Barossa is one of the finest wine-producing regions in Australia, with an increasing international reputation. Many of the wineries are open for tasting and there are a number of tours organized.
There are a number of local restaurants serving meals from locally-grown fresh ingredients and influenced by the German heritage of locals.
The region is predominantly Lutheran, and you will see a number of beautiful stone churches originating from the 19th century.
