We had a delightful 3 night stay at villa solitude. Very good overall experience. It's a hotel with B&B feel. Likely the best in Bad Gastein. Staff is superb, very hospitable. They leave you be. Your personal breakfast, great! Location with terrace views of the village and waterfall. Parking in front of the hotel. Top 5 restaurant of Bad Gastein on site. Spectacular views.

Horribly hard beds, we both woke up broken and tired every morning. No elevator, take the stairs with your bags. Wi-Fi is poor and not available in the rooms. The restaurant closes on Wednesday in summer. Food is not that good. Try Jagrhausl down the street for schnitzel! Avoid Gin & Ginger. Nothing happening in Bad Gastein in summer.

Everything. The location over the waterfall was excellent. The villa afforded old world charm with its dark panel walls and ceilings. The cozy sitting room and outside deck we're inviting. Excellent wifi connection which worked in our room, number 1. Adjacent restaurant where breakfast was served offered a daily enjoyable chef menu as well as an extensive collection of wine and spirits. The villa was centrally located within the town. Great big bathtub in recently renovated bathroom.

    Nothing comes to mind!

    The position of the property

The room was very stuffy during the night and when We asked for a fan, they didn't have one and was told to leave the windows open even though we were on the ground floor which was adjact to the next hotels car park. Also on the 2nd day after the room had been serviced we were given a soiled bathtowel and had to ask for a clean one. We had booked a superior room and the chairs in the sitting area were badly stained.

It is a building with history. Great location with a fantastic view on the balcony. The hotel made us feel like staying at a friend's. Room was clean and cozy. The restaurant in the basement was very good with a very reasonable price. Breakfast was presented in a way that made u feel like home! Super nice stay and thinking about coming back in winter!

The bed sheet was a bit worn out.

I loved the rooms and the restaurant. The vaulted ceilings were very nice and rooms very roomy. The food was excellent and you can't beat the atmosphere sitting on the deck above the river

    Liked everything

Fabulous breakfast - you must try the "world-famous" scrambled eggs with cheese and bacon Historic building wonderfully renovated Wonderful, friendly and helpful staff Great location Wonderful view to Bad Gastein Waterfall Fabulous restaurant with excellent wines Cozy reading room with cockle stove and samowar

Minor things to further improve the experience: Ski Boot Heaters (fairly standard) Extend WLAN to higher-up floor

Most beautiful, Austro-Hungarian villa hotel, with beautiful lobby and salon and very spacious beautiful rooms with selling up to 5 meter of height connected to the one of the best restaurant and probably best wine bar in Gastein.

Due to the fact that hotel has a very steep stairway and it is not equipped with an elevator, it would be nice if the hotel staff would organize a help with carrying a luggage to the second floor. Also, ski room lacs of ski boots heating system.

Great location and atmosphere, certain old patina, feeling like 100 years ago, in a Belle Epoque style. Delicious food at Wegner and Lutter and fabulous view on the terrace; Friendly staff, quick check-in, good parking space.

What a lovely place to stay. Our room was a beautiful panelled room with a separate lounge. The hotel is within easy walking distance of all facilities in the town. The restaurant serves great food and is reasonably priced. Breakfast on the balcony is something to look forward to.
