friendly owner, who had only just taken control back from leasee ,where given time the motel would be back in top condition
motel needs security screens, smell in unit wasnt pleasent , may have been in carpets or curtains, like a stale wet smoky smell, showers need a better screen to stop water going out of area, entrance needs to be widened so two cars can fit past easily
Good bed and clean
Good friendly service
Booking.com stated that it was 8.4km from the airport extremely far from the truth it was about a 25 min drive and know where near the airport
Friendly and efficient staff
Traffic noise. Noisy fridge and air conditioner. No shower gel.
I had interview in prince Charles hospital so the hotel was perfect for me
The lady at the front desk who took our booking was friendly and helpful. The location was good. The sheets were clean on the beds. The tv worked. The shower worked. The wildlife were friendly. Uhm...running out of nice things to say. lol.
The room had not been cleaned properly when we arrived: the microwave had caked splattered food in it from the last guests. No I am not even joking- it smelt like curry! The plates and coffee cups in the cupboards were dirty (more caked food-not washed properly) and there was an insect problem. When I opened the fridge a cockroach fell out (eek) and there was a cockroach smell in the kitchen cupboards. These also seemed dirty and I am not sure if that was insect dropping in the cupboards. Some black stuff in there I did not even want to investigate. The fridge was rusty inside and it was all a bit icky. There was also ants in the bathroom. I think the room would probably be ok for single people who are not fussy and used to living rough and just want a cheap room, but for a family? Gross. The room was tired, dirty and nasty. In the morning, one of the woman staff stomped past the room loudly complaining how the customers were tramping wet feet into the rooms and messing up the carpets ( said this right in front of my husband-knowing he was there) although it had been raining and no doormats were provided so...wtf. When I go to a motel, even a cheap one, I would expect these basic things are not dirty. My home is not this dirty and we have rampaging young children complete with food that gets thrown everywhere and whatever else. But as we paid for it already we stayed. Won't be staying again. Have told the staff about the bugs and food mess... the lady at the front desk was friendly, helpful and very nice. It's not her fault. Hopefully the issues will get fixed or they will simply lose business. Perhaps the cleaning staff or owners need to invest in some better practices and bug control. I have stayed in perhaps 100 or more motels while travelling over Australia and this had to be the worst. Sorry. But it is the truth.
Clean, affordable, good location, helpful staff
My booking was not received so I was offered a room that was not what I had requested. The room that we eventually got was sorely in need of renovation, cracks in the wall, bathroom rather run down. Everything just looked so tired and worn.
It was handy to our family - walking distance. Very helpful office person (Shirley), only recently taken over the premises appparently.
Having to point out the damaged items - toilet seat, door not closing, sloping shelf, missing glasses, cutlery and saucer missing
The accommodation was in fair condition.
The manager of the facility was drunk during my stay and didn't have a record of my booking when I first arrived. When I left, he took payment in cash, did not issue an invoice and gave an unofficial receipt when I asked for one; and he put the money in his coat pocket instead of a cash box. I don't trust this facility and will not use it anymore.
no top sheet on bed. advertised hot breakfast on roadsign but not told til after sign in that there wasn't one.
The convenience of the location and surprisingly quiet.
Bathroom was far from clean and the fridge was not working (was fixed next morning). Booking.com stated check-in was 2pm-10pm, but when rang to say we would be arriving about 8:15pm, was asked if we could be there by 8pm. All in darkness when we arrived at 8:10pm, but manager attended to us promptly.
The reception was abandoned. Could not check in. In the middle of nowhere. Doors hanging off their hinges. No answer on the phones. The place was creepy - it looked like it was out of a horror movie. Stay away from this place - its not worth the price.
Had made a booking my plane was late arriving I phoned the motel at 915 and was informed that my room had been given to some one else so I spent the next hour trying to find. Some were to stay not very happy
The location is ideally situated close to the city, public transport, shops and cafes/restaurants. The room is a good size and the shower has ample room for tall and/or large-framed people. Blackout curtains work well in blocking the security lights that remain on all night and for those wanting to "lie in" the morning sun.
The motel is located on the very busy Gympie Road, so traffic noise can be a problem for light sleepers. Benches outside the rooms can be used by smokers (no smoking allowed in rooms) - as in our case, the man next door was a chain smoker and we could not escape the smell of cigarettes when our door was open, which meant we were required to keep the door closed and the air-conditioner on all the time we were in the room. It seemed the motel was understaffed. Our room was not serviced (stayed three nights) during our entire stay. Having said that, the one gentleman who was there, was very hospitable and tried to be as helpful as possible. Breakfast is advertised as being available, however, when we asked we were told that this was not possible.
Great friendly service. Comfortable beds. Value for money
Very pleasant staff but sigh. Was overgrown with trees
Arriving no towels in room
Location good for our purposes. Bed clean and comfortable.
Cocroaches! Smokers outside other units.
We were disappointed that the information regarding our confirmed late check out time was not received by the staff at this motel. We had to vote in a hurry many hours earlier than we had asked for.
Not clean, Cockroaches around fridge, crumbs on floor.
Easy access,friendly service
Gail, was helpful given.
Internet wifi. 1st place Ive been where you have to pay for internet service when I already had my own. Imojo seemed to block my internet wifi so you had to pay to use theirs.
Close proximity to shops and Entertainment centre
Smoking allowed out the front of the rooms with ashtrays and benches provided to encourage smokers. Room was very stuffy because as we went to open door smoke drifted in. Spider in my bed and cockroach near the fridge. Fridge was so noisy we had to turn off which meant we couldn't have coffee in morning as milk was hot.
Mattresses were getting to worn out stage
