Schlosshotel Freisitz Roith enjoys a nice and quiet location on the eastern shore of Lake Traun, with amazing views of the lake and the town of Gmunden. This historic castle from the 16th century offers light-flooded rooms and suites with beautiful lake views, as well as an excellent restaurant. The rich breakfast buffet is available until 11 am. Coffee, cake and small snacks are served in the afternoon. The gourmet Wintergarten restaurant was awarded 2 toques by Gault Millau. It serves Austrian and Mediterranean cuisine and offers a wide selection of wines from the well-stocked wine cellar. The atrium and the terrace offer panoramic views of the lake, the town and Ort Castle. The way from the lake to Schlosshotel Freisitz Roith is a nice path through the romantic castle grounds. Great experience, unique atmosphere. You feel like you are all the time under care but not distrubant way. There should be possibility to have a bit lighter dinner - current restaurant is too fancy and slow for family with child.

Unfortunately we could only stay one night as we were travelling from Vienna to Munich. Beautiful Hotel and surroundings everything was done to perfection. Hope to return again sometime!

The staff was very friendly and welcoming Our first room was right by the parking lot and it sounded like cars were parking in our room. They moved us into a better room and even upgraded us for no charge.

A beautiful location on a lake with a very nice restaurant overlooking the water. Some rooms are beautiful but we had to move because of bugs to a smaller room that was no where near the same. No air conditioner, and we could not open windows on a very hot day, as the room was on the first floor, close to the ground overlooking the parking lot.

The customer service, decor/style, high quality food and wine. Location to the Gmunden area. Spectacular views of the lake. The professionalism and genuine concern for the guests well being by all staff. Perhaps air conditioning could be added at a later stage.

The view from the restaurant that overlooks the lake. Staff friendliness, particularly after we arrived at 9 pm in the evening. They were able to get us, via taxi, to another very good restaurant after we couldn't dine in their restaurant. Breakfast was very good. Staff very attentive. A little out of the downtown area. It is walkable, but you must walk on the roadway for some time before reaching sidewalks. Wouldn't want to do it at night. If you plan to dine at the hotel for an evening meal make a reservation. We could not eat there because it was full. A little difficult to find when driving a car. Road behind hotel with cars and motorcycles, noisy if you have a back room. Grounds outside hotel need work.

Lugar de buen gusto, con personal amable especialmente las camareras del restaurante.Habitación confortable y silenciosa, ideal para descansar, adecuado para parejas.Entorno idilico y espectacular. El precio de la habitación es excesivamente caro para la sencillez que ofrece la misma. Por menos dinero he disfrutado de habitaciones más lujosas. Sí se mira en conjunto con el edificio y el lugar en que se encuentra se puede valorar según las exigencias y gustos de cada uno.

Locatie Ik had dit hotel O.A. geselcteerd op aawezigheid van restaurant (omdat ik 's avond laat zou aankome). Bleek er een of ander evenement te zijn waardoor het restaurant niet open was. Ook het hotel persneel was geheel gefocust op dit evenement...... Een half uur wachten bij de bar tot er uiteindelijk iemand kwam opdraven.

Sehr freundliche,hilfsbereite Mitarbeiter. Ausgezeichnete Küche,leider mittags nicht geöffnet,auch kein Ersatz . Dusch Einheit etwas unpraktisch montiert. Insgesamt aber sehr empfehlenswert.tolle Aussicht

Non ho riscontrato nulla di negativo. Colpisce oltre alla splendida location naturale, la raffinatezza degli interni, l'ampiezza delle camere e la disponibilità dello staff. Sicuramente tornerò a soggiornare in questo Hotel anche per vacanze.

Die Freundlichkeit der Mitarbeiter, die herrliche Aussicht auf den See,welche wir von unserem Zimmer aus hatten, und vor allem die hohe Qualität des Restaurants Wintergarten. Der Hotelbereich, welchen wir erlebten, hätte eine gründliche Renovierung nötig.
