This hotel is centrally located in Chalmers Street near the Central Railway Station, and provides a great base to leisurely explore, or do business in Sydney.

The Central Railway Hotel was completely re-fitted and refurbished in 2008, and now comprises brand new guestrooms each with their unique charm, elegantly designed with stunning contemporary elements.

Central Railway Hotel delivers easy access to the business district, Circular Quay, Chinatown and Sydney's famous beaches. Private covered secure parking can be provided for guests with a reservation.

Public transportation is accessible on the hotel street, with an airport bus service operating to and from the hotel. If arrival time is within non-operating hours, special arrangements must be made in advance.

I specifically asked, in writting, when making my booking for a room NOT facing the street to avoid trafic noice, I got one facing the street! I live on a farm, trafic noise keeps me awake.The tap in the room leaked and I had to rig up a way of masking the noise.

Convienience of location

Was extremely disappointed that even though I had reserved 'secure'
carparking spaces directly through the hotel 4 weeks ahead of schedule,
was told upon arrival that they had no such places held and could not
accomodate our cars and there was nothing they could do about it. Had no
choice but to park on the street.

Yes . . the pillows were very high and inflexible. I would bring our own pillows next time, unless there were softer ones supplied (I know pillows are very much personal taste!!)

Owners/reception was quite helpful with transport queries.

Room had been recently painted but not aired. Room stank of paint. Shower head was not adjustable and water was aimed across not down, hitting myself and my friends in the throat.

I was booked for four nights. The hotel refunded me half my pre-payment, when I wanted to check out three days early. I was grateful that they did, as I was not happy with the room.

The bathroom was in poor condition. The road noise was objectionable... and this was despite having requested a quiet room in my booking. There was a slight miscalculation of my refund amount in their favour - which I pointed out - but frankly I was happy and grateful to receive some money back (which was a big plus), and be able to leave.

big room, clean, good value for money, helpful staff

the distance from the central station was bigger than i expected - 10 min walk, moreover through area of sydney which is not very safe, thus i wouldnt recommend it to women travelling alone
