Bells at Killcare Boutique Hotel, Restaurant & Spa  

Accommodation was beautifully appointed, photos on website are true to layout and style. Breakfast on the Restaurant Veranda on Sunday morning, with coffee and papers. Degustation meal with matching wines was very enjoyable.

As we had Degustation Meal, waiting staff didn't seem to interact much but rather just delivered meal to the table. We also had the matching wines and found compared to the other wines serving size for the 3rd & 4th wine was under filled. We pointed this out to the wait staff but were told this was the level when serving wines for degustation meals. This was inconsistent compared to other wines served.

I was so impressed by the changes since we last came - all the new houses and landscaping is beautifully done. The food in the restaurant was perfect and the wait staff are so welcoming and warm. The room (#8) was lovely. I didn't realise tea bags were in the cannisters so asked staff if they could send some with the TV man. Eventually I worked it out. This is the third time I have stayed here and will be happy to return. And I left a nightie behind - hardly a glamorous piece of clothing - but I was very impressed when the lady from housekeeping rang to say they had the garment and would be posting it to me.

** I had to open the door and windows (on a very wet and horribly windy morning) to get the smell of smoke from my room. I believe it was coming from the room of No 7 - not their verandah - because there was no smell of smoking outside so I can only imagine they were smoking in the room. I do not smoke and found this very off putting. ** The multiple remotes for the tv was too tricky and there were not sufficiently simple directions. I was told they were different in every room. It would not be too hard to put instructions on a laminated sheet relevant to each room. ** Poor phone access for mobiles was tiresome, specially as I was in the area on business and needed that access. ** Two men arrived on my verandah to fil the woodbox (which I had not used). I was very surprised and it would have been a nice courtesy if they had knocked from the bottom of the stiars to ask if it was ok to come onto the verandah. I had the curtains open and could have been dressing. ** Garbage bins stored in sight of rooms #6/7/8 parking. There is a huge area, do the garbage bins have to be in the viewline of the pond?

Our room was spacious and seemed tucked away from other rooms enhancing our sense of privacy. The room was well maintained, very clean and comfortable. The spa and the king bed were excellent and contributed to a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Very limited selection of foods included in continental breakfast. Only cold foods were provided with most containing high levels of sugar - cereals, jams and pastries. There were only a few different types of fresh fruits on offer. The only spreads available were jams - at the very least vegemite, eggs or salads could have been made available in the complimentary breakfast. Any hot food could have been ordered with an additional charge of $15 which was most disappointing. We have travelled extensively both nationally and internationally especially throughout Asia and have never encountered such a limited variety of foods for breakfast included in accommodation charge.

The Accomodation was so comfortable and clean. Bed fantastic. Loved the decorations. Everything was quality. Want to return soon.

Mosquitos a real issue

We found the accommodation very good and the grounds are picturesque.

There were mosquitoes everywhere outside the rooms. The food in the restaurant was nice but the arrival of it too slow-first night over 70 mins. for 1st course. 2nd night 50 mins. for 1st course. We expected better. For some reason explanations of menu not provided to us but were to others.

The cleanliness the great staff.

I have already a sent an email regarding disappointing meal at Manfredi's on the night.

The cottages were very private and separate which gave me the tranquility I needed. We loved the beautiful gardens, the water features and the breakfast was great.

The gardener was mowing like a madmen continually all day on Wednesday. We were at the pool and it did not provide a very peaceful ambiance. The restaurant is over priced and the menu limited. Massage at the spa was pricey.

Our accommodation was lovely and the restaurant fantastic.

I loved the tranquility, the gardens and pool area. We had a wonderful massage at the Spa. The restaurant and staff were fantastic. Loved our lake villa with its view, modern US beach look and sunshine (no. 20). Glad we stayed the extra 2 nights.

Did not like the first room we stayed in (no. 8) as much. Very dark and no sun. Fire didn't work as efficiently and smoked into the room

Ambience; friendly staff but poorly trained.

The room facilities did not work, i.e. the TV in the bedroom did not work; there was no WIFI in the room as advertised; the service in the restaurant.

The welcome, the accommodation and the location.

The dinner on Sunday night was very ordinary...below our experience in April of this year. The quality of the food was no better than satisfactory and was nowhere near a standard that might be associated with a 'Manfredi' restaurant. The service was poor. There was a wait of almost half an hour before our order was taken (I had to ask). Once the process started it was OK. Disappointing...maybe there's a 'Sunday Night' syndrome.

Bells was incredible. The villa was immaculate and perfectly designed. The view was beautiful and the ambience so relaxing and peaceful. The onsight restaurant and menu was unsurpassed. The staff were incredibly knowledgable, professional and friendly. We cannot wait to go back!

The perfect place for a getaway from the city, so close yet so far away from the hustle and bustle. Everything was first class. It was a special birthday treat for my husband who was in hospital three times during the first half of the year. He said it was the best holiday we've had. We'll be back.

Restaurant prices particularly wine

We loved the accommodation, the decor and furnishings were very tasteful giving a comfortable, homely feel. The restaurant ambience was very good, although a dimmer switch on the lighting would give a more romantic feel. The weather didn't permit dining outside, but hopefully that would be with candle light and not bright overhead lights - and something for the mozzies. The service was good and staff very attentive.

Bottled water to take with you during the day would be nice, also a small jug of fresh milk in the fridge. The possibility of noise from adjoining balconies during summer could spoil the tranquility but that of course can happen in any accommodation.

Easy trip from Sydney. Good privacy in villas. Convenient.

Overpriced accommodation. Restaurant food was average but pricey. Atmosphere is a little manufactured. Room fit-out a bit tired (for the price). We noticed a lot of plastic pipes etc around the pond/waterways. Makes it look and feel more manufactured.

A fantastic place to unwind with just enough luxury to make it feel special. Food great. Private accommodation but enough people around to give it a bit of life. Truly enjoyable

Excellent location. Great restaurant.

Spa could do with a bit of an overhaul. A bit cottagey. Should offer higher profile products. Room service should also be offered - particularly for the price. Overally I don't feel it delivered on what they are charging. Had more of a B&B feel instead of a luxury retreat.

Location is in close proximity to Bouddi National Park.

Lots of extra hidden costs. Had to reconfigure TV and DVD for it to work properly.

Poor mobile and Internet reception

The cottage was an excellent size for a weekend getaway. The meals at the restaurant were scrumptious and breakfast on the balcony was so peaceful. Relaxing by the pool with a champagne was pure heaven. Will have to book my massage at the dayspa next time.
