City Waters  

All the hostels were fully booked and while we were looking for 6 days we could stay there 3 days

It's described as hotel but is actually an motel

The location was great: I could walk to the foreshore, eat in a good Vietnamese restaurant or Dome Cafe, visit the public buildings and get to the ferry and station.

The owners or managers completely refused to pass on my messages: I was also meeting up with academic friends from W.A. Meanwhile, they told my friends and contacts that they WOULD pass on my messages.

The staff were the most pleasant we have encountered ... everything was clean and maintained well. The general set up of having cooking facilities and a fridge was a wonderful bonus to enable us to have a few of our own home cooked meals whilst on holiday. We visited Perth during a 5 day heat wave with temperatures above 38 celsius and it was so pleasant to return to the unit and see that staff had been thoughtful enough to turn the air conditioner on in anticipation of our return. Wonderful Friendly Service

Location, location, location

Colour of walls and furniture... Would benefit from just being painted cream, the green is so dull.

City waters is centrally located so is an asset to business travellers not to cencerned with the 5 star syndrome as it is clean and the staff are freindly in the way they go about their business.

I think that the City Waters could have a fully functioning phone system as I beleive that after 7.oopm you can only dial out for emergencies, could be wrong.

Overpriced for what you get - an old building with old rooms

Convenient location, beautiful views outfront, good size kitchen.

Old style airconditioner was a bit noisy.

The rooms were very small and basic, but were nonetheless very worthwhile for the price. The location was excellent, right on the Swan River. Service was so friendly and accommodating. I would recommend this motel for anyone passing through Perth solo or as a couple, looking for a convenient river-side location as a base-point to see the city.

Not enough room in the parking lot.

None really - would be handy if the parking bays were allocated to adjacent room , but no real issue

Proximity to the main cbd of Perth, the size of the room and the ability to get your own meals with the use of the equipped kitchen.

Good apartment with kitchen. Very close to city hire car depots. Close to free bus service into city (cat). A reasonable number of car parks. The air conditioning was effective. It compares favourably with similarly- rated hotels I've stayed in around the world.

This isn't a dislike, but because it's a budget hotel, it's not new. This shouldn't detract from the experience: everything worked and was clean and it was quite nice to be somewhere different to the standard hotel room.
