location good and the meal was good
a small area to move in, plus a shelf with a very sharp metal piece causing a deep scratch twice to my husband's hip area. No hair dryer in room, and tea/coffee factilities were bad, having no milk or teaspoons
Location was perfect for our needs, very close to Smith St. Collingwood action.
Parking can be tricky but staff helpful with advice.
Very affordable and comfortable.
The patio restauranters were very noisy outside my window when I wanted to sleep.
Booking.com messed up our reservations
Close to attractions we had booked, easy transport into city, good access to fast food and small supermarkets, clean rooms,
Parking!! No free spots all are time limited and ticketed areas. Can be noisy with traffic and pub music if you are a light sleeper!
The proximity to vibrant Smith Street
Missed the hairdryer
The staff were terrific, very friendly and helpful, especially Mikey who went above and beyond the call of duty in assisting us with check-out on Saturday morning.
There was no soap in our bathroom!
Clean place, close to trams, shops
Late check in and early checkout No mirror, waste bin in room Poor room heating facilities, it was very cold
Service from staff, large room very clean & tidy will be staying in future on trips to Melbourne
Filthy. Sheets had not been changed. Very noisy.
no wifi: Wifi will only be available in the restaurant above, which has different operating hours. in the afternoon you won the able to have internet. That is poor and has nothing to do with a hotel.
Location - close enough to the city to be able to walk there; very close to tram route Food - our dinner was fantastic Local cafés - several to choose from for breakfast
Noisy heat pump - very! turned it off and endured a cold night Cleanliness - previous occupiers' hair on bathroom floor
Nothing to like in this place .... Not recommended place .
Poor location and poor levels of cleanliness. Relatively quiet and the bed was comfortable.
I very much appricated the gentleman that helped us find the hotel as our cab driver took us in the wrong direction. Stayed back to help us. That was just great. I loved that it was noisy or couldn't hear anything from downstairs.
I hated the set out of the bathroom in room 10. There wasn't enought towels or a face washer. I had to use a floor mat.. The aircon was sooo noisy. We had to have it on as it was so cold. I didn't like that there was thin blankets and no doona. We were freezing.
Easy access to where we had to be.
address was not specific enough. taxi driver did not know what suburb. Not Carlton. our visit was neither business or leisure, it was medical, please broaden reason for visiting city.
Staff friendly, restaurant was good. So convenient no need to leave the Hotel. We stayed last year & booked three rooms, happy with our choice so came back again this time.
Possibly just forgot the final touch by not having the tea/coffee milk, glasses & enough cups. We did notice it has slipped since the last time we visited.
Adequate and comfortable for short stay.
Traffic noise, no sugar for coffee, stairs only access.
Comfortable bed Close to the city Close to IGA, 7eleven, Pizza Hut, Maccas. Thursday steak cooked to perfection. Nice historical pictures around the bar and dining area.
Booking stuffed up, found me another room that had a bath that couldn't be used, and bathroom window that couldn't be closed which meant a cold draft blowing in all night. Changed to alternative room after a couple of days, had to wait in the corridor for 2 hours whilst the room was vacated. Loud rap music downstairs until 1.30am. Bedside lamp didn't work. No coffee, milk, or even a spoon. Broken tiles in the bathroom. Dodgy white stains on the blanket. Dirty bin, no bin liners. Sink slow to drain. Carpet dirty, skirting boards grubby. Window rattled all night. Paint around window peeling off in chunks. On street parking (metered). Closed Sunday so no food available. No reception staff - could only speak to anyone when the bar was open and even then, most seemed indifferent with the exception of one young lad. Nobody around for checkout. Advertised free wifi, but this was not available in the room so could only be accessed downstairs. I guess you get what you pay for, but a little service (at least pretending that you cared) and attention to detail would have been nice! Potential to be a great hotel, but unfortunately it fell way short of expectations :(
Clean room and bathroom, top location and not run down - very good place for the money.
Noisy hot water service on the roof behind my room, but I lived with it!
Fabulous meals at an affordable price. Specials on Tues, Wednesday and Thursdays.
Bar staff were extremely helpful and attentive
Location was great, and the food/beverage in the pub was awesome. It provided more privacy than a hostel but still fit my budget. Bed was comfortable.
Room was stuffy, smelly and not very clean. Carpet was wet on one side of the bed, and the clothing rack was coming unhinged from the wall. Fridge hadn't been cleaned in a while. Nail clippings on floor. No light in the shower of the shared bath (which was otherwise clean and great).
relaxed friendly place with great vibe . meal was fantastic and priced very well and bar staff were very friendly have already told friends and family of the Baden Powell
