loved the decor and furnishings of the room, and the location.

check in staff weren't very nice but tolerable.

Close to the city; great ambience, good security.

This was my third stay at The Olsen and again I wasn't disappointed.Used the gym and the pool and again found these facilities a brilliant addition to my stay.Quality of both excellent.Room was at it's best for comfort and class.Love having the kitchenette.

Parking and access difficult,but appreciate that this is not permanent. staff very helpful getting us our car from car park and getting taxis when busy.

Very slow table service of breakfast from the kitchen. (45 min) must have been a staff problem. No business center. I had to use the Concierge computer. The loud bass music in the lobby.

i thought the looped TV documentary about Olsen in your room was a bit strange. I'd lose that for overseas guests!

Stayed over the Australian open and it was quite busy. Some of the staff were surly, and night staff didn't really know about Internet charges etc

The concierge staff were always really helpful and friendly, and ready to provide great tips on where to eat, have a drink, and what to see. We ordered room service from Spoonbill Restaurant a few times, and each time the food was very good, and arrived promptly, and the waiting staff were very friendly. The location of the hotel is excellent, with plenty of shops, restaurants, bars, cinemas, and tram stops very close. A tram-ride to Fed Sq takes just 12 mins. And I liked the iPod dock in the room.

Housekeeping fell very short of what I would expect from a 5* hotel. When we arrived there was still a half-eaten packet of biscuits in the kitchen, left behind by a previous guest. And the ash-tray on the balcony was never cleaned. In fact, over a six day period housekeeping just came into the room twice, and then very cursorily. Beds were not made properly, let alone sheets changed, and the towels in the bathroom weren't changed, either. It seems that housekeeping called once a day, and if the room happened to be occupied at that time they never returned. Also, it is bad enough that the hotel charges for Wi-FI, but to charge for every individual device?!! Come on...

I liked the comfortable bed , the modern design of the room and public areas and the art features.

No fruit bread on breakfast menu was disappointing as it should be a basic. I thought that the lighting in room too low for work and reading

Comfortable bed and well located to transport links.

Mini-bar had half consumed, open drink in it on arrival. Contacted reception, the same drink remained in the minibar for the next three days. Spotlights out in bathroom and not replaced. Not what I've come to expect from 5* hotels.

Poor lighting in bathroom. Damaged sink. Bar area is modest - expect more from a 5*. Reception area is small. Slightly overpriced for what is on offer and in terms of competitors offerings.

Room was very small. Especially compared to the Blackman. Also had an extraordinary circumstance where the weekday hotel manager (male) was drunk at reception on Friday night and behaving inappropriately with guests, including myself. Very strange!

We really enjoyed the comfort of the room,the comfy bed and the great city scape view from our corner room....... Also loved the decor and practical layout....

We were not that impressed with the food on the menu..... Breakfast was ok but no hot porridge ......lunch not up to scratch ......after just visiting the USA we were very disappointed with the choices ......some wholesome yummy salads would be great!
