Hotel Charsfield Melbourne  

Enjoyed the location near the autuwm coulours in the parks adn beign half way between St Kilda and the city. Enjoyed dinner and drinks at the bar. Enjoyed sitting room and extra space in our bedroom suite. Enjoyed the ambience beign a cosy and older style hotel. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Rooms could do with an interior designer's advice - small items like a free standing light in empty corner of sittign room area in room 313 and more care with furniture matchign etc. With not much expense interior could look a lot more special. Bathroom very small and awkward with placing of toilet next to shower and no walking space, but I guess you have done the best you could with space. Did not enjoy having bed so near corridor - did not feel very private. But all in all I felt we were comfortable alhtough not feelign like luxury and I felt good value for money.

Wonderful old world charm, extremely friendly and helpful staff. Clean, quiet and private. Great value for money. I will have no hesitation in staying at Hotel Charsfield again and have recommended it to family and friends.

The cosy and low key feel of the place - no shiny glass and steel and concrete with plastic people. The beautiful architecture. The tasty and affordable room service menu.

The dining room was too expensive and breakfast daily is unaffordable, i feel a light continental breakfast should be included in the price.

loved the old world charm and ambience. Very happy with housekeeping and service in general. Would happily recomend Charsfield to my friends and family. Will be back soon.

Atmosphere

It was very noisy early on Sunday morning -children running up and down the corridor outside my room

Luxurious and yet homely feel. Characterful property. Although a little distance from CBD the tram system stops almost outside the hotel. Helpful and friendly staff.

We were at a wedding celebration at the Willows which was only 50m down the road. The location for us for absolutely perfect . Staff were friendly

The lack of parking was an issue , we were lucky to get on street parking. unfortunately we experienced a 4am fire alarm that woke us up. We felt like we had to get up and dressed as the alarm went on long long enough to assume there was a problem. I had thrown on some clothes and went into corridor as there was some commotion upstairs but the only way i found out that all was ok was because one of the night staff came downstairs and said it was fine. I just think that due to the incident it might have been nice to offer a free breakfast or something .

A combination of quality, location and price. Good breakfast on front terrace

I feel the rooms are a little too small, probably because bathrooms were added on. We had the junior suite (408?) which has an extra room but on the whole I wish the rooms were a bit bigger. Nevertheless the price, quality, cleanliness, location and generally easy atmosphere more than make up for this.

Wonderful, charming building and property. Enthusiastic, friendly staff. Comfortable, well-appointed rooms. Real ambiance.

Hotel Charsfield has fantastically helpful staff - and we just can't praise them enough. It is reasonably priced. The room was a bit small, but it had everything we needed. The wifi and printing facility was great. The location is good, with just a short walk to the tram to take you into the city or to St Kilda, and with a nice garden where you can sit and have a drink. We were glad we stayed there and not in some city high-rise hotel. The building has character and we'd highly recommend it.
