The location was perfect, everything is so close, I received an upgraded room on arrival which was nice. Breakfast was good, although more variety of cereals would have been nice. The gym and the resturaunt/room service was also great : ) The couch was not comfortable at all! It was like sitting on a brick, the bed was also not great and the pillows seemed to have been slept on too much... My room also smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, but they were fully booked and I couldn't be moved, so I had 5 nights of allergies.

For central location, the 353 is definitely ideal, it makes it so much easier to get around Melbourne city. Room was clean and comfortable too. The price of a continental breakfast was included in our price. To be honest I don't know why they bothered. Selection available was so poor, food quality, again so poor. There is the option of a cooked breakfast, but you have to pay extra for it. Disappointing.

Initially, my partner and I were a bit concerned with the lack of photos on the website which is currently undergoing construction. However, upon arrival we were happy and content with our room. It is affordable, clean and comfortable and is located in a fantastic point in the Melb cbd. Sarah, the hotel receptionist, was friendly and very helpful! We were overall happy with the comfort of the room. We wanted something clean, comfortable and close to the shopping precinct in Melb and that's what we got! Not a luxury hotel by any means, but its perfect for a shopping holiday!! I'd recommend it to friends and family looking for a clean and affordable place. The room had a slight cigarette smell to it, even though we were in the non-smoking section. That put us off a bit. Also, there was no hairdryer in the bathroom and some of the bathroom necessities (I.E. sewing kit, toothpaste) were not there. The room could have done with a slight refurbishment of a paint job because some of the equipment in the room looked outdated. The tv had only the basic channels, (no movies or FOXtel) but it didn't bother us too much as we were out of the hotel most of the time.

The location is central to our needs for our visit. The room was excellent, very comfortable and had all of the amenities we needed. The added bonus - and the one I tell all my friends about is the inclusive breakfast.... In addition to the price, service, location etc etc ... I look for Causeway hotels as a first option when looking for accommodation. Of course price is a very important factor. Please pass on my thanks to your Reception staff who were most helpful when we needed to leave our luggage before our room was ready, and also at the end of our stay when we weren't leaving the city until later in the afternoon. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with you and look forward to our next visit! :-)

Breakfast room is in a dungeon with no phone coverage which is a necessity on business trips. Add in free wireless if need be to fix this inconvenience. Shower arm would not stay in place ang gym closes way to early. What time? Who knows, no sign on the door. I went at 9pm and it was shut???!

I enjoyed the clean rooms and comfy beds. The staff at reception have done a good job in welcoming us to the hotel. I had breakfast in Sotto restaurant on the first day of my stay 20.11.11 at around 9.30am and had tasted the yoghurt. It tasted off and I told one of the staff (indian background) that the yoghurt was spoiled. However, the response that I received was appalling. She insisted that the yoghurt arrived yesterday and ignored my complaint. I was very unimpressed.

Good price. Excellent location, in the heart of the city and easily accessible yet quiet. Clean and comfortable room. Breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice and everything fresh. Newspaper at my door was a pleasant surprise. The bathroom design, although very attractive, is not functional. The vanity unit is too large and the flat square design, together with the high faucet, meant that water splashed onto the top surface and all over the toilet paper beside it as well as the floor. Also the depth of the ledge in front of the wall mirror plus the large vanity basin made it difficult for me (who is not tall and wears glasses) to get close enough to see sufficiently to apply make-up etc. and the lighting in the bathroom was also insufficient for this purpose. I used the wardrobe door! At breakfast - of the 3 toasters only 1 seemed to be operating efficiently.

They used a flat sheet, which did not fit, to cover the bed mattress rather than a fitted sheet and hence the mattress would be exposed through the night.

1. The free breakfast is good. 2. Most of the staff is great, except for someone in the late evening, not very willing to answer guest's questions. 3. the place is great, very close to the city center, shopping center is just on the corner, china town is 5 minutes away. 4. the price is great, 130$ including breakfast, consider the other hotel's prices there. 5. The room is great, clean with refrigerator, safe, coffee cooker, microwave, electrical iron. 6. The only thing I want to complain is the internet price, $8/h, $20/day, the most expensive I ever met, but which seems common in Melbourne. Besides, the internet speed is not so satisfied considering the price.

Location is great. Plenty of great places to eat nearby, especially breakfast on weekdays. Good rates when compared to other motels in the same area. It had everything that we needed, and was very quiet (we were on the 4th floor). We arrived early Saturday morning, and were able to get our room straight away, because it hadn't been used the day before. When we checked out, we were able to leave our luggage at the motel, until we were ready to travel to the airport later that day. The staff were attentive and helpful. Disappointed that even though we selected a premier king room, the king bed was two large singles joined together. The join was very prominent, and so not very comfortable for a romantic weekend. Next time I'll specify that the bed be a proper double. Awful coffee in the breakfast room! But we did have a meal one evening in the restaurant, and it was great, with excellent service.

The location was really good, and it was nice that it had a fitness center. Also, was nice that breakfast was included. There is no free internet in the lobby, and they also charge you for internet in increments of 15 minutes, 1 hour or 24 hours. Every time you want to extend that, you have to go to the front desk and sign another slip of paper. It was a royal pain. Also, the wireless did not work, so I could only used wired internet, which was actually quite slow. I did mention this a few times to the front desk, and they said they outsource their wireless so they couldn't do anything about it. Breakfast facilities in the basement feel like a cafeteria and the options are very limited.

We enjoyed our stay at Causeway 353 Hotel the location was excerlent the room was comfortable having the breakfast was a good choice a good start to the day. You need to look at the beding situation with new pillows and new mattress"s or at least turn the mattress over every time some one has been in them

The room was comfortable and clean and the location of the hotel is excellent. A bit confusing that there are three Causeway Hotels but once we found the right one we were right. The hotel is in a lane so pros and cons. Pros is that is was quiet as not on the main street. Cons was that we had to keep the blind down the whole time in the room, which made it dark, as it looked straight into the windows of a building across the lane, which was very close. However, we were only there to sleep as the great location meant we could walk, tram or train anywhere in the city with ease. I would stay there again as it was value for money.

Recption staff very friendly. Sotto Restaurant is a great place for lunch. Location is reasonably quiet for such a central location. Room had a stale smell as if it had once been a smoking room.
