Our fab room, one of the suites overlooking Danube. So many nice touches and furniture and wardrobe space and very efficient use of space in the room with beautiful roll top bath and amazing shower. Food in restaurant was very tasty although a little over salted. Surroundings beautiful. Parking very easy. Easy to find.

As we have found in Austria on our travels there wasn't much of a welcome when we got to this hotel. Barely a smile infact. We were barely asked our name and I think it was to tick the last names off a list that they had. We were escorted rather efficiently up the stairs to the room. We were briefly told breakfast time, dinner time and that the spa facilities were extra. After driving six hours I decided to have a bath as it looked so inviting. However there was no stopper for the bath and when I rang down to reception they sent someone up straight away. But I was also disappointed to find that there was no bath robes. In a place that claims to be very luxurious surely bath rooms are a must. The lady brought them up to the room. So I started the water for my bath which was a dribble, and to be honest it would have taken about 4 hours to fill it. We were so disappointed. So no bath but to our amazement there was a small box beside the bedside which was a Sex Box! So for thirty euro we could have had vibrators etc for our two nights. We felt this to be very shocking and very bad taste. In the restaurant the sommelier who went through the wines was very friendly and was recommending wines from 50 to 70 euro. We were reluctant to pay that for wine that we were very unfamiliar with. When we ordered the house wine he didn't really overwhelm us with friendliness thereafter. Breakfast, although there was a lot of stuff, there was no hot options except for under boiled eggs. Very disappointing for the money. For lunch we decided to stay in the hotel and we were very disappointed to see the same menu for lunch as was served for dinner the previous night. So we were forced to have a rather large meal at lunchtime when sandwiches would have done. When we asked for the bill we were waiting at least 30 mins. Not good enough. As we were leaving to go to the airport the next morning we had to leave at 7am.

Food and location right on Danube

    - Felt advertising on site was misrepresentative - Rooms uncomfortably hot and noisy with early morning traffic, no AC and no screens so bugs at night - no sleep in two nights - Rooms we had were very standard and not the luxury shown on site - WIFI did not work in one room and weak in other - Not panoramic view from our room as advertised and paid for. Side view only. - No sofa in room as advertised - "Pool" appears to be more a pond - Austria and Wachau has much more to offer than here!

Excellent location right by the Danube with a terrace with great views of the river. Very good breakfast with a wide choice of fruits, veggies, bread, meat and yogurts.

Reception and the hotel was locked down at 10.45pm on Saturday, so we had to wait for staff to come over to pick up our room key.
