Checking out ! Overated boutique hotel. If you booked by internet it appears you are treated as substandard guest. Quality of food - in room and restaurant - is overpriced and substandard . Makes the Maccas across road look good. Staff vague about surrounding areas. Four seasons Hotel nearby looks way better location. Constant reminders in restaurant etc that if you pay by credit card you pay a surcharge. Unbelievable attitude in this day and age.

I found it not anywhere near the kind of 5star hotels I've stayed in before. The original room we booked was nowhere near the standard it shown to be on the internet, needless to say only one night was spent in it. The bed linen was not changed when it was asked for. The lights in the bathroom blew half way through our stay, and reception sent a porter up to try and fix it. Needless to say we had to improvise and use the one beside lamp that worked. Only one of the bedside lamps worked. The key cards for the lifts were forever not working. The business centre could do with a good dusting down. They were never enough towels down at the leisure centre/swimming pool. In my personal opinion it should be downgraded to a four star. Don't think I'll be staying there again in a hurry!

Nothing, it's a horrible place In the Amora you're not a guest, but just revenue. The pool is cold and not very clean, the rooms are not at all up to standards. A noisy, shabby 'luxury' hotel with single glass windows, ridiculious prices for everything. A set meal in the restaurant was not available but advertised everywhere, just because they wouldn't lose an extra $5,- or so. A shameful place, and not at a very good location either, unless you need to be in the least pleasant part of de cbd. This place should not be listed on any hotel booking site.

Good clean hotel with good spacious rooms. The Location is just amazing with harbour bridge and opera house just a stones throw away.... Really happy with my stay there, though i stayed during the New Year peak period and hence the value for money bit was a bit lacking.... Still a very good experience.... Better value for money and competitive rates would help...

The location is good in regards to the rest of the city, within walking distance to to the heart of the city for sight seeing and not a strenuous walk. The greeting at first entry was very polite and efficient Even thou the stay was only one day I could not fault the Hotel although I think some modernisation of the rooms/furniture could be updated. The furniture just felt a little drab

Location, within walking distance to main attractions such as the Rocks, Circular Quay, Opera House. Slightly off George street main shopping area/road, convenient if you want to drop off your stuff at the hotel first, then walk to george street to continue with your shoppping or other activities. Too close to office buildings. Im lucky to have a corner room at 26 floor and stayed during holiday season,I imagine other lower rooms may be less convenient since the hotel is very close to office buldings nearby. Even my bathroom window is facing office window. I have to close the blind everytime I use the bathroom.

Excellent location The inbargo bar and charr restaurant were closed. Low value for money. Air flow from a/c blows right into your face when you sleep, this is not comfortable.

The location is the only positive. Badly designed room. TV in cupboard, no table for drinks etc, not good value for money, fridge leaking, blind broken. For what it is advertised as it does not show in either star rating or facilities. The pool is nice but very dangerous slippery floor. Gym is not very adequate.

The gym was laughable (one of the main reasons I booked here) it was approximately the size of and average travel lodge room with 5 or so pieces of equipment in. The location although in the cbd of sydney, is still a fair walk from circular quay (would hate to do this if I had small children or was old) .....Our room faced a couple of other high rise buildings (we were floor 18) and in the next building, there was a guy who seemed to enjoy looking into the hotel windows..............im wondering what he was looking at??

Its so convenient to get to the hotel from the airport (the train stop is close) easy check-in and out. I have no complaints. I will stay here again the next time I visit sydney for biz. But I do think that it was a little pricey - but then again all the other hotels were as well - for that period.

Very good, 8.4
Score from 116 reviews
“Location was very central, everything was very close. Shopping, restaurants, and the harbour are all minutes walk away. The staff was extremely helpful and polite. The facilities in the suite were ideal for a family with young children since we had to do a lot of cooking or food heating for the baby. The gym was a good sized gym with almost all the equipment needed for a full body workout available. ” Hamad, Alain |
