Opened in November 2014, Motel One Wien-Staatsoper is just 165 ft from the Ringstraße boulevard and 325 ft from the State Opera.
Score from 313 reviews Wonderful
The Meininger Downtown Sissi is in the Leopoldstadt District, a 10 minute walk from the Schottenring subway station. The modern rooms with private bathrooms are all soundproofed.
Score from 2674 reviews Very good
Only a 5-minute walk from Saint Stephen’s Cathedral, this traditional Viennese 3-star hotel features a restaurant and hosts an opera. Free Wi-Fi is available.
Score from 1115 reviews Good
This charming 3-star hotel offers a quiet location close to the Prater amusement park and the famous Ferris Wheel (Riesenrad), only a few steps from a subway station.
Score from 1211 reviews Very good
Old and rustic fittings inside, yet very nice. Bathrooms were actual bathrooms with separate toilets, obviously an old residential building was converted to rooms... Keycard doors Clean Schwedenplatz is close, Mitte is close... even net of the Ubahn you are in walking distance Decent, no limit breakfast
You have to ascribe the price and set expectations accordingly. You have to think in terms of nostalgia when you hit the place. It helps to envisage the old times!
Location - Very spacious room ideal for a family with twi kids - warm room
Bed matress was very hard Old fashioned decoration
Friendly staff, very close to Vienna attractions and city center. Beds were good. Man at reception told me we could move the beds together if we like as we had to single ones instead of a double bed.
Furniture very old, carpet not very clean, lots of stains. Elevator very small. 2 people plus luggage and it's packed. No shower but bathtub, which is ok, but there was no shower curtain so every shower we took meant flooding the bathroom. Electronic door lock didn't work properly. Sometimes we spent almost 5 minutes until it finally openend.
car parking ticket
I liked the situation, very central and easy to reach anywhere .
It was too expensive
Located at nice place. Front desk staff is helpful. Hotel facilities are very average. Not a pleasure stay or value for money.
Good location good breakfast for vienna this is good value for price....
Toilets are very old fashioned.....
The position and the cleaning of the room and the toilet
First of all, thanks staff - helpful, multilingual, friendly. We've been staying at this hotel for 3 nights (21-24 november). Location is perfect - inner stadt - very close to bus stop to airport (approximately 15 minutes), St.Stefan Cathedral and others main attractions. Beautiful clean riser blocks of flats (one gentleman even didn't want to admit us :)) . Elevator is small, but works well. Good clean, warm rooms. Pretty small but very clean bathroom with toilet articles and hairdryer. Our room overlooked the calm street - Postgasse (of course, we stopped in November, may be in warm time of the year situation is different because of opened windows :)). Very good breakfast. Internet is very fast. Next time will stop here again.
Pretty thin walls - we even could hear skype's ringtone in a next room. :). Not very big choice of channels and not multilingual.
Nice location in the center, close to the metro station and bus stop to the airport. Stefansplatz is two blocks away, many other places of interst are also at a walking distance. Very good choice for a short stay for this price as Vienna is not a cheap city...
The firniture is a little bit old and outdated but everythign works. For a stay longer than three days I would not recommend this hotel as I would prefer to have a private bathroom.
Try the Prater tour..... Fabulous valid for money
Location was good (I was at meetings at the University) and value for money was good. Facilities were sufficient, which was what I wanted.
I found the bed rather hard, but that's just my preference.
Simple yet excellent breakfast.
Temperamental wifi. The shared shower was on a different floor. We'd asked for a double bed but had two single beds. Had to squeeze in on a single bed with my partner.
It was in a good location. The price was tempting, and it offered a breakfast.
The room we received was not what we had requested. They did however provide another room. But the bathtub lacked a curtain. No heating in the toilet.
The location was very near the centre. We had a 4 bed room, with ensuite shower, bath and wash basin
Toilet shared with one other room, was not a problem, but no wash basin in toilet meant having to go back to ensuite to wash hands
Good location. Walking distance to many attractions. Secure. Nice breakfast.
A little claustrophobic with three doors to swipe through. Felt a bit like we were in prison lockdown.
Location near Marientplatz Warmly family reception
The place was a in a nice location, within close walking distance to many different shops, restaurants, and attractions. The breakfast was very good. As we were "warned" about some Austrians, the staff at the desk could be a little "cold," but still helpful. The room was clean.
Although the room was clean, it desperately needed some replacement carpet and shower current/shower head. The carpet had stains and a couple tears/holes in it, but it is fine if you just wear your shoes. The shower... ugh. The shower curtain was very old and had that moldy smell to it. The real problem is that the shower space itself is incredibly tiny. I have a thin build and could BARELY avoid touching the shower curtain anytime I moved to wash myself. Every time it touches you, you have to rewash where it did because it's so gross. The shower head was also broken on the back, so it sprayed water erratically.
Good strong shower, quiet location
Stuffy, dorm-like atmosphere
Location. Just a few blocks from the city night Life.
Poor breakfest. Reception not 24h.
Very small but comfortable room, clean, good wifi, close to everything! Friendly staff, good breakfast.
Within walking distance from all places to visit except schobrunn palace. A lot of halal food around. Size of room about right for expensive vienna
No kettle in the room
Staff were friendly and helpful
Location is really good,5 min to dome by foot,2 min to shwedenplatz metro station. Staff was kindly.
You can hear people in next room when they laughed.
+ good location: it took us about 10 min. walk to get to St. Stephens Cathedral; the hotel is situated on a quiet street, so nothing outside bothers you while sleeping + good food (at least for continental breakfast, incl. cakes, vegetables, several kinds of cheese etc.) + nice & clean rooms
- bad quality of wi-fi (we had a room on the 2nd floor and sometimes I had to spend some time to find wi-fi connection)
