Beautiful small hotel in an excellent location with helpful staff. Better for cooler seasons.
The temperature was in the 80's outside, and even when it cooled down at night our room didn't cool down, it was very very hot and we could not sleep. The staff gave us a fan, unfortunately that did not help much because we could not put it in the window without risking the fan falling out into the courtyard 4 stories below.
good location nice staff
construction at the hotel very noisy from 7am!! the hotel had to inform prior to resrvation!!!!!!!!! bad surprise
Every staff member is friendly and helpful with full of hospitality. Breakfast is fine.
Nothing special to say.
Quiet and small place in an excellent location at the city centre. Very kind staff and good breakfast.
Small room with a window facing the opposite room in two metres.
Staff Friendliness Good breakfast Good location- near most of everything
Construction in the courtyard Expensive considering you still have to pay 30EUR per day for parking
Staff were great. Helpful, cheerful spoke English very well. Liked the traditional costumes worn by staff.
The room we had gave an excellent view of the fortress when we were in bed! But having to drag the suitcases up the final set of stairs after the lift stopped at the 4th floor was very difficult. Our bags were too heavy for the staff to carry (Although they did offer).
Staff were fantastic - open smiling faces And warm Communication Thank you very Much - love your city.....So very beautiful
Our only negative was the Shower-it leaked through under the shower door requiring us to seek more towels from reception
Good location in the centre of the old town
Great location Friendly and helpful staff I had one small issue where my wifi code stopped working, but I got a new one and it was fine. Probably the most consistent wifi (doesn't drop out) I've come across this trip.
While there is a good selection of breads, meats, cheeses and cereals for breakfast, I was disappointed not to find fresh fruit like everywhere else we have stayed. Instead there was what looked like tinned mixed fruit. Our bathroom was poorly designed, with multiple floor levels (I would assume this is because it is an old building that has had new plumbing added to it at some point), a faulty shower door, and no drain in the floor. As a result, our bathroom flooded, and all the clothes and towels on the floor became sopping wet (there's not much room to place things beside the sink other than a toothbrush). We did walk past another bedroom later as it was being cleaned and it looked very modern, so perhaps they are slowly going through the hotel and renovating? We also heard a lot of noise from our room. This was the result of a combination of noisy voices coming in through the window from people upstairs (the window was open to remove a mouldy smell from the bathroom), and there being a family with kids next door (who were both loud, and slammed the door, which made our wall shake).
Very central, all sights are within minutes walk. Friendly staff.
The first night we were in a room on the first floor facing the street (14). There is no air-conditioning and the rooms are very small and stuffy, so we needed to keep the windows open. As of 6AM a steady progression of delivery vans, garbage trucks, street cleaning cars &c are passing less than one meter from the window, making sleep impossible. The garbage truck stopped for a long time exactly at our window, after which our room smelled like a garbage dump. The room was also extremely small, no comfortable chairs, hardly space to move around. After complaining, for the second night we were given a room on the third floor facing the small inner courtyard (39) (the rooms facing the larger inner courtyard had noise from building works we were told). This room at least didn't have street noise, but the exhaust from a restaurant nearby filled the room with food smells till very late. Also, the first room had little sachets of shower gel, like you get in $20-motels and not in what claims to be a 4-star hotel. The second room did have a dispenser. Also, the hotel has no facilities whatsoever apart from breakfast: no restaurant, no bar, not even more than a miniscule sitting area. There are many alternatives in the old centre which would make a better choice.
Great location in pedestrian area of Old Town. Very good breakfast. Staff was very helpful and even gave us a new room (with fan included) for second night based on construction near-by.
Construction right outside our window the first night was very loud, and with it being warm we had no choice but to open window. But staff was very helpful and gave us a different room for the second night.
location great, go for 4th floor to get view of castle.
expensive(135EUR/DOUBLE with Breakfast) and the room pretty small.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. The location is very central. Lots of attractions within walking distance.
The staff and the location.
No tea making facilities. Work at front and back of hotel (started at 8am at back and 7am at front). Not very peaceful. Men on scaffolding a couple of feet from window. Not very private although they were very considerate. No air conditioning. No bar.
The amount of information available in the foyer area the location of the hotel was fabulous
The friendliness of the staff, Melanie and Ulrike, was second to none. The breakfast was excellent and we loved the daily information sheet. This is a 'little gem' in Salzburg and we highly recommend it.
The place is newly furbished. Room n toilet r v clean. I like it alot. Staff is helpful. One of the staff, Oreka is a v friendly n funny lady.
As Salzburg is cool most of the time, there is no air-conditioning in the room (was told that most hotel in old buildings do not come with aircon). My friend whom r used to sleeping in air-condition felt alright in the night. Our room was on the 1st floor facing the road, hr there was no window grill. Ladies, u may consider asking for rooms in the inner side or higher floor. But it is relatively safe at Salzburg.
Nice central location. In morning at 7 AM you can hear the "Glockenspiel & Salzburger Stier (Bull) (Barrel Organ)", a nice wake up.
Complicated to find a restaurant after 9 PM
Was an awesome place! Very clean and the staff was so nice and friendly! Wool defiantly stay there again.
Very helpful staff. Comfortable room. Good breakfast. Plan for parking your car.
The location was excellent, and the staff were always extremely helpful. The breakfast was great. We really enjoyed our stay, and I highly recommend this hotel. I'll definitely try and stay here again on my next visit to Salzburg.
Location is great! Walking distance to most. Right in the heart of old Salzburg. Can see the fortress from our window. Newly remodeled but built in the 1400's. Been in the same family for 5 generations. Great staff, very helpful in assisting just about anything. small # of rooms, great breakfast buffet.
Not a thing! Looking forward to going back.
The hotel was in the old town. Our room was comfortable and very quiet. Good breakfast provided. The staff were extremely helpful. Restaurants and supermarkets very close.
Great location. Clean and comfortable. Excellent Breakfast.
Location.Easy parking.Modern room.Excellent Wi fi.Very helpful staff.
No aircon.Lack of shelves in bathroom.Silly packets of shower gel - like a cheap motel. No magnifying mirror in bathroom. No hooks in bathroom.Poor lighting in room .Poor bedside lights
