One of the most beautiful hotels I have ever stayed in. The room was beautiful, the wine cellar is the best in the world and the staff was superb.
I had to leave the hotel for one night as it was booked for an event. The night of the event, I came to the Palais Coburg and spent $2000 on wine. I was asked to join a table of russians in the cigar lounge. One of the russians, a small man, who had had far too much to drink, began insulting my date and challenging me to fight him. I left that evening and returned the next day to resume my stay. Upon my return, I was told that I was no longer welcome at the request of the owner. I never spoke to the owner, and was a bit surprised that a guest who spent $20,000 in four days would be refused a room. Such is life. I cannot let what other think or do waste my time. The owner of this hotel has cost herself between $100,000 to $1,000,000 in bookings from my friends who will never stay there. I have moved to the Sofitel which is a superior hotel in every way. Ciao.
The entire experience was delightful
We especially enjoyed the fact that the hotel has the fantastic wine cellar (2nd largest in Europe within hotels) and the historical track record of Coburg family which is why you feel more like you live in their residence rather than in a hotel.
