A really clean, modern hostel with all the facilities you would expect plus some extra! Huge kitchen, great roof terrace with pool and nice views. Easy walk to the city and across the road from places to eat and supermarket.
Had to pay to use the internet, although this wasn't too expensive and you had to pay to use lockers to store your bag, only if it was just for an hour or so. Most hostels offer this for free.
Nice staff, nice room for backpackers
In the same street you can get better prices, or something better for the same price ...
Clean and comfortable and High Security
No Free Wifi, and No Free Locker Room
Nice clean hostel, excellent location lovely staff
Fire alarm went of at 1 am no direction as if to leave or if was okay to re enter the building!
Communal facilities, spacious rooms, good showers, comfy beds, everything was clean, well equipped kitchen, friendly and helpful staff
Only two power sockets in the room
Terraces area, big kitchen, nice decoration, movie room and game room
My room was really close to the rail, so a bit noisy if you are sensitive.
Cleanliness and warmth were my first concerns: met admirably. Occasional shouts from returning revellers were not a problem (you would expect them in a YHA after all!). Staff at reception occasionally very busy but ALWAYS friendly!
The only good thing in this hostal is that it's clean
You want save money? Don't go there! You will pay for the room 37$ + towel + wifi + soap + store your luggage 5$/4 hours + disgusting breakfast . The location is not good, far from the city center. Finally the room cost me 75$ with the breakfast. This hostal is a trap ! You can find a nice room in a normal hotel around the city center for 50$ and you will have everything included in the price !
I went to Brisbane for a conference, and stayed at YHA for a week. It was in a very good location. Front staff were always friendly and helpful. Other guests were respectful too. Because of my hours, I didn't take advantage of all the facilities (except the washing machine) but they all looked good.
There is a train that runs right past the hostel, and when it passes, the squeaking can be very loud - but of course, that's not the fault of YHA.
I liked the excitement of being with international backpackers. Location of hostel and cleanliness both good.
A male receptionist made some locker room remarks about why I (a single traveller) should move from a room with two single beds into a room with a double bed - one young woman (backpacker) also waiting at Reception thought this very funny. I didn't like being the object of jokes. A young woman serving in Drifters Bar seemed nervous with me, and again I suspect that the issue was me an elderly man travelling unaccompanied. I found the hostel very noisy. I was exhausted and had a cold and went to bed early. People let the room doors bang loudly, and the door locks seem designed to produce maximum noise – impossible to sleep through I found. At 10:15 PM a group started the engine of either an old bomb of a car or a diesel bus outside my room which was on the ground floor next to the parking lot. They revved up the engine as if they were trying to find out what was wrong with it, and the engine roared for 20 minutes. Far out! Will I recommend the hostel to others? Only with some reservations
Atmosphere ,clean, modern nice sheets I loved the cafe and the decor. Some one has great taste art !!
The mattress was sinking down one end and raised at the other. I'm not sure if it was the mattress or damaged bed springs. I had to use clothes and sheet to fill in the hole/ slope so as to be flat !!!!!i am a camper so I'm not fussy ,just a flat surface is necessary to sleep well !!! And There was a lesbian couple sharing one bed who were incredibly unfriendly and cold , they were up until 2 am texting and whispering . No one would let me turn on the air con and they refused to let me open the window for air. I sweated and felt sick from the stuffiness.
Great views great people
Not long enough stay
Best bathroom/shower facilities I've found in any hostle
Other Guests a bit loud
all excellent, thank you for the great stay! everything went perfectly!
only funny smell in tv room
Some staff were not as good in helping me understand a hostel and its facilities, Because this is my first stay in a hostel We need to understand better Pillow can be better
Stayed one night for state of origin suncorp, excellent location for ground, about 10 min walk with a heavy bag from roma street train station, 15 mins to centre of brisbane, local places to eat , cinema, supermarket and bars stayed the tuesday night for origin wednesday, had to check out wednesday at 10, rented a 24 hr locker 11 aud was huge for bags and was given a day pass to use facilities after the game reception staff showed the the speed dial taxi phone to get to the airport (no public transport runs to the airport post 2130) and off I went
Good location Hospitable reception Well organized shared space (terrace, kitchen, rest rooms)
No window was in my room Room was quite small Conditioner didn't work (blowing with hot air) So, it was very stuffy in the room
Clean, friendly staff, good location near transit centre
I had to pay $6 to leave my stuff in storage before I checked in. I was going away after for a few nights then back to yha- they wanted me to pay $11/day for storage of a bag. Dorm room was $36/night, we paid pretty much the same each for a twin next door for out next night and they even let us leave our bags there for a few days for free.
It's quiet close to city, about 15 mins walk. Big kitchen with fair facilities. Nice out dinning area. The internet minimum $5 per day, but without usage limit and pretty high speed (you can easily do skyping). Seperate toilets and showers.
Nothing much to complain, compared to price.
it was just one night so i needed just a place for a sleep. I didnt use kitchen or common area so it's hard to judge. I've found everything what I needed - bed and bathroom :)
Clean room Cute little bar at reception Toilet separate from shower Good bed/pillow Numerous of plugs
Noisy (noise from kitchen and trains) Far from city
Cannot set aircon and was too hot in the room since we couldn't open windows for ventilation as train went pass frequently.
Staff are arrogant and terrible. Our room has no wifi signal but they refused to admit and check it. Instead, they accused us of making stories. The hotel is so overrated
It was clean, room had enough space, big kitchen with lots of plates, cups etc.,dining area with great view. Big locker with power socket inside, so it's safe to charge mobile. Rooms and even bathroom are for card, so it is safe.
Internet is expensive - 5 aid per WiFi per day, which is somehow OK, and 5 aid for desktop per HOUR, which is much too mucn
