Room comfortable apart from work going on above floor at the moment
First we had to change rooms because of clogged plumbing, then the restaurant was not open in the evening (too few guests I guess) so we had to go to a different one –nearby. Then came the worse!! At ~10 a clock in the morning they started to work in the building (probably in the room directly above us) with heavy machinery, that made any kind of communication literally impossible – I do not exaggerate when I say it was louder than a plane. Our young son got so scared that we had to leave the area. So, I went to the reception, where I was informed that it should take "less than yesterday" probably until 16:00 no later than 17:00!!!! I asked if they could arrange for 10 minutes of silence just enough to pack and leave. I only achieved that after the concierge came personally up and realise it is not possible even for adults to stay in that horrible noise. The renovation is very welcome for the hotel, but they should not be so greedy and sell rooms directly under the construction site since they have 3 wings which were desolating empty. To put the cherry on the cake, they generously offered us a free drink in their restaurant to put up with the condition… Upshot – big mistake for choosing the hotel!
this is really not a four stars hotel.the lobby was dirty, the room was not clean, the room was out of date, the maintenance of the room and the floor was really bad, i can't recommend this hotel it was disappointment
Good location, not too far from shops and city centre (15 min walk). Underground parking on site (extra payment)
We got a room by the lift and it was really noisy. Noise from other rooms was quite bad too, walls not well insulated. WiFi connection ok generally but rather slow.
Location within walking distance of station and old town. Very good breakfats.
On 31 Jan early in the evening a young waitress who spoke excellent English was very helpful, and your receptionist on duty I believe her name may have been Annette was very kind and helpful
The room is very comfortable and clean. It has kettle to boil hot water for tea and coffee. Really close to the train station (about 10 min walk).
Room is a bit small, and price is a bit high. It is a little far away from the city center.
Good location. Easy to get to from the road and within distance of the old town
the staff was very pleasant. one receptionist, Annette, was very helpful and always personable to everyone. the breakfast was delicious. room was comfortable and quiet.
the hotel was a bit of a walk from the Old City. The breakfast was expensive at 15€ each but we took the two for one deal which was very reasonable.
The location, the cleanliness, the friendliness of the staff!
The expensive price of the breakfast.
Parking wrong information by Reception and made us confused.
Excellent Hotel in a very good location both for the main rail station and walking distance intothe old town of Salzburg. We all enjoyed our stay at this Hotel (party of 6).
8EUR for outside parking, fair price! Room is clean!
A little bit far from city center
quiet location, easy to find a parking place and very valuable parking fee (public one). breakfast is good
a little bit far from the city center
The staff were absolutely lovely and always willing to help. The rooms were nice, clean and comfortable and the wifi in the room was great. The location was pretty good, about a 10 minute walk to the main restaurant area which was fine (with an Italian and Indian place about 2 minutes away). We would definitely stay here again
Breakfast was going to cost us €15 each which is a bit too much for our price range, but that was just based on our circumstances. Everything else was great.
Excellent hotel. Exactly what you would expect from a hotel brand like Mercure.
Staff trying to sell you upgrades and loyalty cards.
Clean and tidy with everything there that we needed. Nothing overly special but nothing bad to mention either!
Staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was a good size and clean, and the location was handy, close to the train station.
Friendly staff, nice facilities. There's a nice restaurant "Die Wiesse" down the street.
It's a 20 mins walk to the city attractions - very doable but great. They started construction at 7:45 am so there was no sleeping in.
All the basics were there
Quite expensive meals.
Nice room, comfortable, we had good quality of sleep.
The hotel location needs bus ride from the main train station although can be reached by 15 - 20 mins walking. However we would not stay in this hotel again due to one issue. We accidentally hung "Room Maintenance" written card on the door handle before leaving the room. We did not see the other card which has two sides, one coloured in green telling them to clean the room while the other coloured in red telling them not to disturb. When we got back to our room, it wasn't cleaned at all. The receptionist refused to clean our room saying that the house keeping service was only provided in the morning. She insisted that we were wrong to put "Room Maintenance" card on the door handle, although during the conversation it was only then clear to us that the other card was the one which delivers "Do Not Disturb" message on its red side. So either way, hanging the "Room Maintenance" card doesn't mean we don't request for the room cleaning. Personally I don't expect to receive this kind of service at a four-star hotel.
The staff were amazing! The front staff Peter & the restaurant Flo & Jovo were exceptional. The chef should also take credit as the food was amazing!
A guest must have had dogs with them and they howled most of the night. Location was not where I was expecting.
Very modern design of the room. The cleanliness. Enough parking spaces. Free Wifi.
Parking spaces were available, but were subject to a fee of 8 euro/day. Breakfast not included in the room rate and subject to an extra charge.
Comfy beds, a nice breakfast staff and a really nice breakfast.
Both rooms smelled horribly of body odir. There was trash in the bins from previous guests.
