Bed and pool
The location excellent. The bed was very comfortable. The pool area was excellent.
The room was nothing like described on the web site. Only one chair (for two people) that was very uncomfortable. The bar closed at 9.55pm - not 10.00pm (He was pulling the shutter down as I walked up and said they were closed) and the staff were as friendly as they needed to be without being rude. WiFi didn't work very well - very very slow. Asked at the desk and they suggested sitting in the tour waiting area as the signal was better there. Overall it was 'OK' but for the money, I wouldn't go back.
Found Cairns dirty. Shops are old, too many people. Would not go back to visit
The pool area is the real attraction.
Lack of amenities in room..no bottle opener, glasses, comfortable chair
beach pool and room type condition
George (man from Sierra Leonne) the front office man was wonderful, friendly, courteous and helpful. We were very impressed with him. The catering manager was also fabulous!
Pool bar staff could be friendlier, didn't see any smiles in two days.
I have stayed at your resort a lot. every thing is very handy shops etc. Allways been great.
This time when we arrived I was told one price for my stay inc up grade. Then it went up $600.00 ? Then when we got back after a day out in the boat, our room was not cleaned bins were still full.
The big bed and swimming pool
bar not open in the pool area after 6pm
Room wasn't very clean
The hotel was situated in an excellent position to the city. It was a short walk to restaurants bars and shops.
The only thing I didnt like was my room had a pool view which was beautiful(which was not the problem) the pool area was not tieded at night. So when you wake to a beautiful oasis its is spoilt by pool towels just left around messily on table chairs and sunbeds. A quick tidy when the pool closes might be in order
The location was excellent. The pool was great.
The room that was initially given to us was disgusting. I had to request another room which was better but I had to pay extra for it which was very disappointing. Then the room we were given smelt, the TV was blurry and the shower was not working properly. I will not be staying or recommending this property to anyone.
Novotel Cairns is situated perfectly and anyone planning a trip to Cairns should seriously consider it. The esplanade and lagoon 1 block away, the main shopping strip is on the next block, large shopping centre 2 blocks away and casino a short 2 block stroll. Perfect for families and just for a couples trip. Lovely.
The location of the hotel was excellent, close to The Esplanade and the centre of Cairns
Rooms looked a bit "tired "
Staff in all areas were friendly, chatty and helpful. Our room was made available long before the normal check-in time. Beds are super-soft. Breakfast range is extensive. The pool with the pretend beach is a winner, as is the supply of beach and pool toys. The hotel is about 2 blocks from the Esplanade with lots of restaurants nearby. It's about a 10 minute walk to the Lagoon pool and night markets.
Location reasonably close to Cairns esplanade area therefore convenient for families. Friendly staff mostly. Undercover parking available. Clean.
Skeleton staff. Dated hotel. Rooms basic. Ordinary coffee. No healthy kids' meal options despite claiming to be a family friendly resort. No food or drinks available between set meal times. Pool towels located at reception therefore unnecessarily lengthy wait time when other guests checking in/out. (No room # noted upon collecting or returning towels so why not provide self-service?)
Location close to centre easy walk to a supermarket. Did not use it but there is a really awesome large pool in the central courtyard. The staff at the hotel were exceptional very well trained and very friendly and helpful.
The room was small and stuffy no space to move at all. Every bit of floor space was covered in beds. There was nowhere to sit and read or what TV. There was nowhere to eat a dinner. The room had not been updated for many years stains in the carpet lots of damage on the walls dated and worn out furniture. Bathroom was dated. TV did not work properly and was quite old. A/C was noisy.
-Location is great -Kudos to the poor barman, great cocktails even at $15 a pop! -Parking is included surprisingly considering everything else was a rip off
We chose a superior king room and paid $200 for it. We're average aussies on normal wages so $200 isn exactly a cheap spend. The photos for this room on booking.com displayed a spa bath and open plan accommodation. We arrive and the bathroom has a bath a 10 year would struggle to fit in, the size of the bathroom is ridiculously small especially for taller people who don't want their knees damaged when on the loo! The room 'featured' a king size bed, a desk and the most uncomfortable cane chair I've ever had the displeasure of sitting in. Features...Really? The balcony overlooked the pool which was nice but make sure you're a people person because you can see right into your neighbours rooms and vice versa. The balcony also had no chairs or table. So sitting on the air con unit was the go. Classy hey! Upon voicing our displeasure to reception, we were told the hotel was fully booked. A refund or discount was never offered. Customer Service apparently ISNT on this hotels agenda. It's really disappointing to see this brand of hotel has gone backwards. We both work in tourism and know what to expect but this hotel well and truly surpassed our expectations, in a very negative way. We chose this hotel to end a week long trip, our first holiday together, we wanted it to be special. It still was special because we had each other but rest assured we will never be ripped off by this hotel again. Definitely lost our business and any positive feedback to our friends and family. My advice for fellow travellers? Book elsewhere.
The accommodation was close to shops and restaurants. Good size swimming pool.
The first room we were pur into was nothing less than disgraceful. The floor looked like a team of footy players had stayed there. The room smelt bad and the bed was broken. That was the last thing travellers want to see and have. After complaining we recieved another room which was better.
Location And price
Bathroom was a bit old
noisy room on ground level, dated outfit
Location was ideal for our stay
Location is good, close to shops and dining.
