This hotel is a little eccentric in its decoration - all rooms are differently decorated - but the facilities are very good, and its extremely comfortable and close to the centre of town.
The most comfortable bed we have slept in. Beautiful antique room. Nice selection and quality of condiments.
No kitchen facilities, had to wash plates in the bathroom sink.
Quiet location, private with a touch of romantic ambience and a night cap supplied - Port was amazing!
Not a complaint by any means.. but if you are a light sleeper and toss and turn all night, our bed was a little squeaky... Fortunately as we slept like logs, this was not an issue for us!

The décor of the room was perfect and spacious - loved the historic atmosphere - and relaxed friendly approach from the staff (Hannah)
The beautiful old building, and how the owners had kept all the period features.
Bathroom was a joke - a spa bath and basin in the corner of the bedroom. Nowhere to place anything while using basin to shave or put on make-up etc. Lighting was poor. No bedside tables to place any thing on. Quaint but not comfortable!
Very good accommodation and facilities in unit.
Only there one night, and didn't have any negative views.
Stayed in the Captains Apartment. Very nice and roomy. Everybody very friendly and accommodating
Beautiful quirky restoration of a one bedroom unit in a large historic house, close to city centre but not too close, easy parking. Suited us exactly but might not suit someone accustomed to the Hilton. Quiet, very comfortable with very generous continental breakfast an option, and strawberries to dip in hot chocolate. Warm welcome. Host suited the house.
Can't think of anything
We loved it here and I could have happily moved in! We chose "Rosalie's Retreat" apartment and it was just lovely. The attention to detail the current owners have made in relation to fixtures and fittings is excellent. We loved the feel of the place, it was clean and comfortable with everything catered for. I loved the selection of teas, the quirky old fridge and the bathroom was fantastic! This is a very special hotel and I would highly recommend anyone to stay here. The owner was a really friendly guy and it's clear all the love and attention he has put into this very special house. I would definitely recommend to anyone who loves history and wants to stay in a unique building. I left a piece of my heart behind in the beautiful Annesley House :)
Loved the quirky style of Annesley House. If you like different and interesting then stay here, we loved it.
Eclectic mix of vintage furniture, faithful restoration of old house, close to town centre. Lots to see and do.
This is a beautiful property with large comfortable rooms and very friendly manager (and dog!). Great value for money and very well located close to shops and services. Highly recommended!
Wifi was problematic at the time.
Great place as piece of history.. Quite amazing..
Size of the rooms was very good and quiet location close to town
Wifi did not work
Everything - especially Sid (the dog)!
Loved everything about it - gorgeous room with character and excellent facilities. Gracious old building and a very warm host. We had the Wadmore room and love the four poster bed and spa bath.
Didn't realise we needed to order our breakfast before three pm so needed to go out for breakfast - no bit deal and Mark probably would have organised something if we asked anyway - he was that sort of host.
I could hear the pumping in the honeymoon suite
Big house with history. Very special experience.
Only one air-conditioner in the living room. No heating in both bedroom (I live in the Housekeeper's Room). But electric blankets do help.
The atmosphere -nostalgic return to times gone by. The building has been renovated in keeping with its history , but with mod cons that we need today
Warm welcome, spotless clean apartment, lovely amenities
Loved the kitchen in the doctors rooms. Old feel to the house, bit spooky at times......but felt like I had stepped back in time.
Thought the bathroom was a bit cold.. thought the beds (in two rooms of doctor's quarters) and lounge didn't really suit the "upmarket " marketing of the house, but for the price we paid it was very economical so guess that balances it all out. Mark was very helpful and friendly.Loved the extra touches of port and anzac biscuits and freddo frogs.
The apartment was spacious and well equipped. Right in town within easy walking distance of restaurants.
