Hotel is in the main square very close to Donau ferry service to Vienna and to restaurants. Nice views from fon rooms. Good buffet breakfast included in room price.
There is no lift to first floor reception. This might be a problem for some.
Friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast very good, plenty to choose from. Fantastic city centre location. Fruit and water in the room on arrival, a nice touch.
Would have liked comfortable chairs in the room as we stayed for a week. Also a small safe in the bedroom would be an advantage. A complimentary bottle of water daily would have been much appreciated.
central location basic but good value
pain to unload car and park though did arrive in middle of festival
Spacious bedroom and bathroom. Breakfast wonderful and outlook and position very good.Staff very helpful.
Room at rear , not much natural light , possibly a bit damp , need much more room for clothes storage.
Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast and quiet at the back for me.
Nothing it was all good.
It's an old hotel, so expect some quirks, like an outdoor illuminated hallway. This made it hard to keep light out at night
Great breakfast and modern and spacious rooms.
Stairs to reception could prove difficult if you has heavy luggage or you were disabled.
Location was perfect. Right on the square.
I understand it is usual in Europe to not have air conditioning however it was extremely hot at night even with windows open. Staff did offer a fan which helped but we still woke several times during the night therefore didnt rest well.
staff were very friendly
In a pedestrain zone - not well signed and difficult to get to as a result. Whilst able to leave the car for 30 mins, to unload, you have to spot the hotel first No lift to reception on 1st floor
Beautiful room, quirky individual building and utterly charming employees
Good location. Nice old style of the room. Closed parking. Good staff.
very friendly staff, wonderful location at the main square, romantic interior
We went to Linz for a festival and this hotel was right in the middle of the festival.
This place was so awful we checked in and within 30 minutes checked out and went and stayed at another hotel. We turned our key in and check out and still were charged for our full 3 days of lodging. The staff was unpleasant to deal with and not very welcoming. There was no air circulation and no fans available. The room we were given was way in the back and at the top of hotel with one window that looked out over the roof of the building behind the hotel. The room (especially the bathroom) was not clean. There was dust everywhere and dirt on the bedding. The single overhead light fixture flickered and was not functioning properly. There was only one key for the room which was on an enormous bobble. They requested we leave the key with them when we stepped out which would have been a pain to deal with had we decided to stay. This place needs a rennovation. For the high price they charge travelers have certain expectations and they are no where near meeting the base minimums.
location is excellent. very clean. beautiful room with special taste. nice service. good breakfast.
not air conditioned sophisticated parking
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was lovely, very quiet but the bathroom was a little cramped. The breakfast was excellent as was the wifi reception. The location was superb, in the main square. It is easy to get to from the main station. Take the tram to the city centre, get off at Hauptplatz and the hotel is on the right as you look towards the statue.
The duvet on warm nights.
Excellent location. Great looking period interiors, excellent breakfast in dining hall.
Old furniture is somewhat shabby, creaking...
Very nice hotel in a great location and staff was very helpful. Breakfast was a wonderful buffet.
the central location, courtesy of staff and good breakfast
having no view because of the very high window in our room, and not being aware that we would have to carry a heavy suitcase to the first floor lift level.
The location was excellent, and the breakfast superb. The staff were very friendly and always incredibly helpful - I was very impressed. It was a very atmospheric hotel, and the bed and pillows were comfortable.
The room had a window into an internal corridor, which meant that there wasn't much light and also that it was a little noisy when people were going back to their rooms. It wasn't too much of a problem though!
Love the rustic, musuem like character of the hotel. It is unique and location is great! Breakfast room was lovely.
nothing major, shower room would be better if enclosed.
Most charming hotel, however Roomes in garden house more regular. Good breakfast.
No air condition.
The location, historical significance, comfort, breakfast, and staff were all above our expectations. Located near many shops, restaurants, and the river. Would love to come back.
A little expensive for my budget but reasonable considering all the positives
No tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Directions from Linz Hauptbahnhof by public transport should be via tram as it stops almost at the front door of the hotel and leaves the station every few minutes from its underground tram station.
Good location in town square. Bicycle storage in small bike storage room.
Old building. Our room was in back/rear of hotel. Room small and dated, needs full refurbishment. Bathroom small and needs to be updated. Shower ran cold for 30 seconds. Some staff helpful and friendly, some not. Not a comfortable stay. Room smelt of damp. TV did not work. Told the evening reception staff but they told me to go away. No air conditioning. Did not use wifi
Great location! Comfortable, elegant, quiet and spacious rooms. Wonderful staff. Fabulous breakfast buffet in classic antique filled dining room.
Make sure you ask for a first floor room as there is no lift.
