Novotel Barossa Valley Resort  

The stay was very enjoyable, great room, good service

spa was smaller than expected but ok

Room was comfortable, and the swimming pool was good. Resort was idealy located with excellent wineries & places of interest close by.

Booked the spa room but didnt feel it was value for money compared to the room without one ......... Wasnt happy with the service in the resturant as I felt a 1hr wait between entree & main course was totally unacceptable ................. apart from that would recommend the resort .....

Hotel was well located and easy to find. Good basic facilities, very handy kitchen. Nice Views, and a handy bbq area. Buffet breakfast had very good variety both hot and cold.

Parking spaces can become limited, bbq was very poorly maintained and little in the way of amenities to clean it before use. Bathrooms need a good deep clean rather than daily brush over. Slight Mould build up. The also need more coffee machine's in the breakfast area or a waiter walking around with hot coffee for table side top ups. At times the queue was 9 deep waiting for your turn. This meant when you go back to your breakfast it had gone cold.

The check-out person (male Indian gentleman was very helpful and provided directions and map to our next destination and also noted our complaints

The check-in/reception staff (two females) were unfriendly and did not offer any assistance or services and were uncomfortable about the dining being provided in the golf club. The entrance to our apartment was very badly soiled and had lots of dirt and bird droppings on it - hardly a nice entrance to our apartment. The power at the desk was not connected. The back of the TV controls was missing and the batteries flat (which we replaced).

The setting was nice, with the trees and birds all around.

3 main gripes. 1 The food at the wedding banquet was sub-par, the steak was dry and hard with no choice of getting it rare etc, the other food was very bad and everyone I talked to at the wedding said the same thing, and the service was slow. 2 $28 for a breakfast buffet is a rip off 3. Charged $27 for internet, I was unaware of this cost, that is a rip-off and if I pay $360 a night for a room it should have been included, charging guests for the internet in this day and age is a lame. Why do you feel the need to gouge consumers and ruin our overall impression?

Efficient booking and pleasant staff

Our heater didn't work very well. This was an issue as we stayed during the winter and it was cold. The hotel brought down an oil heater which was good. However we left the room in order for it to heat up enough to be comfortable.
