The excellent restoration of this magnificent Victorian building shows how clever and considerate are the owners. They have incorporated luxury comfort without losing the features of the building, and the modern extension to the property blends seamlessly. Throughout the place are cosy reading nooks and a marvellous and eclectic selection of fabulous books, art and memorabilia, placed always to enhance the sense of design. The owners are warm and friendly and add to the overall sense of welcome and serenity. The weekend continental breakfast was excellent. Overall we felt a sense of calm in this lovely place.

I was thrilled that the begonias in the botanic gardens were still in full bloom ( mid April) . I was moved by the exhibit on the Eureka Stockage. I was impressed with the large number of elegant historic buildings in the city.

Ballarat has much to offer all ages.
Ballarat has much to offer all ages. Plenty for young children, teenagers, young adults and older adults. It has many good places to eat, all reasonably priced, from coffee shops, up market restaurants and good pub bistro food. Ballarat is easy to get around, just use google maps or your navcam

A wonderful city with history, family experiences and a great lake surrounded by trees, play equipment and restaurants. Lots of experiences for families to enjoy especially the Eureka Discovery Centre , Sovereign Hill settlement and the Aura night show, Art Museum and Avenue of Honour. The city also has excellent restaurants and hotels to choose from for families or couples.

Very historic town and still retains lots of its original architecture.
I did run out of things to do so did travel to Daylesford for one day.
Otherwise, it is a nice place to visit, more than once, and does offer some lovely tourist spots.
Beautiful courtyard in the centre of the apartments to look out into from the lounge room. Tables & chairs outside for when the sun comes out. Friendly staff. Comfy beds. Clean apartment. Daily servicing if required. Quiet & beautiful surroundings in whole hotel complex. Service station & meal options nearby. Our main reason for booking was a reasonable price in school holidays when others triple the price. Right opposite Sovereign Hill which is great for families. We’ll be back!
I had to come to Ballarat to care for a very very sick family member, and the staff have fallen over themselves to help me in any way they can. And if you’re up here for a holiday, the location is epic - right across the road from Soverign Hill. The spa baths are the biggest I have come across in a hotel bathroom 👌🏼great place - highly recommend.
The hotel is simply superb in every way and rare to find, from the warm welcome we received, the breakfasts and the hospitality we were shown. The owners have created a paradise in what was just an old building. We would recommend Hotel Vera to anyone travelling to the Ballarat region.
Location is perfect in the centre of Ballarat. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Our early arrival and additional room request were both handled without fuss by reception. We had dining arrangements made elsewhere so didn't get to eat in the hotel. We will definitely stay again.
Good size, location & facilities. I come up weekly for work & looking to find an affordable option. Good transition from hotels to moving up, felt more like living in Ballarat with a kitchen & living room.
The hotel was really lovely, with its beautiful classic style but with modern comforts. The breakfast was also delicious and staff friendly and helpful. It was conveniently located in the centre of town.
The day of the booking reception called and asked if we wanted a free upgrade to the guest house. I was with my family so it was perfect. Gave an AirBnB vibe. Lovely town house for no extra cost.
Location excellent. All staff were friendly & helpful! Food at restaurant was excellent! Ambience of hotel was excellent. We would definitely stay at Oscars next time we come to Ballarat.
The property is a roomy up market detached house. All the facilities needed are provided and the host is genuinely nice, lives up to the hype of always happy to help
Clean, comfortable and well stocked with breakfast supplies Eureka Views was perfect for our stay in Ballarat. We would not hesitate to stay here again.
