comfortable beds pleasant staff
self locking doors of bedrooms - unsafe with small children
Clean, close to city, friendly staff
No city map at the reception.Electric cooker barely worked, only one heater, the smallest one was functioning
location, staff and cleanliness
couldn't believe how small the room was
Deposit charged twice in error. Refunded at a loss of $ to us!! Shower didn't work, only trickled out!! Took five days to fix!! Bed hard as a rock, had to go out and buy a topper pad simply to get a nights sleep. Fine for uni students but not for holidayers. Very disappointed
The sauna wasn't working and that was one of our main purpose to stay at the hotel. Didn't clean out room for 2 days because of the 'public holiday'
Location was great
Rooms smelt a bit, had trouble with a door in our room and had to be moved somewhere else in the middle of the night as couldn't get fixed. Staff weren't able to help until the morning even though the reception is open 24/7
Location is fantastic as Arrow is close to city and Lygon St with Tram stop out the front.
The queen bed mattresses need to be replaced as they are very hard and sink in the middle.
we have stayed at Arrow many times and find it very convienient for trams, railway, theatres and we enjoy the kitchen We.ll be back again.
only a 10 minute walk to Federation square. It was clean and they gave me fresh towels daily
Couch, I like to curl up and read or watch TV I couldn't. I like a Mug not a tiny tea cup. Bed was OK for a couple of nights, I was there for a week!!! Would I stay there again I don't think so.
Customer service. Poor cleaning of room before check in
Bed lumpy and uncomfortable. Pillow too flat. Can't watch tv in bed. Milk was curdled
Staff were friendly, polite and always accommodating. They helped to print out things for me, booked us a taxi, and while I was in the lobby they even helped a guest get a spanner for their bike! Really good customer service. Facilities were good, for those who are curious, kitchen is stocked with the basics (a medium sized pot, a small frying pan, 2 sets of cutlery and dinnerware, 2 kitchen knives, a spatula, can opener, tongs, spaghetti scoop, small chopping board and 2 hotplates). As food in Melbourne can be expensive, we saved a ton of money cooking our meals. We stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment and it was cosy with lots of power outlets! Large flatscreen TV. Location is great, just on the outer part of the CBD but close enough to it to walk down to it (and of course located on the famous Swanston Street) yet far enough that you won't get annoyed by the nighttime noise of the CBD. Also a short walk up to Lygon Street as well. There's a tram stop right in front of the hotel (Queensberry/ Swanston). We visited early till mid September, so weather was a bit chilly but every room had a heater. View is nothing to shout about, our apartment faced an office building but we were out most of the time anyway so it was not a big deal. Another plus is the cafe downstairs (Crema Cafe) with good coffee and equally friendly staff, also there's a well-stocked convenience store just next door with nice owners too. Gym and laundry facilities are also available, we didn't use it but did have a look at the gym - it's a small gym located in the apartments next door (was empty when we went to have a look) but seems to have most of the essential equipment.
No free Internet! If you want Internet, you either need to fork out AUD 25 a day (need to let the reception know) or you can get Internet from Crema Cafe downstairs but with a minimum spend of AUD 5 (I think...can't remember exactly how much it was) and for ONE hour only. Never quite figured out what channels were on the TV so a TV guide would've been helpful. Would be great if there was a DVD player with DVDs to borrow as well.
Not too far from Melbourne Central, tramp station at door step.
Too close to the next building, the sunshade screens have to draw down at all time. Feeling trap in the room.
proximity to trams kitchenette plenty of pillows clean room
street noise - even on 9th floor. Make sure your window is fully closed. Tiny coffee cups sofa bed took 25 mins to put away so we could walk past. i was travelling with elderly mother.
Arrow on Swanson is great value. It doesn't pretend to be anything it isn't. its not fancy or glamorous but neat and clean and meets our needs. I have stayed here a couple of times with friends and will stay again. Arrow does happen to be in a fantastic location. Its a 10 minute walk to Vic markets, 10 minutes to Logon st, 20 mins to Brunswick st and Bourke st mall, and numerous trams stopping just out the front door
The sofa bed in our apartment was difficult to fold away and uncomfortable to sleep on. We needed extra quilts but couldn't be delivered till after 11pm.
Kitchen area and balcony were really good.
location; adjacent to tram stop - quiet room - friendly helpful staff - swift lifts close to reception - good positioning of light over vanity bench - excellent blockout blinds.
For the first time visitor, I found it hard to locate the actual entrance to reception.
Clean, comfortable. Good showers and beds. Bright room with lots of light and fresh air. Lovely.
Good access to city, market and public transport, our apartment was quiet, cleaning staff brilliant, desk staff helpful. I would recommend for a short period.
I would recommend this apartment but with cautions, kitchen poorly equipped, access to power points very poor, especially kitchen, microwave had to be moved to plug in jug toaster etc. Lounge area very poor,it is just a walkway, it was supposed to be set up for three people, but even for two there was nowhere to relax, except on the bed. Just to sleep it was very good, but being an apartment a little more could be added.
The location was convenient to the city and Lygon Street restaurants and cafes.
The hotel is old and run down and the rooms are very small. We had (what they like to call) a two BR apartment which was smaller than most hotel rooms. Not enough room to walk around the bed in the main room. Once the sofa bed was folded out you could not move in lounge. One very small bathroom. The balcony was tiny but had a massive air-conditioning unit on it, so there was no room left to stand. I would think it is OK for 5 students as alternative to a backpackers, but no good for grownups and families. No privacy at all. The hotel is very overpriced ($240/night) for what we got. There are alternative big name hotels and apartments in the area for a similar price. Bookings .com have to scrutinize the descriptions given by their hotels better, NO FISH-EYE photos.
Location. Price. Clean and tidy.
Very small specific things, mainly about design: nowhere to lie down/open up a wheel-on suitcase in bedroom (design of wardrobe not right); bedside table and reading light only on one side of bed (2 smaller bedside tables or over-bed reading lights would fix that); power point for jug behind microwave. Most of these easy to fix.
location, friendly helpful staff, value for money ,clean and comfortable and parking..
Easy to get to public transport
No WiFi , lack of utensils
Staff. Charge for internet use, when it was free before.
Sofa was small and uncomfortable. Staff were good with Asians but not so good for Australians
