Staff was available to answer questions and make suggestions. Breakfast voucher was reasonable and food delicious!
My room was over the bar and was noisy till 2am.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
The building could be cleaner.
Smelly room and noise
The hostel is perfectly located for exploring the city, going in and out from the airport and getting about.
The hostel was very noisy, I had a room to myself but was woken several times all 3 of the nights I stayed there by people coming in and out and making noise in the corridors. There is also an annoying tannoy that announces bar events until late. The bathrooms weren't very clean and the shower was terrible.
The people I met in my room... staff were nice too.
The hostel was dirty and generally just unpleasant to be in
Very noisy, bathroom and toilet was disguisting, each door had kind of ornament, like rosette on the top with no glass, so de facto there was big hole and every sound (especially form bar and desk) was very well heard during nigth. Toilet door was broken.
Single Room had literally just a bed, a beside table and a bin. The toilets and shower facilities were terrible, of the three shower cubicles, the water didn't work in one and the handle fell of the shower tap in the other. The facilites were also in very poor repair with grafitti everywhere (not cool grafitti, more of a run down pub toilet kind of grafitti) and paint peeling. Noise from the street was all night, the fanlight above the door let the light in from the hall way and the noise from the club under the hostel was loud on the 4th floor. At 9am I had room service knock on my door and when i said I was fine they kept asking me questions until I told them to leave me alone, then maintenance told me they needed access to change something and I told them I was trying to sleep (had arrived into australia at 5am) and they said that they still needed access so I told them 'No' and to leave me in peace which they whinged about and then left me alone. This is a Hostel, a very low quality, not very cheap hostel that is not worth the money they charge and the facilities are rubbish. Also forget about their pay per day internet as its rubbish and so slow its not worth it, go to the Library for free high speed internet instead if you need wifi for business as I did. Overall I would recommend you don't bother with this place unless you are 18 and don't care and want to be drunk for your entire stay.
Very central , and reasonable price , and very friendly and welcoming staff
THE BED SHEETS WERE NOT CHANGED FROM THE PREVIOUS CUSTOMER !!!! ridiculous
Good location friendly staff
Rooms small and far from bathroom
location, comfy bed, nice staff
shower water pressure could be improved...
I stayed in 3 hostels in Brisbane and BASE was the best. The staff member on the front desk when I arrived was beyond friendly, and she checked me in early and put me in a girls only dorm (though that was not what I had booked). The dorm itself was very clean, had adequate power points and lockers. The room was really dark at night too which was a pleasure. Other guests were really respectful and friendly, and did their best to be quiet when others were sleeping. To me, the way the guests behave says a lot about the quality and culture of the hostel. BIG tick.
There were towels on the floor of the bathroom being used as bathmats, however if you weren't the first to shower then it was a little gross to be standing on a sopping wet towel. But the shower pressure was really nice!
Its room price.
Low cost and goof staff
Appearance of the rooms..
Old and used interior, loud, no possibility to close the window, rooms opened on the corridor
Cant drink alcohol in communal areas
Great central location.... Not so great if you have a car to park!
Needs a REALLY good clean.
Too noisy even at 11pm till 1-2am
very noisy, doors are not sealed so that noise can come through easily had a fire alarm at 3.30 a.m....
City centre, Train station just across the road, close to banks, cafes, Internet is alot better in the bar then the one you pay for your room, Full english breakfast is 7 dollars when you stay with the room which is good value but its not amazing. Has good meal and drink deals down stairs in the bar.
Internet is rubbish but only 4 dollars for unlimited for the day or 12 dollars unlimited use for the week so quite cheap compared to the general price of internet in hostels I think.
Friendly atmosphere, great location, helpful staff, cheap drinks downunder, opportunity to meet travelers from around the world.
Not having a complimentary towel.
The roof was perfect. The elevator is really nice and very stilish.
The toilett and showers were leaking. The BBQ on the rooftop was dirty and bad equipped. The background music at the reception was too loud.
Location and a good breakfast
Shared bathroom. But it wasn't a big deal.
Great people, very comfortable, great meals. Awesome place to stay.
The location was great
The building was poorly maintained
The location in the city center
The cleanliness and the less of the comfortability of the bathroom
