staff was very helpful, breakfast was good, rooms were clean, and centrally located

the common entrance to the place needs some restoration

The Residenz is in an old build ing probably built as apartments for the wealthy many years ago. The bathroom is small but adequate for our needs. The beds were comfortable, everything was spotlessly clean, good wifi and accessible via lift. The location was perfect just near the university and the breakfast was great! We would recommend to our friends. It is great to see older buildings being used for affordable accommodation and not demolished, as is so often the case in Australia.

The floor boards were a bit creaky but that did not concern us...

I didn't arrive until about midnight but the staff still waited for me. The room was comfortable, the shower was good, those are the key things I need. The location is good and the fact that they take credit cards is a bonus.

The location is perfect, very close to metro stations. Also very close to most attractions such as Museumsquartier.

Its a calm and quiet hotel, but with very poor conditions. the staff is good, breakfast is fine.

The location is perfect. Big nice room. Very calm, silent place, no noise from the street though it is the very city center. Everything is within walking distance. The nearest metro station is also 5 minutes apart. Very friendly and helpful personnel at the reception desk.

Very good location: quiet place, but within walking distance of most Vienna sights. Rather big rooms, friendly staff, atmosphere of old Vienna and fruits for guests at the reception. Breakfast was unvaried, but not bad. Very good place to spend a few days in Austria.

I have stayed I many hotels in Europe in recent years and this hotel room was one of the best . the room was excellently decorated with modern bathroom facilities ,a very comfortable bed and good wifi and satellite tv. The hotel in close to the underground train and in the centre of town. The breakfast was also very good and we enjoyed our stay.

Everything was great

Location is perfect for shopping. Nice room, no problem with noise from street/other guests. Staff was helpful and let us stay a bit longer last day + we could have our luggage at the hotel until late evening for no extra cost. The elevator (which many ppl commented) is smal but fits 2 ppl plus bags. The house is just a normal building in classic wiennastyle, big entrence and hall, roof like 3-4 meters up on each level. Breakfast was mainly sandwich and cheese/ham/jam plus some yoghurt and musli. Nothing special but still ok. You can choose from 4-6 different bread but as others already wrote not so much veg./fruits, hard to find in this country! :) I would stay at this hotel again and happy recommend it to others. It was a great location with great stuff. They were very kind and helpful. Breakfast was also good for an european hotel.

The room was very cozy and comfortable. My friends and I shared one room and I stayed on the fold out bed, which was also quite comfortable. The hotel was located right near the Rathaus and was a quick walk to the center of the city, as well as a quick walk to the U2 line and the tram along the Burgring road. The internet worked great, the hotel had plenty of city maps and the gentleman that greeted us was wonderfully kind and helpful. We had a little trouble finding it, as it is located on the second floor of a building, but don't let that discourage you. The pension was quiet and comfortable.

I would absolutely recommend this hotel without reservations.

Small family hotel, near 2 u bahn stations ( 400m and 500m). Old furniture but everything very clean.My single room were small but functional with safebox, flat screen tv, aircon.Buffet breakfast w coffee, milk, tea, yogurt, cheese, ham, fruits and different spreads.They give you the kee to the front door and your room.There is an old but eficient elevator. Safe and residencial neighborhood.

We stayed for one night, as a stopover during a long car drive. Booked this hotel as I've been there before and liked it. The location is perfect if you're looking to stay in the city center but not on a tourist- crowded, noisy street. It's right next to the city hall and the university, and within walking distance from most main attractions. Reaching it by car is very easy even though it's so central. Staff is super helpful and nice and I cannot thank them enough for being so reassuring and welcoming when I had to call and ask for advice when I realised I won't be making it before 9pm (the advertised check in time). The rooms are very very big and so is the bathroom, with a high ceiling (4m at least). I stayed in a superior double both times and it's worth the difference in price. Breakfast is basic but good, fresh, and plentiful. Wifi working well. Parking has never been a problem (as I see others reported) and it costs eur 10/day as far as I remember - for working days (it's free after 10pm on Friday, until Monday morning).
