located on a quiet historic street
minimal breakfast at coffee shop around the corner included
Our room had plenty storage. The bed was in a large, clean and comfortable room. There was a comfortable sofa, coffee table and side chair. Lots of windows and light. The staff was very gracious and informative. They even let us use the hotel's washer and dryer!
Our particular room was directly off the the elevator. I agree with the other reviews citing the noisy pub. That was a problem for us also. Hard for me to get to sleep. The breakfast in the cafe next door was very basic. Once when the coffee urn was empty, I told the waitress and she was unimpressed and did not make a new pot!
Nothing much. My room window opened to the back of the hotel where there was another street. The young and the restless travellers stayed late and partied making rather loud noises; that was only one night and I can understand they were having a good time while on vacation.
No hair drier in the room. The receptionist said it was a one star hotel and I should not expect hair drier in every room. Small triple room but with huge fake antique furnitures. No light bulbs in the lamps.
The location and staff were superior. Comfortable, clean room. Enjoyed breakfast!
Elevator was slow: ended up walking up to room mostly.
Lovely big room, comfortable, lovely windows on to street, bathroom fine, reading lamps good. Hotel an old building with lots of character.
Building all of wood with no obvious fire escape. Had to go to other building for breakfast.
The location is good, almost in the center. Staffs are friendly, you can ask them to book some tour for you. If you're with heavy luggage, I suggest you take the taxi from the train station to this hotel, since it's a bit far away from there and there's a small hill that you'll have to walk through. The breakfast is good!
You can smell smoke in th lobby, but it's not a problem when you're in the room.
Good location for the price we paid. You can go walking to Old town without be in Old town where prices are higher. Room confortable. The breakfast included was acceptable (juice, bread, jam, yogurt, cereal, coffee, fruits etc ). Personal helpful.
Some noise from outside during the night but we could sleep well. Credit card machine out of service during checkout. We must paid in cash, something that affect our expending plans.
nice location, breakfast, clean room, good wifi.
Fantastic location in the old town, surrounded by bars and restaurants. Good price. Staff were friendly if somewhat relaxed
Very tired rooms with old furniture. No shower gel/shampoo in bathroom Located above a heavy metal bar which played loud music to the early hours. Breakfast at next door cafe was poor.
Stayed in room 101 for one night. Spacious room, convenient location. Friendly receptionists & informative. Around 20 minutes walk from train station.
Did not sleep well because pillows were too flat although extra flat pillows provided and wooden bed squeaky sound was annoying, poor sound proof from door entrance, can hear noise from corridor clearly. No air-con and when open window, cooking smell from the kitchen flowing in, rubbish collection area right down the window & no black out curtain. Really not value for money. Minimum in-room amenities with small hand bar soap only, no shampoo, no bath/hand soap , no hair dryer. Bridges Cafes breakfast was disappointing - inefficient, took time to refill, no egg, no fruits, very limited choices.
Great location, really comfy bed with pristine white sheets.
Not much character to hotel in general.
Just a short walk to the historic city center and right in the heart of today's modern living. Truly the most ideal situation for a visit to Salzburg. Plus, when our party unexpectedly expanded from 3 to 4 people, the Hotel Schwarzes Rössl staff was quick to accommodate us. We loved our stay here and would definitely return.
Came in at an ungodly hour. Was grateful for being able to check in early and freshen up
Good location near shops and not far to walk across to the old city.
Beds were very flimsy. Thought they might collapse at any time.
Easy commute to all parts of the attraction. Breakfast is good and clean and nice hotel.
Location was good Hotel staff was good Beds clean and big
Internet connection was slow and disconnected a lot Parking is far No smoking rooms!
Large spacious rooms, fridges, fair quality breakfast included, great location and character
Some areas looked a little dated, breakfast service was average
Perfect location. Comfortable & clean. Staff were friendly & helpful. For how much I paid it was definitely value for money. If you are visiting Salzburg, do yourself a favour & stay at Schwarzes Rössl
Good balance of price and quality. Easy access to city center. I like it.
This place looks like a student dormitory, but it is very comfortable and clean. Staff was polite, breakfast OK (though you have to go to a separate place with a paper they give you on reception). Wifi worked fine, the location was excellent, really close to everything and the price was not so high, as in most places in Salzburg.
Nothing really serious.
The staff were all wonderful, spoke excellent English and were endlessly helpful. The beds were changed every day unless I put a sign out to stop it happening! Above all, I felt at home in a very friendly environment. I don't know a better place in Salzburg for the money.
It's a shame that we have to go next door to have breakfast, but the system works very well. There is a 30 Eurocent reduction on the normal breakfast (unlimited ham, cheese and bread etc) but if you buy your own it could be cheaper than 8 Euros. I had a boiled egg, bread etc with tea for 2 € less.
* Ideal location in the centre of town. * Very friendly service. * Nice, simple rooms. * Very clean. * No issues with noise (backstreet-facing room on the 3rd floor).
* The breakfast, provided by the café next door, is rather poor, and is out of many items before the end of service. Go early, or go grab breakfast at one of the many nice places in town!
Very well situated to explore the new and old parts of Salzburg. Staff very helpful.
the bed was good, the room silent. I slept very well. The staff was helpful in getting what I needed. Excellent location at walking distant to all major attractions. x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x.
