In room facilities are generally good for the price. Location is very convenient for everything in the city. Wireless Internet is rubbish. Underengineered for the number of guests they have. The lady on reception knew the problem existed and readily refunded the fee for Internet access. If you need Internet access not not rely on the Internet provided at the hotel. If you have no other option for Internet and need it, do not stay here.

The location. A short walk to the river. Great hotel for meals one street away (The Grovenor) Deli almost next door for essentials Easy access to the freeway for travelling either north or south of the river The lack of parking for cars. A real problem as you had to leave the car out on the street at night if you didn't get one of the few parking spaces inside. Street parking free 6pm to 8am otherwise you had metered parking!!!

The front desk people were wonderful. The location across from the Swan River and within walking distance of the central city was perfect. The schuttle to the pier was available and reasonable in price. They held our luggage from checkout time until it was time for us to take transit to the pier at Fremantle in a special luggage room. All in all, we would stay there again in Perth if we ever return to Perth. The age of the hotel was both a plus and a minus. It was quaint and clearly was typical in furniture and architecture of the 1960's.

Location. Cleanliness, price The main thing I didn't like was that it wasn't possible to dial out on the landline. This was intentional. I couldn't believe it! It is the only hotel I've stayed in in 32 years of travelling that didn't have a phone, or rather had one that had been purposely disabled. Also, people could only ring-in until reception closed at 8.00pm. I think for $120 per night. a phone is an absolute essential. Hotels are for guests, not for the convenience of owners and staff. If they can't work out how to bill calls or secure payment, maybe they should be in another industry.

The room was quite dirty, especially the floor. It is rather a motel than anything else. Very basic. My one year old son was very dirty after two minutes of crawling on the ground of the room as soon as we arrived! It is not very close to the city center, but quite nice walk to Barrack street jetty and the CAT bus to the center is two blocks away and for free which is good. City waters is centrally located so is an asset to business travellers not to cencerned with the 5 star syndrome as it is clean and the staff are freindly in the way they go about their business. I think that the City Waters could have a fully functioning phone system as I beleive that after 7.oopm you can only dial out for emergencies, could be wrong.
