Gracious and professional welcome. Gay friendly. Park setting. Fine buffet breakfast with coffee service at the communal table. Good-sized rooms; our "attic" room had fully built-out ceiling. Good shower. Several common-area lounges. Trapp Family memorabilia is not too imposing. Easy road connection south to Anif, Puch, and the Untersberg. 5 minutes to Makartplatz. Modest furnishings throughout, apparently from the big Swedish retail chain; the villa must have been stripped of its original items. Our large bed was in fact two twin beds that didn't want to stay together. TV noise from adjacent room. No Internet signal, even in lobby, though staff provided a network name and access code. |

The property, the owners, the history, the peace and quiet and the comfort. The only things that could be improved are; put curtains or blinds in the en-suite in the Maria Suite and tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms. |

the fact that the Von Trapp family lived there was very special, it has been renovated to a high standard and the staff are very accommodating. We were aware that the villa had no restaurant however it would have been good to have had the opportunity to tea and coffee facilities. |

I found this hotel by pure luck on booking.com. Second time in Salzburg but first time at Villa Trapp as it is recently opened to public. What a find..omg. This is a must for all those Sound of Music connoisseurs hiding in closets.!! This was a surreal experience. |

The couple that run/own Villa Trapp are outstanding,we had a small travel crisis and they were exceptionally helpful, kind and patient. The location is ideal, its just far enough away from the old town center and birthplace of Mozart that you don't get caught in all the traffic, there is a rail service and bus just around the corner that takes you right into town center in just a few minutes,The room and property were immaculate and the stay was very pleasant.I will definitely stay there the next time I'm in Salzburg. |

History associated with Von Trapp family interesting. Close to Salzburg-Aigen station. Walk into town only 30 minutes along river. Very quiet location. Room was a little small for 2 suitcases. No cereal at breakfast (one of the few without). |

Very cool to stay in such a historic Villa. The quiet location not too far from downtown Salzburg was also nice. We enjoyed the walking trails in the area. The hostess (Marianne) was very helpful and friendly. |

Amazing place. Really like staying in someone's mansion. The Villa can't be treated as a hotel so the permenant occupants run it more like a B&B. What you lose from not having someone always on the front desk you make up for in staying somewhere where the owners have a real passion for the place. The location is fine (about 10mins outside of town on a bus). Maria's suite looked amazing although I don't think you can go too wrong as long as you bear in mind you are staying in a Villa, not a luzury hotel. |

Staff was friendly and very helpful, the villa was lovely, and the rooms were well maintained. Although it's not really within walking distance of the altstadt there is a bus stop conveniently located nearby and it doesn't take very long to get into town. We had a great time at Villa Trapp and would absolutely recommend it! |

It was wonderful to experience staying in the home of the famous Von Trapp's family. I also enjoyed being able to see pictures of the family. Being able to stay in the once family home is relatively new and it would have been nice to have known about all the wonderful amenities that one could have had. For example at night it was possible to have ordered a drink to have in the living room but we didn't know how ring the owners to inquire about it. |

Spacious, clean rooms with accomodating and very friendly staff. Recently renovated but with classic feel. Hotel is not close to Salzburg and guests will need either car rental or cab/bus to travel about. |

Christopher and Maryann Unterkofler, the Managers could not have been kinder or more solicitous. A beautifully kept home full of nostalgia and significance for "The Sound Of Music" fans. A real historical presence as well. We felt like guests of a family. Would like to see more Salzburg style elegance filled in as it develops and gets going. |

The romance of " The Sound Of Music " ..my wifes favourite movie...feeling a part of history, and a beautiful story. ..It was a bit pricey ..we are sorry we could only stay one night , but it was worth it to be there at least one time in our life.. |

Villa Trapp is an elegant home. No hotel feel. Large living room for sitting, reading, computer, etc. 5 min. To bus, s-bahn to city and even to countryside. It is possible to arrive by train and transfer to s-bahn to the villa. I learned it after the fact. Salzburg-Aigen is the stop for s-bahn. I was able to have tea during the day. Breakfast was in the original Trapp dr, everyone eating at the same table; friendly atmosphere. Rooms and bathrooms are well done. Managers/owners are lovely husband-wife team. Very quiet as it is surrounded by its own park and privacy wall so no city noise though only 10 min. By bus/s-bahn from Salzburg center. No phones in the rooms. For Europeans who have their mobile phones, it is alright I guess. But those w/o mobile phones, were not able to receive or make phone calls when staff were absent, which they were often. I did not know this before arrival. A few times when I returned after dinner, no one was in the villa, no lights were on. It was a little scary as I did not know where all the light switches were. |

This is an incredible place because of it's history, exceptional furnishings, personalised service, and comfort. It is also the quietest, most peaceful place we have stayed in during a period of extensive travel throughout Europe. We highly recommend Villa Trapp. |

The Villa Trapp was an exceptional traveling experience. We were treated like "family" by Christopher and his colleagues. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to Maria's room, a thrill for this "Sound of Music" fan!! They could not have been more accommodating, pleasant and welcoming! The room was spotless, very comfortable and modern. The breakfast was delicious. |

I like the fact that its a former home of the Trapp family. I have nothing to dislike of the hotel but if I may say, I think there are still room to improve - for instance, like making the hotel a bit more authentic - there are still something missing - I couldnt really feel the Trapp's atmosphere nor I feel that the villa is once their home a long time ago........ |

It was a small villa and not overly busy. "Christopher" was not only cordial and helpful but a wonderful host with a wealth of information. It would have been nice to have dinner at the hotel. |
