Previously the center of the Hapsburg Empire, Vienna is the current center of Austria’s culture, economics, and politics. Visitors may think they are in a museum as they walk through the historic first district, but Vienna also has a youthful and dynamic side with lots to offer.
St Stephens Cathedral in the Inner-City is surrounded by the Ring Road, with grandiose buildings like City Hall, the Austrian Parliament, the State Opera House and the Burgtheater. Enjoy the city where amazing musicians like Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Brahms, and Mahler once lived. If you're visiting during the carnival season, practice your waltzing skills at one of Viennas 200 glamorous annual balls.
Visitors can wander around beautiful park grounds in the Wiener Prater and Schonbrunn Palace provides imperial and extravagant grounds to stroll through. After exploring, eat with the locals by enjoying famous sandwiches at Trzesniewski, a Wiener Schnitzel at Cafe Central or taste traditional wines at the city’s many Viennese pubs.
Vienna International Airport is the doorway to the heart of Vienna. Booking.com has luxury hotels, charming bed & breakfasts and modern apartments to meet any accommodation needs for your stay in Austria’s capital.

In general, people in the service industry are rude, almost hostile, there's no service culture. The only friendly people I met are immigrants. The food is ok, edible but not great. The desserts are way overrated. The city is beautiful and rich in culture and monuments but its people make it a horrible place to visit. I'll never visit again nor would I recommend it

- Save your money and skip the CAT train from the airport.
- Save your money and skip the CAT train from the airport. It's way pricier than the regular train, and honestly, the extra cost just isn't worth it considering the minimal differences in service.
- Take a walking tour. Going to Vienna without knowing the history is a no-no. You must understand what all the architecture is about. Is amazing.
- The opera tour for 13 euros is decent, but it feels rushed, and in the end, only about 20% of the opera is the original structure. My recommendation? Opt for attending an actual show at the opera instead. You can snag a standing spot for around 18 euros and truly immerse yourself in the whole experience.

Vienna was ok, but I am not too sure whether the people (at least some of them) wanted the tourists to be there. There were few times we spoke to people to ask for directions (including at a station) and they were not willing to help. Surprisingly at the station, the woman behind the counter said (when we asked whether she spoke English) that she could speak English but she would not speak English to us so we had to speak to her with our broken German! Some people gave us wrong directions purposely and laughed, at us when they knew we have got lost and passed the same place again.
So I don't think I will go there again and I will not specifically recommend Vienna to any one if asks.
World is massive and there are so many beautiful places in the world, you do not have to go Vienna to see the beauty!
So basically Vienna is not one my favourite places!

A vibrant and historical city as well but overcrowded.
A vibrant and historical city as well but overcrowded. The transportation and the historical sites are quite interesting. In that case, you are interested in visiting the city you have to act as a traveler not as a tourist.

