Alexandra on Takalvan

Ease of Access to Bundaberg and surrounds - quiet even though on Main Highway into Bundaberg and two way driveway entry and exit was convenient: clean bedding and towels: Even though I have put in some negative comments, overall our stay was very comfortable and presented no problems.

Directional Maps should show exactly where Takalvan Street is eg Takalvan Street is part of Main Highway from Childers into Bundaberg - there were no clear council identifying road signs - Sign on Motel actually says "Alexandra's Steakhouse" - Initially difficult to find correct location: There were 3 small cockroaches in our room: No cold water container in fridge: Only 2 chairs for family room, hence helped ourselves to additional chairs from patio furniture outside other units: Initially when booking, I rang and rang the 1800 number at night eg between 6pm and 9pm but there was no answer, hence I had no option but to book on line - there is another motel called Alexandra Inn and when I tried this number, I got another motel of a very similar name at 2a Bingera Street Bundaberg which incidentially was $220 per night for a family room. I actually went to reception to obtain more chairs but it was closed. There did not appear to be any signage saying where I should then go to find assistance. If it was there, I didn't see it (maybe my mistake??).

needed more pillows. and a couple of plates and knifes and forks would of been good too. a jug in the fridge would of been good too.

The bed was very comfortable. Convenient to shops and not noisy considering it was on the highway.

Motel staff resolved booking problems. Affordability.

The booking was stuffed up and my day off was ruined worrying if the booking was ok with phone calls back and forth with staff to resolve problem.

No replies to numerous phone calls and e-mails as to whether my booking had been received and if they where still trading after the flood. The price I paid and not having hot water or cooking facilities. The receptionist not knowing the availability of what was available in each of the rooms.

I didnt like that on our door there was no latch to keep my little one in he kept going outside because he could reach the door handle

The cleaning staff do a wonderful job and are very friendly. It was the items out of their control that let the apartment down.

The carpet was very old and stained, the lounge was stained and had a tear in it, no fans only one a/c for apartment(we stayed in spa apartment) plug for kitchen sink didnt fit so water went down sink everytime you used it. No toaster.

Nothing stands out

When we checked in we're told that there was no restaurant open Staurday and Sunday night and then we found out they don't serve breakfast Sunday and Monday mornings. We didn't know this before we checked in other wise would of chosen elsewhere to stay. We asked for an early checkin, we're told by reception staff they would get cleaners tondo our room first and ring when the room was ready, we received a call about 4:30pm way after checkin stated. During the first night we discovered a terrible smell coming from the bathroom drain when we went into the bathroom, told reception about it the next day, we were told something would be done about it but the smell was there our whole stay, it smelt like sewerage. I could not recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay there. I was disappointed with our whole stay there.

No microwave in the room but the people from the restaurant helped!

Xmas time, so people celebrating in family within the motel... Noisy kids playing... But not nice when you need to sleep!
