It is run superbly by a family that will do everything they can to help. Great value for money, superbly clean and comfortable.Perfect location to access the city centre and numerous attractions.
Good Place ! It's very clean , comfortable ! Good people
Friendly staff and convenient location in the downtown but not right in the middle of everything.
Location, service, comfort.
You can't pay with card, only cash
A WALK AWAY FROM EVERYTHING .CLEAN. GOOD CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST.
A small family-run pension in a period building. One large, high ceiling, en suite room served all our needs - was comfortable, v clean and warm. Owners were v hospitable, without being intrusive. Room quiet, being on fourth floor (served by good lift). Good breakfast. Almost nothing but positives during our 3 nights.
Towels need upgrading in quality, and more pillows provided. Electric kettle in room or dining room would be nice.
staff are very friendly，very clean room like a home
Anita the host was very welcoming and friendly. The bed was extremely comfortable and huge!! Is one of the cleanest places we have ever stayed in! The shared bathroom was always spotless. The 1185 bus direct to the airport is a 5 minute walk away and city centre about 10 min.
We opted for the share bathroom rather than en suite - therefore we had to walk through the breakfast area to reach it which was a bit inconvenient especially when people eating breakfast but other than that the place was great and it was our choice to go with a shared bathroom
We had a great stay. Very close to swedensplatz station and to the postbusv which can takesyou to and from the airport. We easily walked everywhere - karlsplatz is only 25 min away.
Rooms are not completely soundproof- however, other guests were not noisy at night. WC was a bit smelly (bleach?).
Where else would the host overhear you coughing and come after you with a cup of sage tea? Genuinely caring, warm, relaxed, friendly, and just very sweet. Fantastic location, too. And they even provide bath-robes!
Our stay at Schweizer Pension Soldereer was very enjoyable: helpful staff and great location!
The front desk man is so nice man and very helpful and the place is very clean and quite and in the center of city
I got lost the way to the place two times because its hard to find
Our hostes were very kind and helpful. The room had a lot of light and space, with high ceilings and the beds were good.
The shower: it took us long to get warm water (waste of a lot of water) and there was little water, maybe the shower hose was almost broken? However, we forgot to tell so it wasn't that a big problem..
7 minute walk yo cathedral and 2 blocks to metro. klaus was very helpful in pointing out places to visit.
room was good sized but bed was not very comfortable. Wood parquet floors very creaky.
Location Very friendly staff, doing its best so that we feel perfectly well Lovely hotel and room Very fast Wi-Fi connection
WC and bathroom were a little bit far since I had the last room in the hall
Others is good.
location is good, but it's difficult to find it.
I liked the room- it was clean, comfortable. Klaus was very kind and helpful.
The only thing that i did not like was shared bathroom
Nothing much to talk about. The lady likely the owner reminded me of the a-bit-bossy teacher who wants things in her own rigid way; it kind of reminded me of living with the rather strict mother ! But overall the experience was pleasant.
excellent location. Great communication with staff. Very helpful and concerned that I had a good stay. Good breakfast. Comfy bed.
everything was great!
The staff were excellent, very helpful with any questions we had regarding Vienna and transportation in and around. Klaus treated us like friends, thank you. Our room, number 7, was clean, comfortable and quiet. We were close to the metro and were within our walking range to the sites in Vienna.
Extremely quiet place in the very centre of Vienna, and the staff really takes care of the guests.
I had no idea the hotel was that close to the center and so easy to find. From the airport it's a piece of cake you just take one bus for 8 euros and here you go from the stations where it drops you, you just walk the Salzgries street go right and here you are. An amazing building, old but a nice one, the pension is the 4th floor but there's an elevator then no worries. The hotel is 5 to 10min walking from Kaerntner Strasse which is Vienna's historically most famous and most noble shopping streets. You have a supermarket right across the hotel. When you first ring the bell from downstairs Anita Klauss will probably answer you and give you all necessary details to go up. When you first enter you feel like home, it's s cozy, beautiful design and a warm welcome from the receptionist, for me it was Anita, you might have her son who is as nice as her. The breakfast is more than enough. Basic but enough variety. You shouldn't talk loudly and use your mobile during breakfast time, at first I thought it's not nice but to be honest it's a nice rule, since the place is small and if someone starts to speak loudly it would really bother the other persons eating. They can reserve you tours with sightseeing Vienna, they come and pick you up from the hotel. That was a great point for me. I would recommend it for anyone willing to have a shared shower and toilets, it was my first time to stay like this but honestly the place can't be crowded, and it didn't happen that I crossed anyone going to the toilet or for a shower. But you do have to cross the breakfast room (which is the reception as well) to go to these facilities, so if you are going to have a shower in the morning it's ok to cross a few people eating. Other than that it's an amazing hotel, if I go back to Vienna I would definitely stay there again. For the location, the safety and peace of the street, for the money value as well.
The floor was making noise while walking near the Breakfast room' so if you go to the toilet at 4am you feel that the noise is really loud. I think they should consider checking it. Another important point to mention is that the reception is only there till 8om. So it's better to inform them if you are arriving late at night.
Good customer service can make or break an experience, and our stay at Schweizer Pension was made, thanks to owner Klaus. We were greeted by the young and jocular owner when we arrived, and he took care to answer all questions, and ask us about our meal preferences, which can be difficult to satisfy in Europe. He provided us with a vegan buffet each morning, including soy and coconut milks, soy yogurt, muesli, a sampling of various hummuses and dips, as well as smoked tofu and vegan cheese. It seemed like he got a product from each section of the bio health food store just for us. His attention to detail in that regard was wonderful. He also makes sure to note your coffee or tea preference, and to provide a different cake at breakfast each day. Touches like these make a hotel and new city more welcoming. It's clear that he likes interacting with people, and he's bilingual at the least, so it's easy to communicate in English here. Other plusses: The beds were comfortable, there is an elevator to the Pension, and the location is great, especially if you like to walk or bike through cities. Vienna is easy to get around and the major sites were about a 20 minute walk from the hotel.
The walk from our room to shared bathroom was slightly awkward, reminscent of dorm living. But it's only for a couple of nights! And if you book the room without private bath, your own room won't smell, as some reviewers complained of. There is some noise from local bar and club, with revelers heading home in the early morning hours. Bring ear plugs.
The staff were really nice and service minded :) ! I felt at home and taken care of! The location was great, a very quite street at the very city center.
The walls were too thin and sounds from the neighbours easy to be disturbed by...
