The trade-off for a small privately run hotel is that it is not fully-staffed round-the-clock to attend to every need. This was not a negative for us but may be for some. The sweet owner left our key and instructions for everything, including where to find free parking, because we checked in after 9 pm. There is no elevator (again, we were in town to ski and are able-bodied, so this was no big deal, particularly since a large ski/boot room is provided just off the main entrance).
Small family-operated, beautifully refinished, large rooms with comfortable beds, big modern showers, and common areas with lots of attention to detail. Not fancy but extensive and delicious breakfast buffet with all the basics of high quality.
