Beautiful old building, comfortable room, friendly service, great after hours security and very central
Convenient location right opposite her majesty theatre.
Too many stairs and no connection between upper levels.
location comfort spacious room comfortable bed good breakfast
Downstairs rooms a little dark because no external windows.
The breakfast and staff were very polite and efficient. The location was excellent for our purposes.
Sadly I was woken before 6am by a lot of noise caused by what sounded like items being wheeled along the concrete floor of the atrium area and/or a roller door being opened. The other issue was very limited parking available in the street outside the hotel and had to park around the corner,
excellent location, unusual layout internally
was unsure about bedroom window looking out into main hotel corridor, and felt the need to keep blinds closed, but was quite nice that it was unusual.
Old world feel. Easy to walk to local attractions
Absence of a lift, not good for older people as a result. No offer to take suit cases upstairs. Room was a bit sruffy and window could not be opened.
Very convenient location. Breakfast was excellent and individually cooked to order. Rooms were clean and functional. We particularly liked the Mini Hi Fi which took USB SDcard CD and i Pod connections apart from AM and FM Radio.
A very minor issue. It would have been convenient to have a power point on the desk near the electric kettle. All the existing power points were utilised and located close to the floor. Wi Fi was free, but the signal was not strong enough in our room - (1st floor) Excellent downstairs in lobby and library / dining area etc.
Spacious building. A sense of history The building is comforting Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Teresa . Good food, good service.
Nothing of significance
This hotel did not represent value for money. I thought the standard of the room was very poor considering it cost $219 per night. The staff were not welcoming and hardly spoke to us during check in our checkout. The breakfast was very limited and not well cooked. There was no internet access available during our stay. We would not stay here again or recommend this hotel.
The staff were friendly and helpful Location to restaurants was good The bed was very comfortable The rooms, restaurant, linen etc were clean and fresh The price was reasonable for the quality of the stay.
We couldn't stay in town longer.
In the centre of town, with friendly staff and an enjoyable, good value restaurant.
Small room; no parking.
The staff were wonderful and accomofating and the breakfast in the restaurant was delicious xx thanks for a great stay !!
Restaurant was excellent...food & service Bed comfortable Facilities good
Room to warm for us...unable to have window open...just us!
Interesting building history
An oasis in a bustling city.
We liked the friendly & attentive service. We loved the warm Atrium area.
The courtyard area, restaurant carpet & blinds in rooms could use good clean/ upgrade.
It was close to the restaurant we went to.
although a very beautiful hotel. We were upgraded apparently. Put into a boger room. But wow being down stairs we heard every single noise from creaky stairs to snoring even someone going to the toilet. I was disappointed paying $149 And not even being able to sleep. I don't think I would stay there again.
The very friendly staff and excellent breakfast. Within walking distance (even in the rain) to central shopping district.
The meals were value for money and very nice, the staff were very accomadating and friendly, the location was in tge heart of the city and everytging was accesable, the hotel was very nice exactly like the photos.
That it was close for my daughters performances
The parking was shocking. As I have a crook hip there wasn't anything close by where I could leave my car.
Position. Cheaper than Craigs. Very pleasant environment with an Atrium. Would be nice in warmer weather. Pleasant entrance. We had a pleasant two room booking with a small sitting area.
No welcome on arrival - just fill in the form - a smile would have been welcome. Returned a very under-cooked pasta and told it was not undercookedl. I could have had something else, but wasn't inclined. Bed a little hard. Bed a little too hard. Steep stairs to climb even with small hand-luggage.
Location, quiet, seating areas.
Wouldn't like to deal with the parking mid week in Ballarat.
Breakfast Downstairs lounge Quiet rooms Clean accommodation
Staff excellent, the food was great. Comfy beds with plenty of pillows. Beautiful room and friendly atmosphere.
They used two sheets as a doona cover, which was odd. There was also a skylight which made the room a little too bright first thing in the morning.
