No refund if you stay shorter and check early out! Bad!
I think it is moyr better than what i expected
Room, social areas
Bad location, paid wifi, no ventiliation in bathrooms, could be cleaner
Dorm room had its own shower and toilet. Huge kitchen was always tidy. Free pancakes on Sunday. Nice view to the city. Friendly staff!
the wifi wasn't free.
It was so noisy, all night people coming in and out of the stairwell door, the drink machine stole our money, the floor outside the room were wet so it smelt like wet dog the whole night, the aircon turned off by itself, then cleaners woke us up at 7am
Clean, good facilities. Also every day has an event made by staff, such as bbq , movie, tour, breakfast.
Just one outlet per person in the room.
Clean and tidy. Close to CBD, nice people.
Nothing to be honest.
Was clean, confortable and has air conditioner
Wifi is not free and sometime is slow.
The YHA is so incomparably better than other hostels we stayed in and beats 3-4star hotels in many respects. First, it is really, really clean and well-maintained. Great modern convenient bathroom, good pressure in the shower; white soft towels; and that hairdryer was also available (you can swap it for an ID). The entire place just looks tidy and full of light – exactly what I expect from a good hotel. Secondly, we really appreciated that the front desk was open 24h (arriving late and booking last minute this was important – and the first time in about ten other hostels and hotels we stayed before); all was well organised and exactly as described online. Thirdly, they have lots of various important facilities (laundry; luggage lockers; books exchange; pool; etc etc) AND an elevator – we had huge bags and it was the first hostel where we didn’t have to drag it up narrow staircases a few floors up. Finally, there is a very atmospheric café where we had a great breakfast at very good price. Seriously recommending this place. I don’t understand how other hostels on the same street (we stayed in some of them) co-exist and compete with YHA next door – it is just so much better.
Really cannot think of anything. It was all great.
-Location was good, a 15 minute walk to stores and restaurants. -Nice big kitchen with pots, pans, plates, bowls, cutlery, fridges to keep food. People clean up after themselves and the staff are always coming in and out wiping down counters and taking out garbage.
-You had to pay for wifi...I belive it was about $15 per day. Enough said. -$12 per night for parking -We paid $15 extra per night to have a private bathroom but the shower was HORRIBLE. it didn't work. The water literally went everywhere but on your body. -There is an intercom message that goes off all throughout the day. It starts early in the morning and late into the night. We were so excited to sleep in our first morning there, suddently, 9am, a loud message goes off with the days specials, activities, and reminders about checking out. This is all something that could be printed out and left in the room or picked up at reception. -The walls are SO thin. Every time someone opened and shut their door in their hallway I thought they were doing it in my room. -For all the extra add-ons, we would have been better off just not staying in a backpackers and we would have actually saved money and had a better stay at an actual hotel.
The bed was extremely comfortable, cleanliness was to a great standard, and the room peaceful.
Night staff unhelpful and cocky. Maybe employee more professional staff to provide customer service being a YHA branch and what the company stands for. No help provided with directions to station
Roof top , huge kitchen, always clean , good staff
A bit small bedroom
The kitchen and dining area are excellent.
After midnight, the kitchen and dining area are closed, and there's nowhere for sitting at a table to write or work on your laptop or tablet - except on your dorm bed. It would be good if the kitchen was closed, but the tables were still available for use.
My husband and I had a private double room which was modern and very clean.
Nothing to note.
A really clean, modern hostel with all the facilities you would expect plus some extra! Huge kitchen, great roof terrace with pool and nice views. Easy walk to the city and across the road from places to eat and supermarket.
Had to pay to use the internet, although this wasn't too expensive and you had to pay to use lockers to store your bag, only if it was just for an hour or so. Most hostels offer this for free.
Nice staff, nice room for backpackers
In the same street you can get better prices, or something better for the same price ...
Clean and comfortable and High Security
No Free Wifi, and No Free Locker Room
Nice clean hostel, excellent location lovely staff
Fire alarm went of at 1 am no direction as if to leave or if was okay to re enter the building!
Communal facilities, spacious rooms, good showers, comfy beds, everything was clean, well equipped kitchen, friendly and helpful staff
Only two power sockets in the room
Terraces area, big kitchen, nice decoration, movie room and game room
My room was really close to the rail, so a bit noisy if you are sensitive.
Cleanliness and warmth were my first concerns: met admirably. Occasional shouts from returning revellers were not a problem (you would expect them in a YHA after all!). Staff at reception occasionally very busy but ALWAYS friendly!
The only good thing in this hostal is that it's clean
You want save money? Don't go there! You will pay for the room 37$ + towel + wifi + soap + store your luggage 5$/4 hours + disgusting breakfast . The location is not good, far from the city center. Finally the room cost me 75$ with the breakfast. This hostal is a trap ! You can find a nice room in a normal hotel around the city center for 50$ and you will have everything included in the price !
I went to Brisbane for a conference, and stayed at YHA for a week. It was in a very good location. Front staff were always friendly and helpful. Other guests were respectful too. Because of my hours, I didn't take advantage of all the facilities (except the washing machine) but they all looked good.
There is a train that runs right past the hostel, and when it passes, the squeaking can be very loud - but of course, that's not the fault of YHA.
