The park of the hotel is nice. The main house is also nice but it is not the hotel.

The hotel is not as may seem from the pictures in the main mansion but in an annexe that is everything but nice and comfy. The actual hotel looks like a students dorm. And it is a students dormitory. The castle belongs to ovp (Austrian People's Party) and it is used as a political school. The hotel building is actually the school's dormitory used as a hotel when there are available rooms. Therefore the furniture is less than basic and it is there since the hotel building was build in the 70's, unchanged. Time and generations of students left the mark. The carpets are also original, vintage I should say, but not very clean unfortunately. The breakfast is basic, minimum, the coffee is bad. It can be served on the terrace outside, if the weather allows, in full view of the beautiful park but also in view of the garbage disposal area and in full view of the garden grill with leftovers from the last grill made there. Free parking is a good addition but take care not to park under a tree. Those birds that are beautifully singing in the morning are also leaving bird droppings in the night. On the cars! Apparently those birds eat a lot!!

It's a good choice for those who come to see Vienna but wish to relax from "being in the big city" at the same time. The hotel buildings are charming and surrounded by the park. The place is quiet, the air is fresh and the birds are singing around. Everything in the room is simple but nice and clean. We stayed is the room for 3 adults and there were two separate bedrooms, I find it very good for our group of me, my husband and father. The breakfast terrace is charming. Big free parking (although we had no car). Easy to find the hotel.

Close to Schoenbrunn. Perfect public transport (just 15 mins to get to City Center). Delicious breakfasts.

A bit disappointed that we didn't stay in the Springer palace, but in the ugly house next to it.

Very friendly, helpful staff. Well priced. Whilst out of the very center of Wien, it is only 10 minutes level walk to an Underground (Metro) station. It is also only 10 minutes walk from Schonbrunn Palace, one of the must see sites. The breakfasts are available from 7am-10am. Food is available throughout the day until 6pm (but this is light snacks and the choice is limited). The hotel is in a tranquil setting, if you want a day away from the city.

There are no evening meals available (however there are some very good and reasonably priced restaurants nearby). There are no tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms (but the staff helpfully provided flasks of hot water on request).

The location and the environment

The service of reception is not as warm as espected and the breakfast is not match the 4 star and the price.

The location is pretty and quiet. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The staff were helpful. If you want to visit Schönbrunn Palace, this is the place to stay.

The breakfast buffet was boring. The hotel is a bit of a walk to the train station, especially for older or physically limited travelers. The walls are a little thin -- I wouldn't go here with a large family or if you wanted privacy. There isn't much going on in the neighborhood, and restaurants close early!

Simple and clean room. Perfect location - surrounded by a park. Close to Schoenbrunn Palace and the U4 line of the metro.

No significant downsides.

It was clean and very quiet. It is a great place to stay in Vienna.

Perhaps they should add some sausages to the otherwise varied menu for breakfast.

Pitty the hotel rooms aren't at the Schlößl...

Quiet clean and comfortable hotel. Even though it is not far from the city centre - Schönbrunn castle is just 15 mins away (on foot) - it's "hidden" in a beautiful park. This turns, for example, breakfast into a very pleasant experience - esp. due to glass walls which allow you to start the day in a relaxed clesed-to-nature way.

Good healthy breakfast. Large grounds with castle like structure. Easy walk to Schonnbrun park . Gardens are free but close in evening.

it's located in a beatiful garden.

it's far from city center and many major site seeings. no shop or restaurant near the hotel. the hotel restaurant was open only for breakfast and there were only a vending machine available. as it is located in garden, you may have to expect insects in your room. as we saw I spider under our bed. you have to take 10 minute walke to nearest metro station or bus stop.

My wife & I spent 3 wonderfull nights there. We liked everything: a quiet, big & very comfortable room, private park nearby, facilities, parking. But!, Most of all we were almost crazy about the breakfast - so rich & tasty, so delicious - wow !!! I have no words to explain a filling !!!

Single room downstairs is small and and very noisy

The hotel has a very beautiful garden and it is very close to Schonnbrun castle. Rooms are also very clean and it was very nice to found a chocolate on the pillow as a gift. Breakfast was also good (after the ones in Venice and Prague).

Not accepting amex card on the reception (neither mine, nore my wife's) half an hour later in near shop amex was accepted, so the card is ok, had to pay with cash in the hotel (4 times before the same card was accepted in the hotel, last time in June 2012.)

The place is in a beautiful little park. It was so great! Basic but great and so cheap and very clean!

Though ascetic equipped and furnished, but nice, clean and cosy rooms. Good breakfast. Quiet location, free parking. Near to the Zoo - nice walk through the park.
