Convenient location - bus to town centre stops just across the road. A lovely traditional house, furnished with period furniture. Lovely garden with flowers and fruit trees (the fruit is offered for breakfast). Very thoughtful hosts cater for all guests' needs. Definitely recommend this B & B
Sitting on the balcony for breakfast in the moring - very relaxing. The antiquity.
Sharing a bathroom/toilet with other guest but that is the B&B experience. Otherwise choose a motel.
Karen and Roger are so kind and took care of every need you may have!! Be sure to try the homemade jam. It is delicious!!! Bendalls is a fabulous place to stay in Hobart and very convenientally located! I highly recommend it!!!
Hobart being our first port of call when arriving in Tasmania it was a pleasure to have such welcoming hosts as Karen & Roger. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and found it warm and cosy in this beautiful home. There was a good supply of breakfast goodies and I especially loved the homemade jams. Roger & Karen were very helpful in suggesting places to visit. I would recommend Bendalls B&B to anyone visiting Hobart. Thank you Karen & Roger
The owners were very welcoming. Place was well cared for. Personal.
The window was banging all night from the wind. Hard to sleep as a result.
Karen and Roger were excellent hosts. Breakfast provisions were good. Property in very handy location.
Beds not tops for comfort. towels were hard and scratchy. We thought "self contained" meant having ones own bathroom facilities and not having to share with others. That was very disappointing.
Old world charm
Absolutely delightful room (we stayed in the twin bed Sarah Toogood room) that was even more charming in real life than the photos I'd seen online. All decked out in vintage furniture, linen and crockery- each detail authentic! Cosy and comfortable in the middle of winter even. Lovely motherly host Karen attentive- no, pre-emptive!- to our every need without being intrusive. Even came home to find our room had been serviced (beds made, washing up done) which I wasn't really expecting from a B&B.
I was initially a little put off by the shared bathroom and toilet but this worked out absolutely fine at the time. Didn't feel inconvenienced at all. And you might even be the only guest for part of your stay so won't be sharing anyway!
Friendly and caring owners, liked the place's ambiance and the breakfast (home made jam by Karen), convenient location for us.
Home made preserves, plunger coffee and good pressure in shower
Somewhat difficult with plates cutlery and sink in bedroom, while fridge, microwave and food in other area.
Lovely hosts and great location!
At first I was daunted by the perceived distance from the heart of the city. The beautiful house is perfectly placed on the main bus routes right through to MONA and beyond - door-to-door service. It is a very vibrant areas which the locals keep quiet. Excellent restaurants, cafes and the best cinema in town. Our hosts could not have spoiled us more. Delicious home made breakfast and very comfy beds - important!
Quaint old Worldly house and fittings
Mattress were like sleeping on concrete. Fiddly little kitchen not good enough for sharing.
Karen & Roger were amazing hosts from the moment we arrived to when we left they could not do enough for us. The B&B is a credit to them it had everything you needed and more, excellent pricing the best value for what you experience. I would fully recommend Bendalls B&B if you are staying in Hobart. Thank you Karen & Roger for creating the highlight of our trip to Tasmania.
Karen and Roger were very welcoming and friendly. Her recommendations were very helpful. We enjoyed the antique furniture.
It was difficult to manage the old-fashioned toilet.
Bendalls was excellent. Karen and Roger were excellent hosts who have done a wonderful job at providing an experience of the past wirh today's comfort and facilities. We loved the charm and the tranquility of the place, the friendliness and the originality of Bendalls... We would highly recommend it.
very friendly owners, large comfortable room and verandah to relax on with a book convenient bus or walk to city centre and restaurants/cafes use of washing machine was much appreciated, especially as Karen was kind enough to bring our washing in off the line!
shared bathroom and self cooked breakfast make this more of a pragmatic choice than a luxury B&B, but it is priced accordingly so makes a great base for exploring Hobart and surrounds
Karen and Roger are lovely, friendly people who are very passionate about their property, recycling and their garden. The rooms are atmospheric and there are some relics such as the toilet and claw-foot bath / shower. Very cosy and warm. Their is a choice of breakfast items and the bread made lovely crunchy toast!
