Excelent location in the city center, near from metro and main attractions, excelent reception and wifi
Rooms very small
Size of the room
Proximity to major attractions and transport links. Friendliness of the staff. We were given a welcome drink and checked in straight away on arrival even though we were hours early. Breakfast was plentiful and had a wide variety of meats, cheese, fruit etc to choose from.
The only thing we found difficult was the noise from the street below in the late evening. There is no aircon in the room so we slept with the windows open. this wasn't a problem the first night as we were really tired and there wasn't too much noise. However, on the second night I eventually had to close the window in order to get to sleep. This shouldn't be too much of a problem for most of the year but if it's a hot summer night it could be annoying.
Good breakfast (included in the price), helpful staff, very good location.
Can get hot in the summer (no air conditioning). Opening the windows at night may work, but then you get street noise if your room faces out (late pm revelers, early am construction workers and delivery trucks).
The staff were really friendly and helpful and it was great to stay in a very central hotel with such an authentic feel to it. Breakfast was really nice.
Rooms were small and the bathroom was tiny.
Situated in a very center location nearby Opera but the hotel is terribly noisy by the garbage cars repeats a huge noise throwing bottles in the early morning human being cannot stand such a huge noise
Lovely hotel with great location. "Everything" on the door step.Lovely Lady in the kitchen/breakfast service. The dinning area absolutely georgous! Breakfast... we did not leave hungry...
Lack of airconditioning! we couldn't keep the window open over night (noisy street) so ended up rolling in beds till 4 o'clock in the morning. The room was definatelly too small for 2 persons - could hardly walk around the bed. Bathroom for a dwarf...But its an old building so everything is sort of squized in.
This is very typical of older German / Austrian hotels. Small rooms with the essentials. Tiny bathroom, no a/c, but the windows open and they had an oscillating fan in the room. It was perfect for what I needed. This is not the Ritzy place but the location is excellent and the staff could not have been nicer.
Breakfast Dining room servers Location
Rude inflexible staff Tiny rooms TVs tiny--12" screens, sometimes no reception No ice--or, 4-6 ice cubes begrudgingly given if requested Unspoken, unposted "policies" Lots of street noise
Excellent service from attentive staff. Central to most tourist and cultural sites. An excellent breakfast which varied from day to day, not the same thing every day.
Excellent location - an easy stroll to the airport CAT train terminal, Karlsplatz underground station, many tourist attractions and restaurants, TU Wien, etc. Safe area for solo travellers. Nice room - spotlessly clean, comfortable ( though quite small), good quality mattress, charming atmosphere, professional and friendly staff.
At 6:30 each morning the garbage and delivery trucks make a lot of noise outside and it's too hot in summer to sleep with the window closed. But if you shut the window early morning this is not a problem.
Very small bathroom, legacy of the old imperial building layout.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Good central location. Breakfast good.
Room very hot. Not easy to open windows. No air conditioning. Fan provided but not that efficient. Shower area very tight on space.
This is the second time I have stayed here. The staff were pleasant and very helpful with suggestions, bookings, and directions. The location is excellent for access to places such as the Opera House, and 'Golden Hall' and Spanish Riding School. I enjoyed the choice at breakfast. My room was pleasant and had all I required. If I return to Vienna I will certainly plan to stay here.
Excellent location near all the important sites in Vienna. The staff was extremely helpful, even repeatedly calling the airlines inquiring after our lost luggage. Hearty breakfast. Hotel is very charming, in an 1896 building.
Location cannot be surpassed; the staff is lovely.
Some rooms were small though that was fine.
very helpful and friendly staff, good breakfasts
Location, staff, breakfast, atmosphere.
The squeaking of the wood floor.
I am treated like family by the staff when I stay there. The location could not be better. I can't wait to return next year.
The staff and the location.
Lack of AC.
The staff and location are just great. Breakfast was nice, too.
Sometimes street nose would get you out of bed a little earlier than you wanted, and of course the room and especially the bathroom were quite small.
Compact and efficient hotel in really excellent location right on the edge of the central pedestrian zone so that access by car and taxi is good. Room was reasonably spacious, very clean with very comfortable beds. It's a long time since i have seen an old 'box-type tv' in a hotel and that needs to be updated. Free internet was very good.
The public spaces of the hotel were very small so that the breakfast room was rather cramped and there was nowhere to store luggage axcept right in the very small reception area. I was a bit disappointed by their inflexible attitude to their 11am checkout deadline. I was due to depart to the airport at 2 pm and they would not allow any additional time even thought it was a Sunday morning, there were no guests waiting to check in and the cleaning trolley was nowhere to be seen. At 11.05 the receptionist was callying me to vacate the room forthwith. Apart from this the staff were friendly and helpful.
Good location with nice and helpful staff. Breakfast buffet good.
My single room was very disappointing -it was too small to be comfortable. The bathroom was so small I had to dry myself standing half in the bedroom...The room was also full of old furniture -too many.
Good location of the hotel, very close to sightseeing spots and subway station. Room is neat and clean, also quiet, comfortable to stay. Staffs are kind and intimate.
Bed is too soft to sleep comfortablly.
Room was way too small
