Wonderful welcome. Attractive building with interesting features in the rooms. Very comfortable. Excellent food served. Owners very knowledgable and helpful in planning what to do.

Friendly welcome from hosts that really want you to enjoy your stay. Excellent breakfasts and a wonderful evening BBQ. Good room and social areas in a traditional Queenslander house. Close to beach and ferry to Magnetic Island by car.

Very friendly people, very welcoming and helpful about restaurants. They offered to give us a lift into the restaurant area and collect us afterwards. House lovely old colonial historic place. Breakfast of trpoical fruits was excellent. Teas offered ever time we returned.

The room and the bathroom was really clean and well organised. The whole house is very interesting and has a lot of charme. The hosts were very welcoming and extremely helpful. I would recomend this B&B to everyone who likes friendly, family feel service.

Made to feel very welcome and excellent BBQ for dinner on the veranda. Some good stories shared about the history of the house, good experience.

The house was beautiful and the decor was very well suited to the age of the home. Its near Castle Hill and I run so it was perfect.

My husband preferrs a hotel as it is a bit more private, not having the owners there on site. I liked to have a chat so it was ok with me.

Wonderful place managed by the wonderful Iva and Russel. The house is charming. The hosts are offering the best B&B experience. Anything that you may want from B&B, they already thought about and deliver before you even ask. Just great.

Friendly couple and great food

It was wonderful to stay in a house full of character. The owners could not have been more friendly and helpful. we especially enjoyed the evening barbecue & tropical breakfast, both prepared by our own personal chef - the owner!

Being greeted warmly with tea, coffee and brownies everyday. Being able to to use the facilities freely as I wish. Being able to invite friends over to use the facilities.

The property was an 1890's built Queenslander in fantastic condition, beautifully maintained and furnished. The owners Russell and Iva could not have been more welcoming or friendly. The breakfast was great taken on the veranda.

Slightly out of town centre but within walking distance.

Hübsches Haus im englischen Kolonialstil. Was macht man an Silvester Abend in einer fremden Stadt? Das Besitzerpaar schlägt uns vor ein Basketball Game zu besuchen und fährt uns auch gleich zum Stadion hin. Super Service!. Ein feines Morgenessen mit einheimischen Produkten und einer Platte mit vielen verschiedenen Früchten. Bei der Abreise erhalten wir wertvolle Tipps für die weiteren Reiseetappen. Alle Tipps erwiesen sich als sehr gut!

Das Frühstück war mit dem Früchtesalat sehr frisch, lecker und schön zubereitet. Auch das Barbecue war excellent. Das Fleisch von super Qualität und sehr zart. Das Frühstück und das Abendessen fanden auf der gemütlichen Terrasse, die zum Garten gelegen war statt. Die Eigentümer waren stets mit ihrer freundlichen und zuvorkommenden Art bei Fragen zu Ausflügen und Leben in Australien auskunftsbereit. Ein Bed- und Breakfeast, indem man die Seele baumeln lassen kann und die relaxte Lebensweise der Australier kennen und lieben lernt.

This was a beautiful home with every comfort you could wish for in this sort of bed and breakfast. The breakfast on the verandah was delicious.

Meticulously clean, beautfiully restored older home, very comfortable, great hosts, provided lots of info for Townsville as well as info for our ongoing journey. Going up Castle Hill is a not to be missed activity. They are conveniently located to Reef HQ. Easy to get to The Strand from the B&B location. They have a big pool table, offer a complimentary glass of port or sherry in the evenings. If you are exhausted as we were, Russell cooks up a wonderfully simple and delicious meal at a great price and it is served on a lovely veranda in the shadow of Castle Hill. The morning fruit salad was elegant, delicious and full of healthy surprises. WOW!

The only minor issue is that there is a nearby busy street. If you like to sleep with your windows open and are a light sleeper this might be something to consider. HOWEVER, they provide air conditioning and when the windows in the room we were in were shut the road was not an issue. Don't let it take away from this lovely and peaceful B&B with two wonderful hosts.
