The service offered by the staff was great. Very helpful owners.
Friendly personnel View from hotel
Unpleasant smell in washroom Outdated interior Sober breakfast
- Kindness of the staff - Position
- The room was awful. The bathroom is a cabin built in the room. The furnitures, the WC and the shower are very old with rust on them. The bed is very uncomfortable. - The breakfast was ridicolous.
This place was in a good location and was pretty cheap, but it was also a bit weird. The wifi didn't actually work so well, and the staff came into the rooms (there wasn't an option to put a do not disturb sign up) if it was raining to close the windows while the guests were out.
Very friendly personal, good rooms, nice breakfast. Good location.
Staff was very helpful and accommodating. Room was clean and comfortable. Quiet hotel a short walk from the Underground and bus stop.
Location was fantasticin the Inner Ring which is pretty much where most of what tourists go to see is located. Owners very helpful - typical Austrian breakfast. Old building - pension on 4th floor w/elevator, not a problem. Large washbasin in room. As we were leaving before breakfast, they made us a breakfast/lunch to go which was very generous. 7 min. walk from bus to airport.
There really was nothing we didn't like Shared bathroom facilities, not a problem for us but some Americans may not like this. Perhaps some rooms have a shower, don't know. Be aware they don't take credit cards.
Very very friendly and helpful staff, good location near subway and tram station and near the city center, delicious breakfast, clean and cosy room, one morning we asked to have breakfast a little earlier than the usual time, and that was absolutely no problem.
Room bigger than it looks like in pictures. Very clean. Very good location, 5 min walking to underground or tram. The reception guy was quite kind and helpful.
To say something, to go to the bathroom you have to go across the breakfast room, it is funny.
The cleaning lady persisted to enter my room even though she knew I was in there. Also there was no privacy when accessing the shared bathroom, you had to walk through the dining area.
Good location: At the city margin, but close to metro (around 5-7 mins) , and everything in a walking distance (because Vienna city is small for travelling) . Feel like home: Very nice employees, clean and tidy rooms, home-like lobby. But of course, home does observe many rules... Two supermarkets oppostite to the building
Must be paid by cash, no credit card. At the forth floor of a building and easy to be missed out, need some time to find. The light at the corridor does not work sometimes. Shared bath and toilets are small. Home rules: No phone at lobby... turn off the light and door after using toilets... not enough charging hubs in the room... Wifi is weak sometimes, and I must go out to the lobby or in frontof the door of my room.
The 3rd-floor Schweizer Pension Solderer was a bit hard to find at first and is located in a quiet, nondescript corner of Vienna. But it provided a fine base for three days of touring. The owners were a bit brusque, but not unfriendly. Anita stayed after hours to accommodate our late arrival. (Staff was not on premises 24 hours a day.) Breakfasts were excellent and varied from day to day. Wi-Fi is free, but TVs are outdated.
There was nothing we "didn't like." Our room overlooking a couple of bars on Salzgries was a bit noisy, and it seemed somewhat industrial and spare, but it certainly was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was cramped by American standards but quite in keeping with most European lodging.
Very helpful staff, good location, within walking distance of most attractions
The location was great , staff friendly and it was comfortable
Air conditioning would be good in the summer months
Very friendly, helpful owner;excellent breakfast, local newspapers and magazines to hand;possibility of getting tourist information and bookings for sightseeing tours etc.Very good location, just on the edge of the innere Stadt where the majority of sights can be found, and close to public transport for others
Unfortunately there is no air conditioning;the weather was very warm and consequently so was our room. In addition I think it needs to be made clear that the Pension is on the 4th floor of the building;there is a lift, but that has to be accessed via a few steps on the ground floor meaning it is not entirely suitable for wheelchair users.
Really nice staff, clean rooms, and excellent location in the center of Vienna.
- Spacious room - Big windows - Helpful staff - Great location (10 mins walk to main sites)
- Very thin walls - could hear everything (!) from the other guests rooms - No proper ventilation in the bathroom so it smelt, and made the room smell whenever you opened the door - The bathroom was not a separate room - just walls added to the room and a curtain instead of a door (except toilet) - No air conditioning (or even a fan) - not good in a heatwave
The room was nice. The attention to cleanliness was apparent. The breakfast was excellent. There were more people at this pension than the others we stayed at, I personally thought it was more fun to hear more stories at breakfast.
No private bathroom. Woman who was reading her guidebook on an iPad and discussing the upcoming day with her husband was asked to turn the electronic device off while the next table over read a print book doing the same thing; felt off. Didn't accept credit cards, which made it a bit of a rush to catch our train in the morning after I had to run to the ATM.
Staff was unfriendly (except Klaus). Be ready to pay extra money if your flight was delayed or you have late arriving (after 8pm - extra 25euro!). And nobody inform you about it before. With the total price in 85 euros per person you can find a room in a good hotel! Additionally I had to pay by cash. Location is far away from city centre and main attractions (20 min by walking). The room is not comfortable (the walls are very thin, you will hear all sounds from the passage and the dining room even durig the night time). Only one small bathroom for guests without ensuite rooms. Had to walk through dining room to get to bathroom. I would never stay in this place again.
Owners were friendly and extremely helpful. Room was comfortable. Breakfasts were substantial with an assortment provided. Location was convenient to U3 and U4.
Location was great. The owners, Anita and Klaus were friendly and helpful with suggestions and practical trips. Breakfast was different everyday and there was a lot of variety. The light switch with a timer for the bathroom was a little wierd, but otherwise I had a great room, large, spacious, clean with huge windows facing the street. A wonderful experience and I would certainly stay there again.
Bathroom was very small, especially the shower stall. But overall, it was good value for money.
The location was relatively close to many important touristic points, but it was extremely easy to get lost.
There's no 24 hour personal, you're given a key and if anything happens to you or your key you're basically screwed. The shower/bathtub is so weird (only one, btw) that I was lucky I had just booked one night and leaving the next morning because I could afford to skip a shower, otherwise, not nice at all. Breakfast is completely overpriced (10 euros).
Extremely well located, very easy walking distance to most attractions. My 6nts were very comfortable, I was very dubious about the shared bathroom situation but it worked out well, was always clean & I wasn't inconvenienced by other guests having to wait to use the facilities. The wifi connection in my bedroom was very strong. This pension ticked all my travel requirements and I would stay there again.
Perhaps one small negative is the noise factor, the walls appear to be very thin & the sounds from the passage/dining room can be heard from the room I occupied.
My stay was really enjoyable with extremely helpful and friendly staff and very delicious breakfast served! The location of the hostel was great and accessible and the neighbourhood is safe at night. The rooms are very comfortable with a large shared bathroom. I really enjoyed my stay in this hostel and it is comparable if not better than most hotels in other cities!
Location is slightly far away from city centre by foot and the neighbourhood can be quite hard to navigate - we keep getting lost when we are near the hostel!
-Within five blocks of underground made location easily accessible to historic sights. -Clean facility with good breakfast (cheese, meats, bread, cereal, your own pot of coffee).
-No AC (which we knew) but unable to keep windows open at night due to street noise. -The odor of sewer from bathroom pipes on 4th floor of an old building was unacceptable. Back up of water into sink upon very loud toilet flush.
