Alto Hotel On Bourke  

We enjoyed our stay at the Alto.Excellent location near to trams and trains. The staff were pleasant and helpful which contributed to the very happy atmosphere in the hotel.Accommodation was comfortable and breakfast/dining facilities were first class . Free coffee and hot chocolate were an added bonus. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we highly recommend the Alto Hotel

The staff was very professional and helpful. The hotel is nice and a good location. Not far from South Cross station. Good coffee machine in lobby.

Location, staff, comfort, and amenities - Alto on Bourke has it all! Our room was a good size and the bathroom was extremely nice. The eco- friendliness of the hotel was a bonus, and the staff were very helpful and nice. The dining room/lounge was small but inviting. Breakfast (included in our rate) was cooked to order and delicious, and we also enjoyed a dinner that was very good - especially considering the tiny size of the kitchen! The hotel is a very short walk from the airport bus and also on a tram line. Melbourne is a wonderful city and exceptionally nice for bicycling. There are bike trails and bike lanes everywhere and no hills to speak of!

This is an exceptional hotel which cares for the environment and for guests. The staff are friendly, helpful and sincere, the rooms have all conveniences necessary, there are lovely extras such as the exchange library, and the restaurant is excellent quality and value. I highly recommend this hotel; I wish I'd discovered it earlier.

Some people might find the location is a little further downtown than they would like, though it is very handy to the Skybus depot and there are trams nearby for those who don't like to walk.

The room was a little smaller than I like, but it is such a good location you tend to be out all the time anyway.

We liked the close proximity to Southern Cross station and Southbank.

Lack of daylight in room - office wall a few feet from window. But we knew that was likely beforehand and for one night it didn't matter much.

The location is good which is near Southern Cross station. Easy and convenient from - to airport by Skybus. There is tram service on Bourke street. The rate is inclusive breakfast and free wifi. The speed of wifi was fast and we had quality breakfast. Best value for money. The staff were helpful and provide good service. I will stay at this hotel on my next trip to Melbourne. And lastly I have no complaint on the service.

Location suited us,

Our daughter had booked another room at the same time, hers was bigger and had a slightly better view, ours faced a wall and was very small, hotel needs refurbishment. We did not complain about the room as we were told they were full because of the tennis. We used the restaurant at the hotel and food was ok nothing special. Staff on reception were friendly and helpful, think poor management in giving poor quality rooms to people staying a few nights, as I know we spent a lot more than our daughter who moved on to a different hotel. Our daughter's room was the same price as ours.
