Chifley Wollongong

The bed was absolutely fantastic.

When we arrived the room given to us had no views (balcony with high surrounding walls). Both me and my husband are golfers and were hoping to have a view of the golf course. After some small additional fee we were able to be upgraded into larger room with a great view. It made all the difference to our stay. Thank you.

The view of Wollongong on one side and the golf course was beautiful and the bed room was well maintained. Bathroom was clean and closets were great

We asked for our room to be serviced by calling reception as we put a "do not disturb" sign on the door earlier and flipped the sign as well as put a leaflet for cleaning the room on the pillow as requested. Clearly someone did come into the room, but did not take the towels that were left in the bath, emptied the bin nor make the bed as asked. The brought extra crockery, but didn't take away the dirty dishes. When we called up reception however, there was someone sent up immediately even though it was late:-)

the staff and room etc were excellent and the bed was really good. We wished we could have stayed longer.:))

the coffee that is put in the rooms for guests to use, not the best tasting and not enough sugar for two people. oh and long life milk isnt the best to use. As we came in late we didnt want to disturb the staff for normal milk. Sorry it is a trivial thing. :))

Shower in room was 'designer' but not functional. Room layout was strange to say the least. Room was not cleaned properly after first night, coffee cups were left untouched. Mini bar was 4 beers, water and chocolate, nuts etc. No wine or spirits. Smoking was not permitted on the balcony, even with the door closed. (We select rooms with balconies so that we are able to smoke) Lifts were slow and usually too crowded when they did arrive. Buffet breakfast sounded good, however all hot dishes were empty, and after waiting 20 minutes, we asked to have the charge reversed as there was still no hot food. Charge was not reversed, resulting in issues at checkout (which were resolved satisfactorily). This sounds very negative, and I'm not intending to complain, however attention to little things would have made all the difference. This was not a cheap accomodation option, we expected more for the cost.

We were very disappointed when a generator came on at 12.20am and woke us up. When I mentioned this upon check out the Hotel had no idea what the noise was. Only one lift was working and it took 20 minutes to get to our room.

The earlier check-in that was organised for 12 noon in order for me to attend a 1.30pm function - time to check-in, unpack, shower and change.

They had spacious rooms and the view of the golf course was very nice. Also the central location to Wollongong was great, especially since we went to the Wollongong Carnival and 2130 fireworks

In room entertainment selection lacking (movies/new releases), elevators seemed to have a substantial wait time during peak times and WIFI in the rooms

Close proximity to harbour, city and restaurants. No need to drive.

Uncertainty of getting a parking spot in the hotel or outside. We had to arrive at the hotel a lot earlier than we would have preferred in order to ensure a parking spot.

Waiting for the lift for ten minutes on arrival and on another occasion during our time there. The expense of internet use.

I liked the location, friendly staff and facilities.

I didn't like the quality of the food on room service. I was also unhappy with the fact that it was not voided from the charge of stay. I would have liked it if I had staff assistance to carry my luggage to and from my room.

the location to win stadium was great....the staff were friendly and very helpful secure parking is always a bonus.

I booked a corner suite and when arrived I was told I was upgraded. Very disappointed. No views and very basic. No menu in the room for room service or anything
