The history of the house is wonderful.
The history is kept in very good conditions. Very friendly staff: even if we couldn't arrive on the time they specified. Large spaces. Very clean and comfortable.
It isn't easy to reach it, especially when it's dark, even with a GPS, because there are no signs. (But neighbors are very friendly...)
what's not to like? The hosts in this Villa gave me a true Austrian experience, one that was also very personal. Every morning, they will greet you with a big smile and personally help you with your ongoing trip. If you didn't live here, I don't think you can say you've been Salzburg, indeed even Austria where the hosts welcome you into their home (almost) and give you a (personal) experience of what it's like to live with Austrians.
Probably a bit far from the city centre (it's a 10 mins bus ride to the city centre)...but I'd like to think this was an advantage as it encouraged me to see the suburbs of Salzburg, places travel groups don't take you to. Wifi in the rooms a bit weak, but I think this is compensated by the cosiness of the living room. Again, contributing to the Austrian home experience.
Reminded us of history
No bell boy facility
Loved the entire stay at the Villa VonTrapp. What an incredible piece of history. The staff was amazing, helpful and friendly. Cannot even begin to say how wonderful it was to stay in the home rich with history. We stayed in the Baron's suite which was on the main level. It was huge with two bedrooms and bathroom. Lovely time. It was quiet and peaceful with afternoon tea in the salon. Parking was free and on premises. They charge a small amount for breakfast however you will not be disappointed. The breakfast room is a rich red color with the traditional fabrics of the Bavarian region. Beautiful.
Everthing. A special mention to Elizabeth who was exceptional, the staff could not be more helpful, what a fantastic place :o)
Extremely comfortable beds Good Wifi 2 minute walk to the train station close to restaurants and shops Quiet room, good sleep Helpful, friendly stafff
Nice beds and the main is a lovely place to sit and relax.
The key to my room opened several other rooms. I think that this is completely unsafe and insecure. I would not stay here again for this reason alone. Also out of town so make sure you have a car. Very slow internet and only in the main room: this is 2014 not 1996!!!
Fabulous history. Very clean and comfortable. Well furnished. Good breakfast, but extra.
Very dark corridors. Wifi only works downstairs in public sitting room. No tea or coffee either in rooms or in public sitting area. Some distance to shop for refreshments.
We stayed in the Edelweiss Suite which included two huge rooms and a wonderful bathroom. The rooms were fitted out to the highest of standards and had an amazing amount of light and space, with high ceilings, excellent views and plenty of room for couches and tables in each of the rooms. This felt truly luxurious and the rooms were impeccable - by far the best we have ever stayed in, comfortably accommodating our family of 4.
We knew before traveling that the hotel's license limited the facilities that could be provided on site - no bar or evening meals, no staffing after 7.00pm etc which was fine. With this in mind, however, the hotel would have benefited from tea and coffee facilities in the rooms and possibly a coffee or drinks machine in the lounge. There is an excellent Gasthoff nearby where we had an outstanding evening meal, and though the walk into the center of Salzburg was beautiful it was slightly too far to be convenient with young children.
Once you find the Villa Trapp, it is a wonderful place to stay. Breakfast buffet was excellent & the facility was well-maintained. The staff was helpful in booking tours
Finding the property even with GPS was very difficult. It is in a residential neighborhood with poorly marked address markers Our GPS said we had arrived but we were 100 yards from the front gate so we spent another 20 minutes driving around trying to find the property.
-The history of the family.Even David Gilmore was there once. -Peaceful place
Breakfast was too expensive. 12 EUR /head We had to pay city tax. 1.5EUR / head
The villa is very nice with its own garden. The room is fine decorated and staff are friendly and professional. And very special breakfast experience. We stay in wing suit and they have two separate bath room. 别野有自己的花园，可以小散步，房间装饰和设施都不错，早餐丰盛，很特别的小奢华体验。
Difficult to find the location. And a bit expensive of course。地点不是太好找，有点小贵。
The Villa was very clean and comfortable. The grounds were very safe. There was night watchman on duty outside when we were there. There was a bus route only two or so blocks away that took us to the old Augsburg. Augsburg has wonderful shops, restaurants, and sights to keep everyone very busy.
I liked everything.
Charm and character of place, the helpful staff, beautiful grounds and of course the well documented history
No tea and coffee facilities in rooms so had to request and pay each time wanted one. Not available 24 hours
Maria's suite, the collection of photos and learning about the Trapp family history. We were just amazed that we actually got to stay in this villa.
We did not get offered the scrambled eggs. Captions under the photos would be helpful identifying those in the photo.
1. The story of the house 2. The nice area 3. The staff You will need to remember that it is an old house and not an hotel. The story of the house is the main issue to remember. The place kept very clean and using the ground floor suite we had good night sleep without doors slamming like you will normally get in a normal hotel.
Villa Trapp was beautiful, really enjoyed staying in the real Von Trapp home. We found it a bit difficult to find, only because we where given the wrong directions by the bus driver. IF your taking the bus from the town, DO get of at the train station stop, it's only a 5 minute walk from there!
No chance of an evening meal! We where tired after travelling, and didn't feel up to heading back into town again. We opted for a toasted sandwich, kindly made for us by a member of staff. Very expensive though at 5.60 for one tiny sandwich. There is a restaurant nearby, (Schloss Aigem) unfortunatly, it doesn't open every night!
We were welcomed by Elizabeth, she showed us to a basic room that was far from basic. It was tastefully decorated and well furnished. The shared bathroom that made it a basic option was perfectly clean and shared only with one other room. The house was beautiful, the room decor was modern but sym pathetic to the history and grandeur of the Trapp family home. We didn't have breakfast but we did pole our head in to look and it looked amazing. Excellent value for money for a gorgeous historic and romantic stay. We would highly recommend.
The mattress was -slightly- uncomfortable, but really I suppose that is personal preference. Everything else was immaculate.
We stayed in the Junior Suite,in September, which was the Captain and Maria's room. Windows were open at night and little birds would wake us up in the morning. The windows were overlooking the backyard and a glorious mountain. Beautiful. Nice breakfast too! Simple country faire.
Very well restored historic home with Trapp family history, photos, etc. Nice property to explore inside and out. Free parking, easy to find. Our corner room had two windows and a private bath. Staff were very friendly and had great suggestions for dinner, sightseeing, parking downtown, etc.
Wifi only available in common living room. Outside the city; requires car, bus or taxi - not a problem for us, but definitely not in the heart of the action.
Everything.lovely ambience, comfortable, very luxurious feel for budget price. We got a good end of season sale.
Very quaint , homely feel to the place
WiFi only in ground floor would have preferred it in room as well.
