I found the staff very friendly, helpful and efficient. I particularly enjoyed Con, who gave me a brief history of Adelaide :) I was surprised to be introduced to the owner at the front desk. I also enjoyed the central location which was close to all amenties and shopping. I liked the character and design of the old victorian building - the wooden stairwell and the upstairs balcony. I liked the fact that air con was available for the heat wave that occurred last week. I liked the relaxed atmosphere, friendly environment. I didn't particularly like the fact that there were several 'room calls' per day during the morning (ie. 9.45Am and again at 11ish am) to check to see that no-one was overstaying. Although I understand that a room check is necessary, is two room calls within a short space of time essential? Is there perhaps a better system to monitor overstayers? In other backpackers this doesn't happen. Despite the room being clean in the main walking areas, under the bed and around the sides of the bunks were nail clippings, dust, etc, which showed that the room had not been vaccummed properly for a very long time. I would recommend a weekly vaccum under the bunks and around the sides of the beds. I also wondered about the cleanliness of bathrooms and toilets, although I couldn't test this.

Quiet and roomy. Good neighbourhood, amenities close by, a good location to explore the city from. Special price deals available that had not been available to me online, meaning that by booking in advance, I paid more for my stay than people who turned up on spec. The point of online booking is that it should be the other way around.

the hostal is clean and you can relax everywhere, they have a good sunny terrace. they have a lot of books you can read, and there is a big tv. they give you free rice to cook. internet and washing machine are too expensive...and checkout time is too early!!!

Kitchen was very difficult to navigate when more than 4-5 people were in it. Needs to be laid out better. Also a more friendly environment such as group activities.
