Price, location and cleanliness.
Room overheated. Left window open but then street noise, including overnight rubbish (bottles?) disposal, even louder, resulting in broken sleep. However, still good value and would stay again.
wifi access was good
Bathroom cleanliness bordering on disgraceful. Cleaned once a day yet used throughout day and night by numerous travellers.
Great staff and wonderful stay
Bathroom and shower together
Everything is great! Highly recommended~~
Excellent location Very accessible Helpful staff
No elevator No one in the reception after 9pm
Great location, easy access to trams, trains and buses. Clean rooms, comfortable bed.
A tray to place the cups and tea etc, rather than leaving them on the bar fridge. A welcome bottle of water might be better than the tea.
Excellent location. Very helpful staff. Clean room.
Close to transport, food, entertainment. Easy to get to from airport. Room was clean and comfortable. WiFi available. Staff were helpful and efficient.
Shared bathroom and toilet facilities.
I tried out several backpackers hotels in Melbourne but this one was definitely the best one. Very nice people at the front desk that will help you with anything, great location right in the center, great rooms, very clean bathrooms and great free wifi connection.
thin walls so you can hear what's happening in the other rooms, then it's a matter of luck with the neighbors.
Loved that it was so close to Parliament building. I would usually walk back to my hotel room around sun-down and I got to sit on Parliament steps to catch the last few rays and then head back to my room which was only a 2 minute walk from Parliament. And I loved how cosy and clean the rooms were. Loved my white cosy duvet. And having a mini fridge was great to keep my breakfast items like fruit and yogurt. Was also nice to have a kettle to make cups of tea.
The bathrooms seemed to always have a bad smell. But they were cleaned daily.
Good location on the edge of Melbourne city, I had a relatively quiet room (as requested) despite the loud street below me, so was happy with that. Room had everything necessary for a night's stay (kettle, tv) but nothing more than the bare minimum. Good when you just need a base to sleep in.
Couldn't get the wifi to work late at night (probably would have been fine if I could've gone to reception for help)
It got us out of trouble when we couldn't find anything else affordable on a Saturday afternoon. Location was quite good.
Building/rooms etc could use some updating. The pub being just outside our room made sleeping on a Saturday night/morning quite difficult as the room is clearly not so well insulated. Beds/sheeting were not particularly comfortable nor clean.
front Desk personals were nice.
Shared bathrooms.. never clean your room...the reception closes at 9 pm is instead of 24 hrs. Etc
The location was great !
I pay for single room, but they gave me a room for family. I'm not sure why, i told them they gave me a wrong room. But they said, its alright, just for me that room
No free water, the kitchen was dirty
Clean. comfortable. good location. surprisingly quiet.
Shared bathroom toilet. no toilet paper in either toilets on second floor on first night (left note) stairs carrying 20kg bag was not great.
Very nice neat room. Nicely Decorated. A double glazed window to lock out the sound of the main street. Nice desk to use as a mini office when using my laptop. Airport buses have free hotel shuttle bus transport direct to and from the hotel. Great location. A short walk to everything on the fun side of the city. Free City circle tram stops just around the corner.
I don't like giving a good review because I want spaces to be available next time I come to Melbourne.
Free wifi Close to tram stops and free circular tram Close to Brunswick Street
Beds were comfy, nice rooftop garden.
Unfortunately I have to say that the 'hotel' wasn't really a hotel at all by definition - it was definitely a hostel. Shared Bathrooms, No Service, No Change of Towels even during a seven day stay. Only one pillow provided and no top sheet. On my first night there was seaweed(?!!) in one of the sinks, hair in the shower drain and no less than two blocked and fully visible toilets. For the fairly decent price, I could accept these shortcomings - if it weren't for the rudeness of the staff. There was a girl during the day that sat with a 'back in 10 minutes' sign on the window, rolling her eyes when guests came up to ask a question or buy a drink and then reluctantly opening the window. Appalling. I chose to spend my last several days in Melbourne at a slightly more expensive, but MUCH MUCH better hotel. Would not recommend to anyone, let alone friends or family.
I was very surprised with the cleanliness and commodity of the hotel. I stayed while I was looking for another place in the city but felt very confortable all the time.
Individual bathrooms would have been better, but the shared ones were clean and never crowded.
Big thankyou to the staff who went out of their way to be helpful with everything from internet to luggage. Location was perfect for city walking and all the trams I needed. Hotel was unpretentious and room was spacious, clean and comfy.
That car-park outside my bedroom x 7!
The free Circle tram starts operating from 10 am only. We have choice of taking the train from Parliament Station or paying trams along Bourke Street and Collins Street before 10 am
Bed bugs. The bath towel could only be changed after the 4th day of stay.
- kind staff - clean room - really good location - you can use wifi in the room - you can borrow a hair dryer for free with 10 dollars deposit(will be refund)
