Apartments Ink St Kilda  

the location excellent. close to trams, at st. kilda road and on chapel st. and train on carlyle st. supermarket at the building. kitchen and kitchenettes, washer and dryer, dishwasher - all in the apartment. house-keeping mon-fri. secured parking.

TV was way too small and mounted too high. Had no ea ing service the entire time I was there, I did not want it on one day, but even when I placed the "make up my room" sign on the door, it still wasn't done.... Was having visitors that night, and had to clean myself, and request towels... Offered nothing in return, or even a discount on my next visit.

Extremely clean apartment and very friendly and helpful reception staff. We visited Melbourne in the middle of a 4 week holiday in Australia and wanted somewhere with laundry facilities to do a mid-holiday wash. The apartment was very well-appointed and felt like a little home away from home which was very welcome at the halfway point of our holiday. The apartments are situated right next to a medium sized supermarket which was very convenient.

The location near St Kilda was reasonable.

The soft furniture such as couch, and dining chairs were filthy, and smelt like they hadn't been steam cleaned in years. The lounge was stained, and looked like it had been for years. The access via the lift shared with Aldi Shopping Centre was a joke, so bags and stairs all the way. The internet was non existent. The 3.5% fee for Amex was well beyond the merchant fees actually charged. We had to leave a day earlier because we couldn't stand it another minute. Oh, a refund on the last day, yeah right. We paid well over $1500 for 8 nights stay, and were charged $50 just in case we made a phone call from the room instead of our mobiles. Cleaning the rooms was a joke, as it took the house keeping 2 days to realise we were even there. Then there was the Police locking us out of the security parking due to a crime scene lasting two days. The permanent residence have loud dogs that bark all night. The place is an overcharged nightmare. The pictures on this site reflect the building when brand new, so don't be fooled the way we were.

It was reasonable new

1. The staff lied 2. they didnt service our room and told us we were liars 3. the general manager told me to shut up and that i was unreasonable because i was upset they didnt clean my room 4. they did a poor job making our bed often leaving linen and laptops and making the bed over them 5. didnt clean coffee cups and left them for days

I found locking the front door a bit difficult and the couple next door to us (sharing the same front entrance) walked into our room in the middle of the night by accident. Perhaps some doors that lock automatically on the outside once you close it?

Stayed there on Saturday & the next Friday after, i still havent received my $50 refund for damanges.... I keep on getting told the same thing day after day....

Can get a little noisy when the neighbours are having a gathering! Though the hotel does have a no party policy so it is policed.

The apartment was comfortable in size, having Aldi under the block was handy & walking distance to some cafe's

The apartment wasn't very clean. For instance; there were evidence of food on the walls..kitchen area not clean & a used sponge was left for our use..very unhygienic! We didn't use the oven but it was dirty.. The wooden table & chairs had grubby fingermarks on them.. Between the two lounge chairs were crushed biscuits..& the bedside tables & window sills were very dusty. There was attention to detail on cleanliness. There was a dog in the apartment next to us which did bark a bit.. Not having gauranteed parking was disappointing..overall,Quite disappointing. I'm sorry I wouldn't stay here again.

Was not at all happy with price of apartment. Because we arrived on Grand Prix Weekent the price was basically tripled . Seems all hotels milk the system on this weekend, My advice is, stay away from Melbourne when anything big is going on.!!!!!!

Close to good dining, entertainment

Cleaning of the flat was ordinary - a bottle top that was on the floor when I moved in was still there 3 days later

We were attending the 2013 Melbourne Grand Prix and this the location was excellent for accessing this event. The rooms were comfortable with the room we stayed in having a washing machine and dryer which came in very handy on the rainy days. The Aldi's downstairs was so convenient and we had other shopping areas within walking distance as well. We enjoyed staying at Apartments Ink and would stay there again if in Melbourne and going to events in the St Kilda area. A special mention must be made to Gabbies Pizza/Pasta down the end of the road, this was a treasure for a meal when you wanted something quick, easy and delicious.

There wasn't anything to not like as it suited our needs perfectly.

Private parking space, clean, close proximity to supermarket (Aldi downstairs) and spacious. Would recommend when travelling with 4 people.

Dishwasher was broken, but since we stayed only 1 night it was not really a problem.

We thought the Ink was great place to stay. Close to the restaurants and theatre.

The toilet was not clean,Which was a shame. As the rest of the appartment was nice.

Nice bathroom.

Staff were rude. Cigarette butts all over the ground in the patio for our room. Elevators didnt work.

Lifts to apartments a bit confusing

Local shopping access and closeness to major shopping. Easy access to sports grounds. Rooms a good size and excellent staff.

Pillows where too soft. Room servicing was too early in the morning.

Helpful staff with requests

Hadn't realised that we needed to prepay for our stay. We expected to have a credit card swiped on arrival and we expected to complete the transaction on departure. Happy to prepay, would have even paid it from NZ, just wasn't aware of policy or expectation.

Friendly staff, reasonable price, new and clean. Fitted out with some nice touches compared to many serviced apts.

No couch. Two single chairs is not homey or comfortable for relaxing in the evening.
