We loved swimming in the beautiful lake, and breakfasts by the water. The bed is very comfortable.

The wifi did not work well. We had to go downstairs to access it. Dinner at the restaurant was delicious, but extremely expensive--our most expensive meal during our 17 day trip through Paris, Rome, Florence and London.

Direct lake access! Quiet even during peak travel times.

    Rooms could've been vacuumed daily.

I think this is maybe a better place if you like the big picture and details don't bother you. The location is undoubtedly stunning. The house has seen better days, though. Breakfast was generous and tasty, but there was no variation, by the fourth day it felt monotonous. The hotel restaurant did do dinner, but it involved a minimum four course meal for 60 euros. Not practical when travelling with four children. The bathrooms are all new and the mattresses comfortable. Swimming in the lake. The view onto the lake when having breakfast outside in the garden. The outdoor terrace on the first floor.

Being woken at midnight by a false fire alarm that the staff were unable to switch off for ages. A so called suite with a lake view (nr 15) that was claustrophobicly small and at best had a partial view ( we put one of the kids in it and took the larger double, nr 14)).Worn fixtures and fittings in the rooms. Raw nails banged in the wall above our headboard that once held something up there. I think the image being aimed for is shabby chic, but the rooms are veering more towards the shabby. One of the kids rooms (nr 19) had neither shutters nor curtains, he woke as soon as day broke. My feeling was that overall this place was a bit Fawlty Towers.

Location must be the best on Worthersee. Peace and tranquillity in exclusive surroundings. Beautiful view from private lawn/deck. Renovated 19th century Villa. Gourmet breakfast. Good WIFI and private parking walk from Portschach. Book room at front with lake view ofr best memories!

Shabby chic B&B feel rather than 4 star luxury. Bathroom bit cramped (but was modern). Breakfast staff bit slow and did not explain we could have eggs/bacon at breakfast (guess we should have read the breakfast menu more carefully!).
