Score from 192 reviews Very good
It was situated in a good location, surrounded by restaurants and bars. Two bottle shops and an IGA were located close by. There was a 15 min walk to the CBD. The room was affordable - $26 per night and a decent size for what you'd expect in a backpackers. For facilities I only used the toilet and shower, with no problems and little wait. Staff were friendly.
It was a bit messy and there was a body odour smell around certain areas. This is neutral but there is a $10 deposit for key insurance which you get back when you return the key, so keep an extra tenner on you.
The staff is absolutely great!! Everybody is so friendly, and caring. Genuinely nice people.
Room door n bed were bad
My partner and I appreciated that the reception greeting was splendid and the man there was kind to show us around and make us fell right at home :)
Parking was bad
position and could use tourist bus. parking at the back of the hostel did not seem very secure.
condition of the fridges. one room looked at with single beds had no windows but double up stairs was better
The people, the room and the location.
The size of the off road parking. It needs to be a bit bigger
The staff and the help they offered - they supplied towels and a DVD player when we asked for them
The cleanliness of the place, location of our room (rm 42, didn't feel particularly private)
Beds clean and comfortable Got clean towels when asked for
Dirty torn capets taps dripped very run down
Staffs are friendly and glad to answer questions about ways and trips.
After-hours checkin and checkout was simple and easy.
staff was friendly, area is good not in city centre, so less noise.. close to eating places, but can be quite costly if you are on a tight budget.
I don't think this place has smoke alarms, as the one night i stayed, someone had burnt something in the kitchen, it just smoked up the entire first floor. The hostel is quite old though, probably best for some sort of renovation needed..
I like being close to the city and all facilities. I love Hutt Street.
Not enough parking at the rear. Too many steep stairs inside. It made me feel unsafe.
The Price was excellent for anyone with low income. Even though some rooms beds might remind you of a jail, it still was confortable and the rooms clean.
I have nothing to complain actually..
The dirtiest hostel I've ever stayed in.
Sealink tourism agency in frount desk, convienct to Kangraoo Island
far from downtown not 24 hour service
The hostel is a little bit far from the city centre. I had to walk like for 30 minutes from the bus station. My room was dirty and did not have a lock (it was broken). They close the reception at 7pm, so watch out if you are coming later as you may have some trouble in getting to your room. I can not imagine a single reason for staying here to be honest. I changed to Adelaide YHA the following day and it was one pf the best hostels I have ever been to!
LOUD NOISE the whole night, no enforcement of curfew whatsoever, Dirt everywhere, especially in bathrooms
All rooms infested with bedbugs!
Yeah! You need a bit of night time control because we could not sleep due to some sleepless people making noises. The cleanliness of kitchen, laundry room and balcony is also to be improved at least in standard where we will think come again as a choice.
closeness to the CBD
The bed sheet was dirty even though the reception staff said it was changed. It smelt used.
Very friendly staff, would recommend to others
Close to everything
Pretty much all, photos are a lie, the place smells. The most dirty hostel I've ever stayed in. Purposely over book and don't honour booking commitments of 4 per room & over charged booked rate. Extremely overcrowded. Poor hygiene in toliets, kitchen filthy. Over heard a council fire inspector say the place is a death trap and that sums it up nicely, the building is about to collapse from cracks and god help anyone who gets stuck in fire there, for most of the time there were no exit signs and when there was hard to follow. Also look after your stuff as there are a lot of theives. There is only one women's bathroom for dozens of beds and you have to climb stairs to get there - which is no good if you're busting. For what you get, I'd spend the money else where next time I return to adelaide
That my room had a bathroom inside. 4 bed girls dorm.
The mess in the kitchen.
