The worst thing are the beds - the mattrasses are so old, that you can feel every feather. We could not sleep the entire night. The Hotel has not been reconstructed for a very long time, everything seems pretty old. - no Elevator! - the bathroom had bad smell - the stuff ist not friendly - breakfast ok It is impossible that this Hotel has 4 stars! Very bad value for your money.

    The hotel was very clean.

The staff is unpleasant, unhelpful and at times arrogant, the decoration is tasteless, for a "wellness-hotel" the jacuzzi is a simple bathtub with wholes for waterjets. If you want water in it, you have to pay extra, if you want to use the infra-sauna you have to pay extra, internet connexion is 5 Euros per hour. It has an overall has-been and cheap feeling. Very bad price-value ratio. It's a 4-star hotel, but I really didn't feel so.

Breakfast was amazing! The room was a little small, but had everything we needed! It was clean, the shower/bath worked perfectly, bed was comfortable, there was a tv with flat screen and even a small old-fashioned radio. We had to close the curtains though, cause the room was at the first floor, but our windows were at street level and everyone could look inside. The hotel is right next to the town church, you should consider this if you intend to sleep after 8 am! Staying overnight in an hotel you have the Summer Card included in the price, which gives you free entrance to almost everything and everywhere in Ramsau. For example, the gondola lift to go up the Dachstein usually costs about 20€/person one way, with the card it is free.

Staff a little uncaring. Food at the restaurant wasn’t special, good for tourists maybe, but definitely not for Austrians. Kitchen closes at 9 pm according to description, but staff complained as we told them we intended to be at the restaurant at 8,30pm… and we are talking about a saturday. In summer the wellness area just opens on request, meaning that if you want to use the sauna, you have to ask at the reception half an hour earlier so that they can switch it on… and I guess everything else (a small whirlpool for one, tepidarium, steam room, fountains etc.) stays off anyway.

The Prugger house had a nice outdoor pool. Very friendly staff. Perfect breakfast buffet at the main hotel. Perfect area for hiking, also with children

Wireless Internet was expensive and only 50mb traffic was included, so practically useless.

The hotel is away from the main road, and from the back it looks straight up a meadow (or gentle nursery piste with ski lift outside the back door in winter) to the crags beyond - stunning. Our apartment was very comfortable: a large bedroom, and same sized living room with a small kitchenette (fridge. 2 hotplates, sink, cupboard) with crockery and cutlery, tin-opener and corkscrew, where we were able to make simple evening meals and pack our lunches for daytime excursions into the mountains. 'Summercard' offers free travel on local buses and entry into local facilities including swimming pool (great for families) and any ski lifts that are open in the summer, plus a host of other activities in the area - the card is provided free by the hotel, and comes with a helpful booklet, available in English, that describes all the activities and how to book them. There are gentle and more challenging walks available from the door of the hotel; simple maps are available in the hotel and more detailed maps of walks are for sale in the Post Office across the road. The hotel has been in the same family for over 200 years, and guests are welcomed as though they are family guests;we were welcomed, smilingly encouraged to use our little command of German and helped (in good English!) when necessary by the courteous staff.

There is internet access via an elderly computer using a 'euro in a slot' arrangement; this was out of order throughout our stay. A small issue in an otherwise wonderful experience, but it did prevent us using the on-line airline check-in facility before our departure.

The website does not make it clear the apartments are 300m from the hotel adjacent to a school. They are old fashioned, dull and depressing. The equipment and furniture are pretty basic.
