The hotel is situated in the central pedestrian area of the quaint little town of Kitzbuhel. The skip bus stop is just in front of the hotel. The ski bus will take you to Hahnenkambann in 5 minutes. The return ride is nuch longer, as the skibus goes around the town, so I usually walked back which took not more than 10 minutes.
I had a standard double room which was quite spacious, with a seating area with a sofa and an armchair. The room wall are lined with wood, other furniture is also made of wood and makes the room very cosy. The windows face the quiet street.
I took the halfboard and did not regret it. Breakfast offers a good choice of cold starters, cereals, eggs and sausages. Dinner menue consisted of 5 courses, a combination of local and Italian dishes. The cooking was usually very tasty, with a creative twist, with postions of a reasonable size. The staff at the restaurant was very nice and friendly. I would specially mention Paula, the senior waitress, who spoke excellent English and had a very affable manner with every guest. Other waiters also spoke very good English. Other staff were very helpful and hospitable, too.
The hotel has a swimming pool and 3 different saunas which were quite good.
Beds are hard, which becomes a problem when your muscles hurt after a few days of intense skiing.
A warm whirlpool tub would be very desirable in the wellness area, it would be a great way to relax after skiing.
You need to rely on your own supply of things like cotton buds, cotton pads and room slippers because those will not be provided.