I didn’t do much of the tourist things, as my visit was related to family history research.
I could have spent more time on the research and visiting all the archives trying to discover what happened to my ancestors.
The buildings and churches in Vienna are beautiful, if you like cultural events and history it should be on your bucket list.
It’s worthwhile having small change in your pocket, you have to pay 50 / 60 cents to use the toilets in most public places even in McDonald’s you do get a receipt which you can use against a purchase.
There all sorts of food available in Vienna.
Before you go purchase a ticket to use public transport I think a weeks pass is around 17 euro’s you can get passes for shorter or longer stays. Do not travel without a ticket, you don’t have to show your ticket anywhere. However there are undercover ticket inspectors who appear from nowhere to check you have a ticket. ( I imagine it’s a big fine if you are caught without a ticket)
We had the most wonderful stay at the Guesthouse Vienna. The location was perfect for us to walk to all the sights and the subway station. The hotel itself was quiet, cozy, and charming. We commented on how we had everything we needed: a central location, comfy bed, hot shower with amazing water pressure, cozy but modern decor, friendly and helpful staff, and a wonderful cafe to grab a bite to eat. The staff were able to hire a clean and comfortable ride to and from the airport. As two women traveling alone, we especially felt safe.
The hotel is in a very nice part of the city. The metro station is 2 mins from the hotel, and from there you can get to the city center in 7 mins. You can walk to the city center if you want and can. I did it a few times.
The transfer to the airport, Vienna Airport Lines (VAL 1), stops in front of the Westbahnhof train station, which is in front of the metro station. Everything is very close!
Also, there is a very nice commercial street just around the corner, where you can find all sorts of restaurants, bars, and shops.
The Niu Franz was a great experience for us, everything being on top - a very friendly staff, tasty breakfast, a beautiful and clean room, all cozy and a very interesting building in terms of decorations and artistic concept.
Not to forget the great location, easy access from the airport by train (S7) and with good conection to the city centre by tram (the station right in front of the hotel).
Definitely the number #1 option for out next trip to Vienna. Cannot wait to be back.
Location is absolutely amazing. There are 3(!) Metro lines nearby (U1, U2, U3) and its very close to everything. We saved a lot of time and energy just because its location.
The price was also incredibly low for such a good location in Vienna city center. Rooms were very big ( could use some more facilities and comfort, but still very good for this price in Vienna).
Staff was very helpfull.
We were really happy to find this hotel and saved for the next trips in Vienna.
Breakfast was great! They had great variety! The staff at the breakfast were very polite! Although I missed some sunny side up eggs!
The best thing about our stay is that our room was ready since the morning and we didn't have to wait until 3 pm! They have fulfilled our requirement for an early check-in. The hotel was very close to the airport and to the city Centre. Very easy access with tram and underground!
We loved everything about this hotel - great design, cozy atmosphere, very good food and kind staff. The rooms are spacious, very clean and well designed. The location is one of the best we stayed so far - quiet, close to the historic city centre and to the beautiful and animated Museums Quartier. We will definitely stay here next time we visit Vienna again!
This is a lovely hotel, the staff were lovely, the room was fabulous, the breakfast was great, the location of the hotel is perfect, so close to the city centre and metro & trams, it was also very peaceful & quiet. We had such a lovely stay in Christmas 2022. Vienna is a lovely and fabulous place to visit at Christmas time.
very close to metro station only 3 minutes walking distance which gives you direct access to airport and city center 24 hours. we walked to Stadtpark it took around 16 minutes, another 10 minutes to reach the center of Vienna. The hotel is good compare to the price, rooms have enough space and clean
A nice hotel located a bit outside the city centre but close to the metro, so easy to travel around Vienna. The hotel is close to Danube and a park, perfect for morning runs. Sound isolation is great, no noise. The room was very clean and spacious. We have enjoyed our weekend there.
Our room was clean and warm. Our bed was comfortable. Our next choice in Vienna might be Babula. The hotel is very close to the city center and transportation alternatives.
Even though we couldn't go to the park nearby, just knowing it was there was enough.
Leonardo Hotel in Vienna is big professional hotel, almost business trip feel-alike. The time of check out is very convenient (11-12). Also the location of the hotel is great, it s not only close to train/bus station but close to belvedere and city centre.
Very good hotel near the old city center, everything is within a walking distance with metro/tram/bus just 5 minutes away if need to go to other areas of Vienna.
Very comfortable and relatively big room with very good beds. Very clean and very welcoming.
Nice hotel to stay in Vienna:
- next to Franz-Josefs-Bahnhof (station)
- 30 min from Vienna Central Station by direct tramway
- 15-20 min from city center by direct tramway
- spacious room
- good breakfast
- helpful staff
- option to leave luggage
Nice hotel, very clean, excelent breakfast, nice personal. The rooms are small, but imaculate clean, nice personal. There is a parking. Not the best location if you want to visit Vienna, but still not too far from the city centre-about 6 km.
Good price comparing to some other hotels in Vienna. Good location close to city centre with bus and metro. Close to train station Vienna Mitte and Vienna Central station. Big rooms equipped with bath tube and minibar. Good aircondition.
This is a lovely hotel, with great staff and located very conveniently to go in/out Vienna city center.
The night staff was very accomodating, and helped me and my toddler with everything we needed (warm milk, crib, even a teddy bear!)
This is best choice for your stay in Vienna, hotel is at least like 4, even like 5 star. It's great and renewed , all is super clean, stuff great, it has free parking, as well great location surrounded the nature and plenty of markets.
The location is outstanding for having nice walks in the city centre.
Karl, the host, is extremely nice and attentiv. He gave us free ride from and to the airport plus he gave us really useful tips and hinds about Vienna sightseeing.
Very nice hotel in the city centre of Vienna! New, stylish with very friendly staff! They have a great bar/restaurant inside the hotel! Centre is latterly 3 minutes walk from the hotel! Rooms are nicely decorated!
