The hotel was nice and upmarket. The best part was we could check in at 10 AM, when we arrived, unlike other places which had forced us to come after 2 PM. The hotel staff at the reception were very friendly and helpful - gave us good advice on where to go what to do. Although we didnt have the breakfast it looked like a good spread. Also Ramada South is right next to the Shopping Center Sud - supposedly the biggest shopping center around. It offers quite a few super markets, restaurants etc. Also the hotel has free wifi (which wasnt so at all places in Europe) - although they need to beef up the signal on all floors.

Ramada South is outside Vienna. When we asked for directions at the main railway station, they told us the Vienna card doesnt cover the local tram which takes you to Ramada. Technically its 2 stations outside the city. The commute is not bad though. From the main railway station (Wien West) - you have to take a metro to Hauftbahnof. Then a local bahnof (the only tram company operating in that direction) towards Vosendorf SCS (SCS is Shopping City Sud). PLease do not get down at the first Vosendorf station. The good thing is the tram runs every 15 minutes. Howevere the last tram is at 12 midnight. We had to eventually take a taxi on New Years Eve night.

staff welcoming friendly pleasant and helpful, food very good and clean although a little worn

My job is a fire safety consultant and I visit premise all over Europe. To be truthful I did not feel safe, there was only automatic fire detection in the escape corridor and none of the doors to bedrooms had closures fitted. I was on the fourth floor, should a fire develop in a room persons may leave there door open persons would be trapped as the corridor would fill with smoke.

Inside the room was OK, and the breakfast was good

To get there, you need to drive through a building site. I got there late, about 10pm, and the hotel was completely deserted, having to walk around the foyer saying hello, hoping someone would come to reception. Got to the room through echoing corridors. Woke to a view of the pool, which was surrounded by building materials, and full of dirty rainwater - obviously it was out of service. I hope all the problems were due to the on-going work, so just make sure they are complete before you visit.

ok staff, free parking, free internet, an ok hotel for transit.

Small room cramped, very small bathroom, access to the toilet only after closing the door and face the wall.

Is this Ramada? I hope this hotel does not reflect the Ramada quality and has got nothing to do with it, because I will never stay at a Ramada hotel ever again. There was no air conditioning as stated on the hotel description. When we went to the reception to ask about the air conditioning, they told us that the little small "hole" in the wall is the air conditioning. I have visited many, many hotels, I have never seen such. Also, there was no control device in the room. I believe that this was only ventilation "hole". Did you ever see or imagine a 4 stars hotel without air conditioning? Terrible and bad experience! If the accomodation wasn't prepaid I would have leave this hotel immediatelly.
