Arcadia Beach Guest House

Wildlife and relaxed nature of the place.

Located right across from the beach on a bus route and close to some good dining. I felt safe, comfortable, and slept like a baby on a comfy bed. The owners are incredibly nice people and if I make it back to Magnetic Island, I would stay there again.

Toni and Col were so nice and helpful, they often took the time to talk to us and give us advice etc. They really made our stay that much better. Great prices for snorkel hire and 4wd hire. Excellent location for ferry arrival, shops and a good base for exploring the rest of the island.

Because we slept in a safari tent it got hot and the fan wasn't that great.

A great place to get away , telling all my friends and family how nice it was to stay only wish we had more then one night ,sure will be coming back again with friends .

There was not much to like about the guest house. The breakfast included was very bare and you had to like vegemite. Everything is old tired and cheap. The service was not impressive either, I called beforehand to change the number of guests from 2 to 3, but she did not take any action on it and the futon was not made up nor were there enough towels.

It was dirty, cheap. You couldn't open the door because it opened out onto the footpath where other guests were walking past. Would not stay there again.

We slept in a platform tent....very interesting and fun.

The couple managing the Guest House were friendly and helpful and went to great lengths to accommodate the very different needs of guests. The location is brilliant and walking distance to a deli and a hotel for low cost meals as well as the ferry terminal. The managers were happy to provide transport to and from the ferry. I would highly recommend staying there for a low budget place with a variety of types of accommodation with all the facilities one needs.

I was a bit concerned I could not lock my safari tent, however I was able to lock important items in the safe in the office.

Interior of the room was well done, comfortable and cosy.

Price. The price is double that of a similar room i paid for in Townsville and almost the same price paid for a room in Best Western in Cairns. The Townsville room was a little less well decorated but essentially the same - room for two, ensuite bathroom towels provided.

This was a great nostalgia trip to bring back memories of past visits Alice and Tom. Colin's courtesy with the Rolls and Toni's friendliness were most encouraging.

The owners are very friendly and give very good advices to enjoy Magnetic Island in the best way. The room, and also the kitchen and the equipments you can use are great, and give us a very good confort. The hostel is very well located and it is very easy to enjoy all the good spots from it. Thanks for all, it was perfect !

Penny & Chris were excellent hosts - considering I had made an error in the booking and had to stay an extra night (3). Tom's Cabin suited our family perfectly plenty of room - 4 adults, would stay there again given the opportunity, close to shop and restaurant. Thought renting a car was a better option for seeing the island at our own pace. Very reasonable rate for the Suzuki from the Arcadia Guest House. The whole family totally enjoyed the experience of Magnetic Island and are planning on getting back there, and would certainly stay at Toms Cabin again.

From arrival to departure, we had the best time. Penny + Kris made us very welcome. I would recomend Arcadia Guest House.

Great central location on the Island. Friendly and helpful hospitality of Guest House managers. Relaxed , casual and authentic setting of beach house facilities. You sleep with the sound of the sea and the birds. A geniune sense of experiencing a slice of Magnetic Island's simple living and holiday history.

Everything. It's such a lovingly planned and put together place; very picturesque with the gardens, and spotlessly clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the safari tent...even the possums came to say goodnight. Penny and Chris took excellent care of us, got us to and from the ferry and were so good about everything we asked and needed. Wish we'd had more time to explore the island, make use of the pool and pool table, and generally enjoy the place. THANK YOU!
