Score from 385 reviews Very good
Very good location. Nice furniture, TV, fridge... Everything seemed to be very well prepared. The receptionist was very friendly and nice, although we didn't see her too often.
The mugs and plates weren't completely clean. The staff was absent for long periods and although in the booking description the check-out time was set for 8-10 am, nobody showed up from 9:45 -10 am so we left a note and put our bags back into the room. When we came to pick them up a sign said that the staff would be back in 15 minutes but after 20 minutes we left the place without having seen the staff again. At night it was very noisy as our room was directly over a night club. They closed quite early, but it was still annoying having to get up early in the morning. The internet didn't work. Asking for instructions we first received a password for a net that wasn't even available in our room. Then we were told that they were having a temporary problem with the internet they hoped to solve within a week and that we could only use the internet in the lobby for the moment.
Close to everything.
No safe car parking.
Close to shops
Beds need throwing on tip , lights did not work , night club down stairs was too noisy , off street parking was limited and tiny spaces had to park on street , insufficient heating
Night club under our room, going to all hours of the morning & we were staying in a family room! Could not get to sleep. No warning from staff. Very cold, 1 oil heater for the room. Don't have anything positive to say.
We were there in the off season so not too many around, very thoughtful staff facilities clean and good value for money. Would definitely stay there again.
I had no problems, but the communal kitchen, the other patrons needed to clean up after themselves. It shouldn't be left for someone else.
Good central location
THE NOISE - Extemely loud heavy metal music from the nightclub downstairs until 3am. Unbareable!!!
The staff were helpful and location was great but needs to be updated 4/5
Cracks in the ceiling of room and bathroom very stained
Noone at reception from 10:00am - 2:00pm is an absolute joke. It meant we missed the start of the Hawthorn game because we had to wait until someone arrived. I have told Hawthorn members not to use this Hotel when they travel to Tasmania
Excellent location, near bus station and all amenities of the central city, and favorable price.
Limited hours of Reception and somewhat indifferent staff.
Closeness to town, very friendly staff, facilities offered.
Lazy patrons who don't clean up after themselves in the kitchen. Had to clean up after them a few times, then stopped.
Staff were very helpful and friendly Room was great value for money
The double bed was against a wall
Location and staff were great
Nightclub underneath hotel, there should be a warning about this. Disgraceful. Room was sufficient, bathroom was wayyyyyy too small.
The bells going off all the time, not sure if it was from the church across the street or the post office building up on the corner.
(1) Location is great (close to City Park). (2) Off-street parking was great.
(1) There was no FREE WIFI as stated online. This was something I had looked for before I made the booking and I was very disappointed to be told at check-in that this was not available. Also, staff brushed off my question as if it didn't matter. (2) The stairs. I have a very painful knee problem and every step up or down is painful. A lift (elevator) would have been great, although the luggage lift was appreciated. (3) Black mould on the ceiling of the shower recess and the bathroom.
No poor comments re staff (friendly but subdued), however they were very reactive rather than proactive, no outgoing informative personality......
The noise - Very loud & vibrating noise from Band at nightclub, Thurs., Fri., &Amp; Sat. Nights - unbearable & impossible to sleep !!! Staff were advised. Also people were accessing the Fire escape stairwell till the wee hours & being noisy just outside our door (Room 10b).
localisation close to the center
when I was staying there, there was not internet, although on the booking.com they said that wi-fi is available
There was a 1.5hr delay in our flight to Launceston and once we landed I noticed a missed call on my phone from reception informing me that they close at 9pm and provided me with instructions on what to do when we arrive after hours. It was inevitable that our flight was delayed but the receptionist was very clear with the instructions which I thought was lovely. Our room was very cosy and the heater and lights had already been switched on for us for our arrival which I also thought was very inviting considering how cold the weather was when we landed compared to Sydney! The decor is dated but I think its the charm of the accommodation as it is located within a heritage listed building. I only stayed there for one night but if I was visiting Launceston again I would definitely consider this accommodation again due to the great price, proximity of the location to other facilities such as food and shops and the cosy and inviting feel of the rooms.
The walls were thin as we could hear the tv from the room next door to us, also the floorboard were creaky but as it is within a heritage listed building I guess this is inevitable.
very central close to eateries shopping arts and cultural attractions.
Being close to restaurants. Very convenient location. Off street car parking available.
Staff very kind, good rooms, bathroom and kitchen clean and free park.
No internet WiFi, nevermind..
Proximity to the city centre.
Very very basic and really just a place to put your head for the night. Felt it was a bit overpriced for "budget" accommodation.
good location,good price
wireless practically useless, looks very run down
It was very cold in the room we stayed in
on a nice and quiet street colse to the city centre with parking space for a car , easy to check in and depart
needs renovations to stairs and carpets
Dirty toilet on arrival and no toilet brush for me to clean it with for the hotel.
